Wir haben zu Zweit, im Anschluss an den Besuch des Museums, im Aussenbereich des Cafés, unter Begrüßung der Bedienung inclusive Rückmeldung derselben, Platz genommen. Nach knapp 10min, obwohl zwei Bedienungen ohne nennenswerte Auslastung anwesend waren, leider nicht bedient worden.

Nettes café zum Verweilen und Füße ausruhen. Sehr netter Service, kleine aber feine Karte mit haugsmachten Kuchen, Sandwiches, Suppen und Salaten.
Abzug gibts für die unfreundliche Toilettendame und die Tatsache, dass auch Gäste des Cafes für den Besuch der Toilette zahlen müssen.

Museum Café Mokum is a quaint, peaceful place to relax and reflect. After all, you are walking into a former orphanage, now the inner courtyard of the Amsterdam Museum. The café is situated in the former cow shed of the Saint Lucien Monastery, built in 1414. So, where cows once lived, enjoy some treats. I had a pannekoek with powdered sugar, which was nice enough. Of note, no one spoke English here, not the server, not the other customers; and this added to the charm of the place for me. Maybe this is not a touristy place. Besides me, there was a tall blonde man enjoying pannenkoeken with his little blonde son, who looked just like him, covered with powdered sugar and all. The fresh roses on the table, even in the cold of winter, were sweet. You can use the toilet for some small change.

This quiet refreshing, restful oasis is located right off a main shopping corridor in Amsterdam. Once you are seated the crowds and noise of the rest of Amsterdam seem far away. The food is reasonably good and the prices are reasonable. It’s a bit odd that such a nice setting charges half a euro to use the restroom. But it is what it is. Otherwise this turned out to be a real surprise in the heart if Amsterdam.

The ambiance is wonderful. Food is okay. However the service staff is very forgetful. Was left alone for over forty minutes while I tried to pay for my meal. Had to ask two other people before the waitress finally came over.

To be a café in central Amsterdam the prices are reasonable. Nice terrass and children friendly. Simple menu, what you see is what you get.
Downside is that even if you are a costumer you have to pay for the toilet.
