I’ve loved Maoz for years for what it is — a falafel joint. It is always clean and the salads are great. It’s always one of the«must do» items from any trip back to Amsterdam!

A great chain of vegetarian fast food restaurants we kept seeing all over Amsterdam. Why isn’t stuff like this as popular back in Ireland my friends and I wail! The falafel sandwich is great value at a fiver, and you can fill it with as many veggies as you want from the extensive self service salad bar. The fries are the best I’ve had on mainland Europe(but they’ll never beat chipper chips drowned in salt and vinegar!). The man serving the food was pretty grumpy, but the speed at which we received our meal made up for it! Fast, tasty and reasonably priced if you’re looking for grub on the go!

The falafel is good, not the best ever, but good and inexpensive. Where this place wins is with the topping bar. Everything is free and you can keep going back up. The pickled eggplants are delicious!

Great food each time ! Maoz has always been a favourite of both my wife and mine — and it’s a must each time in Amsterdam. This trip we went there thrice. The location of this one is by far the best — impossible to miss And while I am a fan of ordering something I like — over and over — have been to Maoz over 20 times now and never disappoints I end up going to restock the sauces in my ever shrinking falafel at least 5 times before I’m done with my meal Easily the most messy fast food I have — and probably the healthiest.

As a general rule, I avoid all fast food, but this is one of the few reasonable options. The falafel are not authentic as I know them from my background, but they taste pretty good and with all those sauces and all-you-can-binge toppings, what can go wrong? The falafel are always fresh and hot, the sauces are tasty and can be quite spicy, and the salad/toppings bar offers some good items. And all that for just a few Euros. They are also open very late!

Tasty, freshly cooked falafel, and some of the best chips I’ve ever tasted. They’ve got a wide range of toppings, some of which I don’t recognise at all, but it’s fun to experiment!

It was fast and fresh. I like the topping bar(love me some fixins). The lady helping us was hilarious I think she thought please meant thank you. Anyway great falafel!

I would kill for a Maoz in California! Absolutely delicious and that open salad bar is fantastic. My friends and I kept adding that yogurt/garlic sauce, cucumbers and tomatoes after every bite.

A vegetarian’s delight, but the oil used for the falafel can sometimes be a little too over-used, leaving you uncomfortable for hours. Hurray for the hot chilli peppers and the yogurt sauce, though!

my choice for healthy fast food! BUT if you have a problem with open bar buffets(food germ phobia) this place is not for you. all the toppings are buffet style and all you can eat. lots of great choices from couscous, peppers, sauces and pickled veggies. i love all of them. they also serve fries and other sides. the falafels and pita bread it comes in are yummy! you can also have your falafels made into a salad if you’re avoiding the carbs. in fact you can easily go NO carbs at this joint :) the only thing thats tough here is seating. if you go during the busy meal hours, you’ll most likely be standing and eatting. the Maoz establishments are scattered throughout Amsterdam

The cashier, who also prepares the food, picked his teeth, used his cell phone, touched his face and handles the bread. A customer dropped an unopened can of diet coke into the green sauce and he grabbed it out with his hands and left it. The same customer just picked from the salad bar and just ate with his fingers.

i was first introduced to maoz by S. who had to retrace her steps from a summer abroad… let me just say S. is quite the forgetful one, so when she actually *remembers* how to get back somewhere, my expectations are SET! and luckily i wasn’t disappointed! we ordered our respective falafels and filled our own toppiings served quickly, we hung out at the bar rail along the window and people watched as we scarfed it down the BEST part is the ALL-YOU-CANREFILL toppings! the two of us went back for toppings *count* them 1,2,3,45x… and shocked the guys… it was YUMMY! haha~ don’t underestimate the appetite of *hungry* girls! ;p and you KNOW it’s good when a carnivore like me eats vegetarian

If there was more junk food like this in America, well, we’d probably still be fat because we’d find a way to throw in some trans fats and then oversize the portions. This is like a vegetarian McDonald’s — get your frites, your falafel, and then get out. Plain and simple — no frills. If you’re a student and on a budget, this isn’t a bad place to go as it will fill you up cheaply.

I love this place! I stopped in here before I was about to see a movie. I was craving something quick to eat and this was the best place to full my tummy. Plus, it was a great solution to avoid from eating movie junk-food. What I love about this place? It’s convenient, healthy, inexpensive and provides great customer service.

Great vegetarian meal and an Amsterdam essential. I love this place. If you are going here it is for mainly a falafel sandwich, there isn’t much variety, but that isn’t the point. You walk in greeted by energetic happy to serve employees. They will get you served quickly and efficiently. I love how they serve the«sandwiches» and then the counter contains maybe 12 or so options to pile on top. Tomato salad, long green sweet peppers, tabouleh, lots of of other goodies too many too name, all delicious. My buddy and I eat here at least every other day when we are out in Amsterdam.

It was actually after Unilocaling a Falafel place in Manchester, UK that my friend who is currently living close to Amsterdam, suggested this Falafel café when I came to visit her the following month. It is technically a fast food joint and if all fast food was this healthy and tasty I would frequent them a lot more! Maoz claims to have some of the best Falafel in the whole of Amsterdam and I am not going to argue. Basically, you choose your falafel and how you want it serving, maybe in a salad box or in a pitta, choose some add-ons if you fancy, maybe some hummus or babaganoush and then you get access to a fully loaded salad bar to customise your falafel as you like. So tasty and filling I almost considered spending another night in Amsterdam, just so I could try another one the following day, well maybe not, but with only one Moaz currently in located in the UK, it was definitely a mouth watering thought.

This was actually the first place we hit upon our arrival in Amsterdam. After what seemed like an eternity of flying, we just wanted to sit down, have some food and go exploring. ENTERMAOZ. This tiny restaurant served up some decent falafel, with access to a full salad bar to top off your falafel sammich. It’s also in a high traffic area(near the fashion district) so it’s great for people watching. Not a bad spot to grab a quick bite.
