We came without a reservation at 19:30 with 6 people. We got a great table on the podium. The food was quite pricey but excellent, just as the wine. The kitchen in the 3rd floor was open to guests who wanted a peek and the service was outstanding!

We’ve had dinner here 3 or 4 times. We won’t come back again. Last night we arrived at our booked table, with our kids. We take’m out to restaurants at least 2 per week, so they know how to behave, eat, sit, respond to waiters and order their food. Well… Let’s start with 5 stars. The place, location and staff is great! –1 star. My stepsons pork was so pink, it was still bleeding(and talking) — 2 stars. My stepdaughters pasta was so small, and really only pasta in olive oil with bottarga… Just a small hand full. She was so bored with the food. Yes, we have completely spoiled their taste buds with amazing restaurants… Incanto was not one of them. (No there are no side dishes on the menu) — 3 stars. My pasta was super al dente, it was almost raw. When I poked it with my knife, the rigoletto almost crumbled. I kid you not. Sent it back and got very wet and cooked to death gnocchi with the same(but less) sauce from the rigoletto. I mean, really the same. The artichoke was cooked to death and had no structure left. –4 stars. They made Lucas, our 8 yr old a very nice pasta. «With meaty red sauce!» He was not complaining: he was happy, I tasted it… it was so bland, I could have given it to a newborn. The wine was great! The staff was great! Setting was great! No, We like really good food. This wasn’t it. Super disappointed. We used to like you.

If you’re looking for amazing views of Amsterdam and a fantastic northern italian dining experience look no farther than Incanto. The regular dining room is amazing and the little birdhouse room above that, next to the spectacular kitchen, is a magical and intimate 4 table perch. Phenomenal food and views of two canals and the clock tower(plus some bonus kitchen energy and close-access to the bathrooms) make the up-upstairs worth the hike(do not attempt in high-heels however!). The mushroom risotto is fantastic, so is the veal cheek and lobster gnocchi. Good value for quality at € 160 for two.

Amazing place and good view! Very relaxing atmosphere and nicely decorated. The staff is mostly Italian I think, and you can get a full experience. Try the chefs menu, it’s worth it.

We came here to celebrate a special occasion and I was a bit disappointed in the actual food, especially after hearing rave reviews from everybody. The service was fantastic, but the food… meh… just meh.

Big huge disappointment with the service and the food was good but not over the top. Had to send my fish back as it was not good anymore! We do not recommend it and will not come back.

Phenomenal! As authentic as any restaurant in Piedmonte and much more down to earth in terms of service and execution. I had the 4 course chef’s menu and, from the amuse bouche to the cheese course, this was a virtuoso performance. Everyone on the staff was very caring and flexible, black truffle risotto was stunning and all the courses were a testament to balance between technique and fresh ingredients. I am going back this week, this was up there with any three star Michelin experience at about ½ the price.

The reviews here are dead on. I wish I could give this place 10 stars. Without a doubt one of the great meals of my life. We got the 4 course chef’s menu and every single dish was nothing short of mind blowing. The desert was a custom chef creation nowhere to be found on the menu and it literally left me speechless. The waiter also helped us select an amazing Borolo wine and my fiancé and I agreed, it was probably the best wine we have ever had in our lives. Truly an amazing place and whenever I get back to Amsterdam, this place will be a must.

We dropped in for lunch last Friday and had a wonderful experience! The service was great and the food, even better. 3 course lunch included seafood ravioli, white fish and a cheese plate and everything was amazing! Wish we were in Amsterdam more often so we could go back.

There is little to add to the previous reviews. The food was the best I have eaten in a while ANYWHERE! The ambiance was lovely. The service was professional and knowledgeable. Go expecting an «event.». You will not be disappointed.

Without a doubt one of the very best restaurants in Amsterdam. I found this cute restaurant online last minute and tried to make a reservation, unfortunately they were fully booked but placed me on the back up list. In the afternoon they called me that a table was available and if I was still interested, which I defiantly was. We were received with a complementary glass of prosecco. The help and explanation on the menu was great, as well as the amazing advice on the wine. The food was outstanding, seriously one of the best experiences I’ve had. My customers are now, 8 months later still talking about that night. Wine tip; red try the Ca’Marcanda promis 2008, white try the Unterebner Pinot grigio 2010 tramin.

One of the more memorable meals we have had anywhere, and we have dined all over the world. From the warm and friendly welcome, to the intimate, casual yet elegantly designed restaurant, to the choices on the menu, the terrific service, and then the most perfectly cooked fish we have ever eaten in a restaurant(and we have eaten a lot!), to the chocolately desert that did not disappoint(and I am very fussy about chocolate and usually disappointed in restaurant renderings of it). We did the prix-fixe three-course menu, and left sublimely satisfied. Better than anything we have ever had in Italy, and that is a high standard to beat. This fellow knows his business, and obviously has a great source of the freshest seafood and prepares it in creative delightful ways. Worth the trip, and, considering the quality, very fairly prices. Though one other reviewer describes it as hard to find, it really isn’t if you just look for it across the canal from the L’Europa Hotel. A lovely location.

I love this place. I have been here twice on business trips; first time I was taken and the second I went out of my way to go back and wasn’t disappointed. PROS: — Great Italian food. A blend of classic and comfortating with a little more contemporary. The risottos and pastas are excellent. I was there in November and given it was truffle season they kindly gave me a very reasonably priced plate of pasta with truffle,(not on the menu, I asked for it and they were happy to oblidge). — Great service. Present but not hovering. Friendly yet professional. Knowledgable staff — Great location. Well situated in the center of Amsterdam,(amstel 2), and a lovely dining room on the 2nd floor. A private room tucked away which easily seated 12 of us on a previous trip and a seeming event space on the top floor — Value. This is not a cheap meal, nor is it expensive. It is a monthly treat kind of place. Of course depending on what you eat/wine you drink. — Wine List — some fantastic Italian wines and a good range of prices CONS: — Can be diffifult to find! A discreet door at street level is all there is. — Struggling to find anything else to put here. Incanto will be on my list when I return to Amsterdam for sure.

THEPERFECTITALIANJOB! Really :) And I mean it in a good way! From food quality to wine choices to service… yesterday evening they did not miss a single note… and consider the location also… probably the most central building in Amsterdam, second and third floor… view on the canals… PERFECT! Do not get there too early. watching the sun setting on the canals in Summer is definitely part of the incanto! Started with a great prosecco and a small appetizer from the house. a small piece of tuna steak(almost raw) on top of a very tender and well done calf slice… wow! Starter for me was roasted quail, served with dates filled with duck liver and rolled into pancetta slices! YUMM… My friend had asparagus with fried eggs with Castelmagno cheese… delish :) Then Risotto with astrice… what a great fish dish… perfectly cooked rise with creamy all melted together piece of fish. Surprisingly, as I mentioned the sommelier that I love red wine, he managed to serve me the perfect temperature(lightly cooled) montepulciano which I would have never say it could be a match with fish. Second was an incredible pigeon with Tuscan cherries … together with the red whine it was a real feast for my palate… what a great dish. Antonella took a great subfilet served with the most delicious tartare sauce. All served with the great matching white wine, despite red meat should call for red wines … but she does not drink reds. Small break to get upstairs to admire the view of the canals and sip some more wine… you can also smoke a cigarette there… great view. It was already getting dark… so perfect timing for the cheese platter… and what a surprisingly choice and assortment of different cheeses covering all of Italy. Served with a great sweet red and white wines. You can not finish an italian dinner with out the dessert. Chocolate parfait with rhubarb ice cream!!! almost knocked out :) Do not worry. they have an very ample choice of amaros you can choose from. My preferred is Fernet Branca straight up… with their espresso coffee and some delish small chocolate pieces and some biscotti :) Well… it was a real Italian experience. Our great waiters /sommeliers knew all about the food we were going to be served, and all about the matching wines… and of course. they are Italians but they can fluently speak Dutch and English… so everyone is served the perfect way. It is NOT a pizza place. Definitely a top place from every angle. Book in advance and be ready to spend… you do not want to get there and be worried about prices. The wine tasting is totally advised unless you are a real connoisseur of Italian wines. Do not expect anything else than Italian :) PERFETTO!!! Btw, incanto means enchantment, so be ready for the experience :)
