TERRIBLESERVICE — I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Firstly, upon arrival we were treated in a condescending manner, with staff throwing us in a corner with no menus, offers of drinks, etc. When we were finally offered a menu the waitress stood there whilst we were looking and immediately pressed us to order, unlike in most restaurants where you are given a bit of breathing space. We ordered 2 lots of garlic bread as a starter and 2 pizzas and a pasta dish for mains. The bread and garlic butter came out first and was delicious. However, our pizzas arrived after about an hour’s wait and were good, if not a tad lukewarm. However the pasta dish still had not arrived 15 minutes after the pizzas had. When we asked the waiter to enquire we were told to ‘shhh and be patient’. After another 15 minutes it still hasn’t arrived. We asked our waitress to speak to the manager, she said yes and went and spoke to him. As one wall of the restaurant is mirrored we were able to see her approach him, gesture over to us and then saw him brush it off and stay behind the kitchen wall, repeatedly poking his head out to look at us — coward! After another 20 minutes — 50 minutes after we got our pizzas and almost 2 hours after our starter, our friend finally got her pasta, then was asked to ‘hurry up as we were taking up space for other customers’!!! We were not even offered any form of compensation and a member of our party had to repeatedly state how the service had not been okay before they offered to comp one soft drink! We took the deal as we couldn’t wait to leave that place. Would not return and would avoid at all costs.

Pizza Chipolla was best I’ve had outside or inside of Italy! Staff were friendly and honest when one of our pizzas was burnt and this was a valuable gem in an otherwise expensive area. Two pizzas and a bottle of wine for € 24! Yum!

I went there yesterday for dinner and it was the most terrible restaurant experience I have ever had. Firstly the service was very poor. We waited around 10 minutes before we were even offered a menu. The staff weren’t very friendly when we ordered. I had the cannelloni and my friend had a steak and fries. The food was ok– the portion was not substantial given the price. I did see some pizzas being served and they looked nice. While I was not impressed with the quality of the food or the service I didn’t complain… However, in the middle of our meal a dying MOUSE fell onto our table from the baskets hanging from the ceiling!!! We were shocked and immediately moved away the table. As if this wasn’t horrific enough, the staff just laughed at our reaction and proceeded to kick the dead mouse outside the front door. One staff member even had the audacity to suggest that it was my friends fault for leaving the front door ajar when she entered the restaurant. Naturally we decided to leave the restaurant. Then a staff member followed us outside and demanded that we pay for our half eaten meal. When we refused he threatened to call the police. We still refused to pay and walked away from the restaurant. This was easily the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. I will definitely be reporting them to the relevant authorities as clearly there is a problem with rodents. The blasé attitude of the staff towards the presence of the mouse(as well as the lack of any apology!) suggests that they don’t have any hygiene standards at this establishment.

Food quality: more than acceptable pizza and pasta. I’ve been several times in this place and they give you a good balance between quality and price. Place: in the heart of Rembrandtplein of Amsterdam. A nice place where to continue the party with many bars and clubs. The restaurant is small and the space between tables a little bit tight, but enough. At the entrance you can see how they prepare the pizzas in the oven. Service: acceptable. It’s quite fast. Normally you don’t have to wait more than 15 min. Price: it’s very affordable. For 12 or 15 euros you can have dinner perfectly. Relation between price and quality is great.

Despite what the other reviews said, we went for lunch and got pizza and pasta. Both came out within 10 minutes and were good. The pizza is good, may not be up to the Italian standards but definitely close. The pasta was well prepared as well.

Unlike other reviews, we had a pleasant meal here. We sat directly across the pizza oven and was pleased to see the making of our pizza. We ordered a basic margherita pizza and pesto pasta. The pizza was thin, cheesy and delicious. The pesto was also nice. Portion size of the pasta and the pizza was what we expected for 7.50 € and 8.50 €. With two beers, our total was only 20 €. Highly recommend.

Both pastas we ordered were stale. Garlic bread was horrid. Service was awful. Server forgot to get fries.

Sort of a dumpy place we stopped in that was close to our hotel. Right near the Rembrandt square in a central area. Service was OK. We had an anti-pasta starter of cured meats and cheese that was quite a small portion for the price of about 12 Euro. However their spaghetti carbornara was outstanding in flavor.

Pizza :) Close to the main Rembrandt square and the movie theaters. They are not Italian and they do not speak Italian. The service is not really good. on the contrary. it is bad but in a way that it is funny and almost pleasant. With my friends we keep going before the movies for that reason. cheap! The Pizza is ok, depends a lot from the pizzaiolo… but over all acceptable… and for the price. totally place to snap and punish a margherita… for 8 Euro you get a pizza and a medium beer. You do not have to mind about food smell on your clothes. and you are ready to go! Side note. if you want to exaggerate… and get a dessert, the tiramisu is BIG. very big… and not bad at all.
