The most relaxing place I have ever eaten. The vibe is so great in here and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The place was so cozy and the food was spectacular. It’s pricey but really worth it for great quality vegan food in an awesome environment. The ice cream was sooooo good and so was everything else we ordered

Nice ambience, Buddhism themed wall art, Asian feel. Friendly staff. Vegetarian and vegan. Colorful & flavorful fusion cuisine including Indian, Middle Eastern, Southeast Asian, Italian, and Mexican inspired dishes.

Loved all of it! The food is delicious, creative, and well-balanced. There’s Indian food, Mexican food, Japanese food etc. Most foods are vegan or can be made vegan if requested. The main dishes are a little pricey, but the portion sizes are generous. I was completely stuffed. The inside of the restaurant is decorated really nicely, and feels cozy. You can sit around a normal table with chairs, or you sit around a low table on a floor covered in carpets and cushions, Japanese style. And the best part: There’s doggies walking around! Well, to be exact, there’s one adult shih-tzu dog and there’s one shih-tzu pup. We got to hold and pet the pup for as long as we wanted. Will definitely come again.

Soup was about 5EUR, main meal was 20EUR(SE Asian Curry). With a drink and desert the bill goes up quickly to 35EUR per person. I loved the soup, but I think that the curry was really so small in size that it left me wanting more. Maybe vegans are used to eating smaller portions, but I am not. I would expect vegan/vegitarian food to be bigger in quantity, since you need to get all of your calories from food that contains more water than meat in comparison. Staff was extremely friendly, and the service was great! Don’t expect so much privacy if you come in the group of 2 though, you might have someone sitting just next to you.

When I moved to Amsterdam a few years ago vegetarian and healthy food was not a «thing». It was hard to find, I always had to eat the sides or just pasta. It’s getting better in the past years. But this place! This place jas always been my go to place. And still is! The atmosphere here is great. Chill, nice, calm. But the food! Ohhhh the food! I think that by now I have already tried every dish on the menu and can’t figure out which one is my favorite so far. All of them were soooooo goooood! Filling, healthy, delicious. The place to go, even if you’re not a vegetarian. You will enjoy the food any ways.

Really satisfied with our visit here. We didn’t have a reservation but got a table on the topfloor(loft), but I think it could be a good idea to book before. It is a beautiful place with a nice atmosphere and the food was really fresh. We ate some starters and then the risotto, asian stew and indian thali. All really good. A few of us are vegan and the menu was very really satisfying for us. The raw food deserts was also yummy. I really recommend this place!

I arrived in Amsterdam and after checking into my place on Utrechtsestraat, was looking for something healthy but filling to eat, in a place that had some atmosphere. Luckily I stumbled upon this place right away. The service was very prompt and friendly. They had a great selection of teas and juices, and even the tap water came infused with lemon, strawberry, and mint. The Indian Kitcheree platter was delicious. But the best part were the paintings on the walls. Brilliantly colored and mesmerizing, with spiritual motifs that gave the place a very zen-like, yoga studio vibe. Will definitely be returning on my short Amsterdam visit.

The service is very good. However the food was just ok, nothing surprising. The prices are high for the quality or presentation of the food. The ambient is relaxed and enjoyable. We even have a dog sitting next to us.

Waited a long time between starter and main course. Soup was good however the pizza and South Asia curry was just ok. Waited another 10 min for bill after requesting several times. Would not recommend.

Oh no! They changed the menu. My guess is that some nutty consultant convinced the ownership to offer half the food at twice the price. So sad… This was my favorite spot in Amsterdam until now.

Lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Upstairs you can sit on pillows on the floor which is very cozy, but a bit inconvenient for eating. The food is good but lacked a bit of spice in my opinion. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice, vegetarian food experience!

What a fantastic restaurant! Great atmosphere combined with best vegetarian food. Even myself as a non-vegetarian had a great experience! The green enchilada had an amazing taste and so did their Sauvignon Blanc. The indian dish and the Traditional Mexican tasted amazing as well. At first, this place might seem a bit pricy, but mind that you also pay the nice atmosphere and the great service! The only I can critize are the small dishes. If you’re hungry, you might consider their desserts(which are amazing, of course). Anyway, our blonde waitress with curly hair was extremely nice and welcoming –kudos to you! So it’s still five stars for this nice place in the middle of Amsterdam!

We were visiting Amsterdam on vacation and stumbled into this gem on our first night. I don’t think there was so much as a spot of sauce left on either of our plates. Everything was beyond delicious and the service was wonderful. We topped our dinner off with an out of this world banana cream pie. Needless to say we came back again before our vacation ended. This restaurant(along with all the other charms of Amsterdam) makes me sad that I don’t live there!

Alright Unilocalers. Full disclosure: I almost don’t want to spread the word about this ahhhhhmazing Gods-gift-to-human vegetarian palace on qte but touristy Utrechtsestraat. I might just love the the feeling of keeping it to myself a little too much, like a yummsy little secret heaven to sneak away to and boost myself with enough energy to cope with this shitty world for another week or two. But no. I must share this. No veg*an out there within a 50 miles radius should wander around unknowingly about this place. All food is organic, or as they explain on the menu: ’98% — not all spices we use are available organic. We are working on the last two percent.’ Guess what, Golden Temple? I forgive you. All food on the menu is veg*an(vegetarian with many vegan options), and the main influence is oriental — Indian and southeast asian — and Mexican. The result of the two or three cooks prepping the food in the open kitchen in the back of the restaurant is a true explosion of flavours and sensation. It is authentic and heavenly. My first meal was the cheese-drenched enchilada with black beans, salsa and a fresh mango salad — not too life altering at the sound of it, but surprisingly well put together with interesting flavours that hooked arms and danced down my throat. For starters I can recommend the Vietnamese rice paper spring rolls, fresh and delicate just as they should be — served with a peanut saté for dipping. Brought me back to Vietnam in an instant where I have had my most life changing meals so far. Extremely good. The Pakora — deep fried veggies with a mint chutney dip, had us almost get into a fist fight over the last, crumbled piece. Do not miss. Feeling for something a little more western?(I forgive you, you might be making a wise choice here) — the Nutty goat pizza with pumpkin, rolled onion, goat cheese and walnuts was equally incredible. Extremely tasty, and the crust justified the slightly longer waiting time — you just cant get a crust like that at the local pizza joint. The environmemt is so friendly, so relaxed. The owner is chatty and has that outlandish Portland kinda hippie vibe that makes a part of you want to jump on his back and whisper ‘take me with you’. A cute little pommeranian is hanging out and will maybe crawl up next to you and fall asleep if you pet her frequently. She will grunt, sometimes loudly, but I think it is of pleasure. Did I make my point clear? You need to visit this place and realize that it knows what is up in the world right now. But dont go to often. I still wanto be able to roll up at 6 on a friday and get a table. Deal?

The deco is unique and very tranquil. There is one table along the window where you can sit on the floor, with tons of pillows. The staff are very friendly. The food is delicious! I had the soup of the day which was an Indian lentil soup. It came with two pieces of warm pita bread. I have tried many lentil soups and many pita breads before. Golden temple’s offering is definitely on the top! They also offer organic no sugar added pie, all three of them look interesting and very tempting. You can order half of each together for about 10 Euros. I think I will try all three pies next time.

A friend and I were searching for a place in the neighbourhood to eat some dinner, she wasn’t down for Orential takeaway, or any of the cafés along the street and everywhere else was pretty full. So we ended up stumbling I to the Golden Temple. Having travelled to Japan I have actually seen the golden temple but that’s another story. Service was sub par, you can never get a dutch waitress’s attention but that’s typical. No reductions there The ambiance of the place was suuuunuper chill, the music was mellow and at the front of the store you can sit on what is basically a mountain of blankets while you enjoy your food. We ordered one of the pizzas which was alright… I mean it tasted pretty good for being really good for you! Gluten free, sweet potatoes etc… You could defs finish a pizza to yourself but she only had one slice having ate prior so I had the other 3. Will I go back? Hm… There’s other places I want to try! But check it out yourself!

This is how you get fat vegetarians. Delicious, if fatty, food in a relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff, a good experience overall. I gather it was a busier day than most, with the Amsterdam gay pride parade slowly partying its techno-happy way down the canals surrounding the restaurant. For this, I will forgive the somewhat slow service and the fact that our starter arrived with our main courses. The starter itself, hummus and pita, was quite small. I had the«burrito» and she had the salad with beets and goat cheese. Delicious, even though not a burrito by most definitions, but I don’t care what you call it, corn tortillas with beans and smothered in cheese will never be a bad thing. The salad was served with some nicely seasoned pita bread, complementing the soft goat cheese wonderfully. They make some nice blended juice creations which my wife had, and I enjoyed a couple organic Dutch beers. A very good experience, I will look to come back here if we return to Amsterdam.

Visited this place after looking at the 4 and 5 star reviews and since we are vegetarian plus we happened to be staying on the prinsenboat right around the corner. I had 2 big misses with this place — we ordered the mezze platter at over 16 euros you should get a satisfying mediterranean meal but the falafels were small and just ok and the cous cous bland. I ordered the vegetable stew as part of my mezze — it was just potato and peas in a tomato gravy — seemed like they were going Indian with this but decided not to go the whole way and called it a stew and made it Mediterranean. The place is very expensive for the quantity of food. All in all it’s neither Mediterranean nor Indian and doesn’t find the right mix My husband kids and I loved sitting at the window seat — you have to take your shoes off and have adi shakti the restaurant dog for company.

Great food, menu and atmosphere for vegetarians and whole food lovers. Wish there was one near our home in California. It would be one of our local favorite restaurants. Indulging our vegetarian restaurant preference while traveling isn’t always easy. The Golden Temple was a real delight. For a main course we shared the Mezze Platter which consisted of fresh bread, hummus, tofu & broccoli kebab over rice, chick peas & vegetable stew and yam curry. It was wonderfully prepared and presented. We enjoyed it immensely and finished every bit of it. We would be hard pressed to pass the Mezze Platter up on a return visit. For an appetizer we had the cheese and bean nachos. It was fabulous tasting but not a very big serving. We could have eaten twice as much… but then we might of ruined ourselves for the Mezze Platter. The carrot, ginger and celery juice cocktail was very tasty and refreshing. Bottom line, if you are vegetarian in Amsterdam, you must try this place. If you are a raw food lover and want a special restaurant experience, visit their website and make reservations at lead a day in advance. You don’t need reservations unless you are going for the raw food experience.
