The woman was super friendly taking our order. The food was excellent. I was very pleased with this find. I love gyoza

The name almost sang to me… Dim Sum Now… Austen you must eat Dimmmmmmmmm Summmmmmmmmmmmmm NOW! It worked, before I knew it I was suggesting we pop in for a couple of dumplings before we went out for our actual dinner. Like dumplings would just be a wee pre dinner, dinner… You know what I mean. The inside was surprising as it felt more like an Ikea restaurant than a normal Chinese dumpling place. It was also white walls and scandi feeling in terms of décor. They menu had various mixed options of dumplings or gyozas and we just got a small mixed basket of dumplings to share.(Along with a Tsing Tao on the side). I am afraid when the actual food came out it was slightly disappointing. The dumplings to me seemed just to perhaps have been frozen ones that were reheated to serve. They did not taste authentic at all, in fact they were a little bit tasteless in my opinion. This place is trying to jump on the world wide«dumplings must take over the world» bandwagon(maybe that’s just me), but they fall short of the mark in terms of quality and it is not like they are cheap either. Not one I would go back to I am afraid. 3 stars max… but two for me.

Love it! Totally recommend the gyoza mix, was amazing and they have so many options. The place is a little small, they have a sitting area for like 15 persons, but everything is clean and the staff is really nice! The don’t accept cash, so make sure you have your card

Being new to a city I’m all about finding my new favorite spots and being Asian also includes dim sum. I’ve walked by Dim Sum Now many times in the neighborhood and finally was able to try it. Menu/Food: The menu is limited. We ordered the dumpling mix(5 pieces come in an order), the gyoza mix(5 come in an order), the shanghai bun, and lastly the bbq bun. What I didn’t like is that you couldn’t choose which flavors of anything in your order. When you ordered the dumplings you received all five flavors so if you don’t eat meat, fish or chicken you’re screwed because you’re getting them no matter what. At least with the buns you can choose which flavor you like. What was surprising to me is when we received our bamboo trays and I uncovered the buns there was only one — one bun for 2.50?! The food overall was below average in taste and seemed frozen to me. I’ve eaten a lot of dim sum in my life all over the world(Hong Kong, Vancouver, NYC, London) and you can tell it wasn’t fresh. Service: The service was good and very friendly. Seating: The space is small with limited seating. There are 4 seats at the window which is nice because you can people watch while you eat, another 4 seats at a bar area next to the counter, and then a big table in the back with about 10 seats or so. So I recommend claiming your spot if it’s crowded before ordering. Cost: The dumpling mix, the gyoza mix, two buns and one bottle of water came out to 20 €. Expensive for what you received. Would I go back? No, unfortunately. It was way too expensive for what you received and the food was below average.

Was excited to visit this place cos it seemed nice and charming. But the food was really a disappointment. I had the dumpling XL + a pork bun and bbq bun. Really small portions + the dumplings were undercooked, dough was chewy and dry. Filling also didn’t seem fresh. The buns were like cotton balls with dry filling. Also the taste was bland. The only things that seemd ok were the edame beans and the jasmin tea. But you can’t really mess that up so. I’ll spend my 15 euro’s elsewhere next time.

Very small portions and expensive prices for what you receive. They have to reconsider how to plan their menu as the portions are not generous. I am hoping for improvements since this is a new business

I’m a big Dim Sum fan(who isn’t, right?) so I was excited to see there was a new Dim Sum joint close to my new place. It was a cold night when we walked over and were initially happy to feel the warmth as we walked through the door, but quickly realized it was so warm because there seemed to be no proper venting, the place was a literal steam bath. It’s fantastic to see them steaming the dumplings right there in front of you, but a little bit of ventilation would go a long way. We ordered some dumplings, buns and edamame and had a seat at the community table. The service was friendly though the girl taking our order didn’t seem to know the menu very well; the order was delivered fairly quickly. The dumplings were tasty, but fairly dried out. Considering there is not variety to choose from, meaning the dumplings are all a consistent form and size, this shouldn’t happen. The BBQ pork bun and custard buns were fantastic. The edamame was edamame. Overall the food was pretty good, but not a great value for the pretty hefty price. I’ll give the place a few more months to get on it’s feet and then try it again, but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it unless you want a quick BBQ bun snack.

Great dim sum! Adorable place, it’s very cute, and the dumplings are great. I was happy that they had more than one vegan option. Would definitely recommend!

Nice spot. A little pricey but good. Really loved the bbq pork buns… They are the best. I could eat 5 or 6 as a snack.

Very excited to try this new restaurant the other day but sadly it fell very short. On my first try visiting I went for a late lunch. After being ignored for 15 minutes, not even a friendly hello from the cook who was standing three feet from me, I left. Tried again the next day and was able to order this time. The dim sum was clearly hand made but of very poor quality. Everything was very bland and there were very limited options. Best part of Dim Sum is having so many great things to choose from and Dim Sum Now came up woefully short. There are too many other great options in Amsterdam, give this one a pass.

I walk passed this new place the other day on my way to a friends place and I thought«mms looks interesting» The outside is very appealing as it has, in my opinion, a very reminiscent feeling of a dim sum place in Chinatown, NY. Yesterday I decided to try it and to be brutally honest was a very disappointing. We had two of their xl boxes, one of gyozas and another one with the dumplings. They weren’t particularly tasty and they were more on the small size. To top it off we were rushed to eat and literally kick out of the place because the teenager who served us wanted to leave, which it’s fair as we are all entitled to a life, but raises the following question, Why did you take our order on the first place? We should have been warned at least when ordering that they were about to close. Considering the wide range of choices in the area, I think there are better places where to spend your money.
