The CC chain has taken over Amsterdam, and can be found in many areas. Each CC has its own flavour. And yes, the one on the van Woustraat is the CC where they seem to take lots of initiatives to attract visitors. Concerts and exhibition regularly pop up. Expressos are ok, but not in my top 3 for amsterdam. However, that is a matter of taste. Food next to the teller seems to be refreshed only in the morning. If you plan to eat something, check out how fresh it is. Staff behind the counter are very friendly and helpful. You will see lots of locals grabbing a coffee and reading a newspaper. It has become a social hub for the neighbourhood. Only card-payment accepted. Any buy grants you free wifi for a limited time. Tips: — If you like their coffees, get a «strippenkaart». This is like a prepaid coffee card, that gets stamped for each coffee you buy. It gives a nice discount. — For lunch, best to go across the road to the Stach shop. They have a better selection.

Out of all the coffee company cafés we went to while in Amsterdam, this one was our favourite and also very close to our hotel(Volkshotel). Good coffee and a nice place to sit and relax. The wifi is great so you can search where to go to next if you are travelling the city.

This place is the nearest CC location to my house, so whenever I’m bored or want to sit in the sun for a while I go here.(think about going right now as well haha) They have a nice little terrace where you can enjoy some sun and watch the always busy ‘van Woustraat’. Inside there are two floors. Downstairs you can sit by the window at a long table. There is also a big communal table, usually packed with people working and studying. Upstairs is more loungy. There are comfy chairs and couches. The baristas at this place are really nice and friendly(but aren’t they at any CC place?). The thing that is special about this particular location of the CC, is that there are often expositions, pop-up shops and even bands performing(at the tiny little stage). Pretty awesome right?
