Americakes

Good place to find some real American (take away) cupcakes.
I have to admit I’m not a cupcake lover. So, how likely is it for me to like a place that serves predominantly cupcakes.
Conclusion is: yes, I did like the place.
Service was extremely friendly (certainly american standards). The lady who makes the cupcakes advised me on a cupcake with lemon. This turned out to be a good pick. I liked the cupcake, despite my first reservations.
Tip:
— the shop is not very big and has limited seating. Nice to pick up desert for a picknick in nearby Sarphati park, or on one of the benches next to the Amstelriver.
— It is easy to strike up a conversation in the shop. Most visitors are non-​Dutch.

We ordered our wedding cake recently from Americakes and it was fantastic! We went with the rosemary lemon cake with raspberry filling and all of our guests loved it! I also brought in multiple cake designs that I was interested in and Marisa at Americakes was so creative and flexible and was able to do any of them. I finally settled on one design and she worked with a local florist to get beautiful flowers for the top of the cake. When the cake arrived, it looked just as beautiful as the picture. Also the night before, she arranged an amazing carrot cake for a family birthday and it was perfect. Great job, Americakes :)

Americakes is hidden in the area ‘de Pijp’ with amazing cupcakes! They even have very tiny cupcakes with different amazing flavours — my last try was the red velvet and it was oh-​so-​DAMN-​good!
Are you planning a b-​day?
Just order a box of cupcakes with different flavours in combination of a chocolate cake! I promise you that none of your friends will complain about that… sure not one of my friends who attend at my last 30^th b-​dayparty :)
Next to this they serve also great coffee with ice which is a good combinations with their cupcakes or their good looking cheesecakes!

We went back to Americakes again and got some stuffed cupcakes that were chocolate with some kind of delicious filling. I could have eaten a dozen! (These are mini!) She also let us try the raspberry basil brownie which was very good. Didn’t know what to explain with the flavor combo, but it definitely works.
Do yourself a favor and hop of tram 4 at Lutmastraat and take the 1 minute walk to this place to get a little treat for yourself.
The owner is super helpful and even suggested a park nearby to rest at since we were looking for one. High quality product and service!

With my cheesecake levels low and in desperate need of a refill, I ventured to Americakes because of other Unilocaler’s recommendations.
Their menu changes daily and you can see what they have on their FB page, and they had OREO CHEESECAKE!!! Of course I had that with a cup of juice. They also do special orders (a great surprise for Mother’s day this weekend!)

Finally — a proper slice of NY cheesecake! The oreo crust was amazing and it was a really good slice of cheesecake.
This is the place to go if you are missing American baked goods, and I will definitely be back to try more treats!

Americakes is a neighborhood gem and people from the area are constantly dropping by to chat. It literally feels like someone’s living room and Marisa, the owner, makes you feel so at home.

Prices are on-​par with other bakeries, and since it is almost impossible to find a proper slice of NY cheesecake, it was worth every penny.

Well I finally stopped into Americakes to see what was all the hype about these cakes. In addition to being patriotic to my fellow entrepreneur and picking up something sweet for Dutchman. I love the vibe and atmosphere, it’s pretty much relax. I was surprise that these delicious pastries and cakes were super cheap. Perfect place to stop in if your craving something sweet. After just one bite, it seem like Dutchman was in love with Americakes.

i love supporting mom and pop cafes! the owners of this café are very sweet and the she behind the café is a super talented baker. the place is fairly new and i believe it has soo much potential. we tried a few different sweets such as mini cupcakes, a cookie dough bar and one of her new creations, a red velvet cheesecake. all were delicious. prices are very reasonable too. they also have some board games to play. while we were there enjoying our sweets and the owners knowing we were american… they told us they also will be making rice crispy treats!!! OMG!!! i’ve never seen those anywhere in europe! they will also do special orders for birthdays, parties etc.
i will definitely be back to try more of their sweet treats! you can also follow them on facebook where they post photos of all their new creations they make!

A few weeks ago I visited this lovely American styled cupcake shop! I’m a big fan of cupcakes, so when I heard there opened a new cupcake shop near my sister’s I decided to pay a visit! :)
They change their arrangement of cupcakes daily and besides from cupcakes they also sell other cookies and chocolate orientated sweets. I chose to have a ‘cheese cake cookie dough bar’ and ‘California love cupcake’, which were both delicious! As a drink I ordered a tasty American filtered coffee, which got re-​filled for free!
The staff was very nice and friendly and there was also a cat who sometimes decided to chill out with the customers. I personally like animals, so I thought that was very cool! Overall the atmosphere was very nice.
The food was very tasty and the prices were very decent, so I will definately visit again to either sit down and eat some cakes or to get some cupcakes for take-​away :)

If you are craving for something sweet, you have to go to Americakes. Even though Americakes isn’t new, their little café in the Lutmastraat is. They opened this week and I was very excited about going since I love cake, cookies and sweetness!
This little place does not have much decoration yet, but there are a few cute little tables with flowers on them and of course their delish goodies (differant every day); today there were cookies, rocky road cutie petuties, little stuffed cupcakes, cheese cake cookie dough bars, banana bread and strawberries dipped in chocolate. Everything looked so good so I decided to try both a California love cupcake (with cilantro (!), lime and strawberry) and a ‘this road just got rocky’ cutie petutie. Both were sooo good! Also had a bite from the cheese cake cookie dough bar and it was also delicious. We had our cupcakes with some nice coffee that comes with a little can of milk :) And you get refills! The American way!
The people here are also very nice and friendly. This makes it even nicer to come here! Very friendly and in for a chat as well if you like that. And, what I really liked, there is a cat! He is very friendly and cuddly! :)
The prices in this place are great as well. We paid less than 12 for two persons and this included 2 mini cupcakes, 1 cutie petutie, a cookie dough bar, 2 coffee and 2 mini cupcakes for take-​away. How great is that? And this stuff is just the best, so GOGOGO! I will definitely come back! And the fact that there stuff changes daily really makes me want to check it out all the time.

I came across
on Facebook when looking for somewhere to order desserts for my Christmas party. The treats looks so delicious I had to try. At first I was unsure of exactly what I wanted to order and how much for my upcoming party. I contacted americakes with these concerns and received a response very quickly. With the information provided, I decided to get 50 assorted stuffed cupcakes and a cookie platter. Everything was promptly delivered the day of my party for a minimal fee. The cupcakes arrived in beautiful packages with handmade tags for each flavor. The Southern Comfort cupcake was the tastiest red velvet I have tried. The cupcake is stuffed with a creamy vanilla mousse, the perfect surprise inside, topped with a decadent cream cheese icing. My sister said the German Chocolate cupcake stuffed with coconut pecan mousse topped with chocolate buttercream was the perfect chocolate bite. The cookie platter was also displayed beautifully with so many cookie choices. The guests thoroughly enjoyed everything I ordered. I will definitely order again from
when they are baking again in NJ!
