This Coffee Company is located next to my new university. I have always liked this particular location; the building is lovely, the interior cosy because of the extra room in the front with comfy chairs, the long tables and windows overlooking the water, friendly staff and nice terrace where you can watch all the students pass by. But since this isn’t very close to my home, I usually go to other Coffee Company’s, like the one in the ‘van Woustraat’. I think will be spending more time at this place from now on since I’ll be studying in front of this place everyday now. :) So if you’re in the neighbourhood, this is a good place to relax and have a coffee and if you are going to do some people watching on the terrace you’ll probably see me, as being on of those students, passing by.

Great place when you want a decent coffee. You can regard it as the Dutch Starbucks. Concept and coffee flavors are more or less the same.

This is an actual coffee house, not the«coffee shop» you go in to get some grass. I love Coffee Company, particularly this location due to it’s location being almost in the center of everything. The place has that modern eclectic feel with minimalist décor, in which I love! Coffee here are decently priced, at only around € 3 for a medium cup of cappuccino. I love ordering their caramel cappuccino! They also have very tasty pastries here, and from my understanding(from conversation with the barista) they are freshly baked every morning. I suggest their apple pie! Tasty! The place also offers free Wi-Fi for customers who purchased something. To use the Wi-Fi just ask for your receipt and the login will be on the receipt and its good for one hour. Free Wi-Fi in Europe, it’s rare but becoming more common these days! So, if you are in Amsterdam and want some coffee, latte, or something to that sort I suggest coming here, I guarantee you will not be disappointed!

This is an amazing coffee shop and perhaps the most popular chain in Amsterdam when it comes to coffee shops that are not places where you buy pot. This one is in the same building that houses the NH Doelen(the oldest hotel in Amsterdam) and has views of the canal from the lounge that faces the bridge. This is a very friendly place and is close to everything in Amsterdam: University of Amsterdam, Red Light District, and almost walking distance to the museums. I enjoyed having a latte here in the mornings. Free wi-fi with purchase.

I miss Coffee Company. They were my first stop every morning before heading out to explore Amsterdam. Most days were rainy, and this place was my refuge. I would grab a seat facing the canals and watch the boats float by. The sound of the rain pitter-pattered on the windows, which were kept open because of the humidity. But it was peaceful. No loud, obnoxious conversations and impromptu business meetings like you’d find in an American Starbucks. My absolute favorite thing to get here is the Mars, which coincidentally is also my family’s nickname for me :) It must be a sign! I asked the barista what was in it, but the language barrier resulted in an answer I couldn’t quite comprehend. And their pastries were freshly baked each morning and oh-so amazing. On your receipt, you’re given a code that gives you free wi-fi for an hour. And in Europe, free wi-fi is almost unheard of. I stayed next door in the NH Doelen, and it was cheaper to come here and buy a cup of coffee than to pay hotel wi-fi charges. They close somewhat early, which is unusual for a city where business stay open well into the night. I’d like to think I’ll be back someday, to find a little peace on a rainy day.
