Super cool shop full of classic specialty goods from all over Europe. Teas, mustards, candies and lots of other items. The attendant was super friendly and very informative on the history of each item. Many of the goods have been around for hundreds of years! Don’t miss this shop during your trip to Amsterdam!

If you have any hipster in you or an interest in cultural history, this is a fun store to check out. I loved the theme of products that are basically unchanged for decades. such as the scented French burning papers that work like incense. This would be four stars but I found the salesperson to be overly attentive/pushy when I went.

I completely adored this shop. So many wonderful things to purchase in this shop. You name it and they got it. Perfect place to shop for gifts or if you just like treating your self to the best. Het Hanze Huis is an exceptional shop in Amsterdam. They only select quality manufacturers that have been producing products from the year of 1800. They have three shops located in Groningen, Zwolle and Amsterdam. I had a lot of fun shopping in here.

I have walked by this place dozens of times thinking it was just a tea shop, then I read a review of the place in a newspaper article and stopped by, they sell so much great stuff! Lots of hard to find candy and chocolate, right now they are selling these amazing trash cans… I know that sounds weird, but they are seriously cool.

Adorable store! Everything they sell is from companies that have been around at least 100 years. How cool is that! It is a cute store, on a corner. Most of the packaging looks«old timey», lots of fun and interesting treats, and fun! Anise mints, teas, old time cookies! Lots of great gifting opportunities!

Accidental discovery, but wow am I glad I discovered this spot! First off, it’s not just for coffee and tea, in fact, I don’t think they even have coffees. What they do have is specialty food from all over Europe. The store is spread out over 2 small floors and there’s not much place to walk around, although it helps because there’s just so much new and good stuff everywhere. For example, I had heard of Armenian burning paper for air refreshing before, but they actually had a few varieties of it in store. Climb upstairs and you’d run into a great selection of some Russian teas in varieties of flavors and sizes. There’s also different kinds of snacks and natural toothpaste. A lot of foods were in classy tins and fancy packaging. There were quite a few kinds of chocolates as well. The two ladies were really excited to share more information the origin and quality of the foods and snacks. It was a pleasure to spend as much time as I did in store. During checkout, they can wrap your purchase up for gifting or for international travel. They also insert little pamphlets that contain the story behind the product, which is a great touch. I also ended up buying two tins of Dutch stroopwafels to gift. There’s also quite a lot of stuff on sale. Definitely a must see spot on your RLD tour, but be prepared to spend on some great goodies!
