The bar is tiny and low ceiling with dark walls but well lit otherwise: gives it a good cozy feel. The staff are knowledgable and helpful. The service was fast and good.

Stopped here randomly on a nice summer evening. I told my husband we would be eating at the next restaurant we saw, and this place happened to be it. We sat outside at a nice table with a canal view. The servers were very friendly and explained the specials to us. The food was outstanding! We started with the mussels, which were a meal in itself. The server looked perplexed when we each ordered entrees on top of the mussels. When the mussels came out, we realized why. There were so many, we couldn’t even finish them! Our entrée portions were very large as well. My husband had chicken with some sort of Asian peanut sauce. I had the salmon special that was absolutely divine! If you’re in the area, definitely stop by for some food, beer and great people watching!

Visited on recommendation from a local Dutch friend. Has canal view near University of Amsterdam. Had a tap Jupiler beer, open-faced cold chicken sandwich, and bitterballen. Sandwich was pretty good, but bread was a bit difficult to cut into(even with fork/knife) and would’ve liked some more meat. Bitterballen were on point. Service was friendly but a little slow — got appetizer 20 minutes after the sandwich — but the view made up for it. Bottom Line: Nice patio for a drink and people watching.

Great spot. We stopped in here after an afternoon of just wandering around and taking in Amsterdam. Cuter little café with a nice beer selection. We sat at the bar and ordered some snacks and a couple Palms. Meatball and toast, bitterwallen, and old cheese. All three were very good, the meatball being my favorite. Service was great, and if I lived in Amsterdam it would be a regular spot for me. Definitely check it out if you are strolling through the neighborhood.

A great local hangout. Tourists do make their way in because of its location, but it is not overwhelmed by them. The staff is friendly and engaging. There is outdoor seating for the days when the weather complies. The drinks are stiff and tasty. The music is a good mix of decades and styles. It is dark and a little dingy, so it is not for everyone. The place has a lot of character though, so there is always a chance for a good time.

Stopped for a Sunday afternoon drink… well. .why not get also something small to crunch… flameties(small spicy spring rolls) and some Oude Amsterdam cheese blocks… perfect match to a fresh beer. We sat on the terrace which is right on the street. A bit too noisy but if it is a great afternoon like it was… no problem. The waitress was great. smiling and very very nice… pity she went off and the replacement was a very cumbersome and NOT smiling guy… who i had almost to beg to get the bill and pay. next run I will just walk away if it is so difficult to get to pay… right? :) Take a seat and enjoy anyway… you really feel the beating of the city.

A bit on the chilly side but clearly a popular haunt for food as we were lucky to get a table just for a beer. Probably one to re-visit for a more rounded
