Senjyu

Senjyu in Bangsar is one of the better Japanese restaurants around in terms of food quality and taste. The sashimi here is fresh and tasty — and the portions are relatively big. However I can’t say much about the service. We came here without making a booking but got a table almost immediately, however, it took at least half an hour for our main dishes to come out and by that time we were already quite annoyed and famished.
One of the dishes also came out wrong — I ordered the chicken teriyaki with soba but got the chicken teriyaki rice set instead. When I came it was fairly empty, most likely because it was a Tuesday evening. Staff were quite friendly although for the most part, I felt that they were quite incompetent and could be further improved on.
So other than the less-​than-​desirable service we received, the food was good and delicious — in particular the sashimi and the chicken teriyaki soba noodles.
Our hot green tea refills kept coming and were free, which is quite the standard for most other higher-​end Japanese restaurants. Oh and expect to pay a bit more at this place since it is located in the more affluent neighbourhood of Bangsar! Will not be coming back any time soon as there are other better non-​Japanese restaurants in the area that I love and frequent. However, if youre craving Japanese food and you’re in the area, pop by Senjyu and give it a try!

I’ve just had lunch at this restaurant and I’m so happy I did. A friend has recommended this place multiple times before I actually decided to go in and today after shopping and Bunster Village for a bit I decided to finally go in and give it a try.
The gyoza was perfect! And since that is my absolute favorite thing in Japanese cuisine I’m super happy. I also had a salmon combo, which was also quite nice. The food took a little bit to arrive but when he did it was simply delicious.
The service was really nice and friendly and I’ve had a very nice experience at this restaurant.

This is one of the few Japanese restaurants in bangsar area, and especially in bangsar village, but this is for sure one of the premium ones with really good Japanese food.
My friend and i came here after looking all over bangsar village to fix our cravings for some Japanese cuisines and for sure it was in no way disappointing.
They do have some set meals here, but one thing i really enjoy here is their sashimi. They have a wide selection of different fishes for you to choose from and on top of that, they do have seasonal specials as well, which are really fresh, and those are the varieties that you don’t get all the times!
The environment here is rather dimmed light, a very nice place for after work dinner and catch up with friends. It doesn’t get too noisy even at dinner hours, so it’s a pretty relaxing place.
Although the prices here are a bit more expensive than the average ones, I still personally think that their foos are worth the price.
