If you care for your skin and your soul, you will most likely like neal’s yard. Literally what the name says, they provide organic skin care products and oils which are of good ethics, as vague as good ethic products could sound, you will actually believe them after they sample their products to you. I came here with my friend and have found out that they do have a wide range of essential oils here which are surely more expensive than the average ones, but once you get to know their making process, you’d believe that you do want their products too. After all, essential oils are mean to bring therapeutic effect, so what’s the point of simply getting those not so good ones even at a cheaper price? I have yet to convince myself to try their skincare but I’m a regular for their oils now, so if you’re ready to splurge on getting some good oils too, this is the place.

I never really noticed Neal’s Yard until recently even though I’m a regular in Bangsar Village. Upon entering I discovered that they sell the pure essential oils that I’m used to burning with my tea candles at home! I usually have to get mine shipped all the way from Bangkok as I love burning those scents in my house. Of course its much more expensive here than getting it from Bangkok. Keep in mind that the real essential oils are different from your usual perfume oils that are sold for about RM10 a bottle. The trick to knowing the difference is that essential oils are all priced differently depending on what scent it is. Perfume oils however, are usually imitation scents and are all priced for the same amount regardless of the scent.

«Ethical Organic Skin Care.» Those words were sprawled across the signage and I thought to myself what an interesting remark it was. This UK brand offers certified organic health and beauty products. I guess that certification was the operating word behind the whole tagline. The store is situated on the first floor of Bangsar Village II. What I simply love about the store is that it didn’t look like the typical health and beauty store. It was like I was transported into a laboratory. It was clean and very well kept. The bottles were all in dark blue and in various different forms. Kind of like the chemical beakers found in a lab. I almost felt like a witch doctor excited to brew my new love potion. But the potions were already pre-mixed and all I had to do is whip out my bag of gold coins and pay nice lady behind the counter. They had everything from lotions to soaps to masques and toners. Your one stop beauty center made from all things organic and natural. An ill thought came into my mind as I was writing this article, «if these products were 100% organic and natural, did they test it out on animals?» I’m sure its not, that wouldn’t be very ethical of them.
