Grungy, dark with mediocre food, which never changed. I ate there once, to my horror, and poked my head in now and then hoping things looked better… the atmosphere, stuff on people’s plates. Nope. NOW thrilled that the Orcas Park Café is open, and it’s GOOD. Like change, sometimes change is good.

This place has been closed for over two weeks and workers are moving the stuff out. Too bad, I liked their bacon cheeseburgers and teriyaki chicken. R.I.P. Sandwich Shop.

There is nothing special about this place and I think it’s overpriced compared to all the other delish places in the area there are to eat at. Anybody who goes here must be solely based on how close it is to their job. Even so, walk down to Airport way… eh.

Conveniently located from my work and seviceable food. I recommend the clam chowder and egg salad sandwich.

The Sandwich Shop has a nice variety of soups and sandwiches to feed the hungry lunch crowd. But alas, I’ve never tried those because I always get a burger. It costs me about eight bucks for a tasty, char-broiled hamburger, a plate full of fries and a soda. The service is quick and the ambiance is clean and quiet. I’m thankful that they close in the early afternoon, because I don’t think I could resist the temptation to stop in after work for a quick, fattening snack.

I would love to say that the food here is fantastic but often times, it is due to location that this shop is frequented so often by myself and/or my co-workers. It’s a family run shop and the service is always fast unless you’re ordering something fried then of course it takes a few mins as it needs to be cooked up. Their chicken strips and fries are gigantic in size if you’re into that. It seriously needs to be split between two people as I tried to take an order myself and had to throw away most of the crinkle cut fries as it was just too much food.

this is my very first Unilocal review because I just have to share. that I came here and the woman came out from the back to help me and the one other customer in front of me. She didn’t wash her hands and started making his cold sandwich with bare ungloved hands. I didn’t eat and won’t be back. :(

The Sandwich Shop is a nice, no frills sandwich shop. Burgers, cold sandwiches, soup, chips, and not much more and yet it is pretty wonderful. I love the T.A.B. sandwich — turkey, bacon, avocado, lettuce and tomato. It is delicious! Yeah, it’s going to cost between $ 8 – 10, but that seems standard fare these days. The people are nice, but very business oriented. The bathroom is in need of updating, and the décor is a few decades old but the food is good!

Definitely a no frills operation. The online menu doesn’t match what they really have. They don’t really seem like they care.

I miss this place! I ate there daily! They have great prices for the seattle area and provide service with a smile and some freindly conversation! Their curry rice is to die for! I recomend stopping by lunch some day! I

I tried the Orcas Burger based on Ashley’s recommendation. It was pretty good, but without a drink it still came to over $ 8 with a $ 1 tip. IMHO it was not worth that. Don’t get me wrong, it was a pretty good sandwich. But when I am looking for lunch I usually want to spend around $ 5 unless I am getting something fancy. This was not fancy. The fries were nothing special as well. Lower the price by a buck and you probably would have gotten 4 stars from me. I did like that I was able to call the phone number listed on here and order it to go and it was ready for me when I arrived about 10 min later. I am amazed that this place is even in business, it is totally hidden from any major roads. It must get by from servicing all the design places surrounding it.

This is a typical sandwich/soup/salad kind of place. Plenty of seating and they have a parking lot. I’m not too excited about this place because it’s all food I could make at home cheaper; mind you, it’s not that I’m saying it’s expensive, it’s just very basic sandwiches. You’d really only come here if you A) worked in Georgetown, and B) forgot your lunch.

I was a little harsh last time. I no longer get sick when eating here, and actually quite enjoy making the trek down there for lunch. The folks who run the place are friendly and hard-working, and I’m glad to support them. The daily sandwich/soup specials are a pretty good deal too.

I miss this place SOMUCH! I used to go here pretty much every week at least once for lunch when I worked in the neighborhood. It’s a great local American place. And apparently a little-known treasure since I am the first to Unilocal. I highly reccommend the Orcas burger which is amazing chicken, ham, cheese, mayo, tomato and mmmm good. It comes with fries. I am addicted to it. Writing this review I am now planning my escape back to Seattle just so that I can have one. The salads and the soups are also good. You can also sit outside or odder over the phone to go and then come by and grab it without having to wait in the cafeteria style line which can get pretty long during lunch hour as I think a lot of the Design Center people are wise enough to come here.
