I can only speak about their sandwiches and I absolutely love them. My brother lives just around the block and every time I go out for a visit I end up at this place once or twice during my visit, scarfing down a Quad. They have a small variety of Italian style and other yummy sandwiches that they warm up on a press. Solid choice if you are in the area for lunch

Big, thick, square slices of really good pizza… I know they have other stuff on the menu, but I always go back to that!

If you’re looking for the best pizza slice in West Seattle’s Alaska junction, this is it! The owner of West Seattle’s gem Pizzeria 22 brings you a thicker crust, truly Italian street-style pie. With carefully selected ingredients and authentic craftsmanship, this pizza is superb and the obvious choice over the neighborhood’s other options. Tucked away just off of California Ave, the adorable red awning and red bistro chairs outside add to the charming ambiance. The staff is great and service just the right balance of friendly and efficient for when you just want to grab a slice and go.

LOVE the sandwich’s here! Although the prices are a bit expensive, worth it in my opinion. Although as a student, I can’t afford to eat here often. Staff is always super friendly and go out of their way to make sure your a happy customer.

They truly have the best Caesar salad! It’s fresh, good portion, and not to heavy. I have taken 5 or 6 of my friends there and they all haven fallen in love with this little gem in West Seattle. If you like Pizzeria 22, try this place. Same owner. Gotta try it!

This really is a one star establishment but they get a second star for being a local small business. I stopped in during the Summerfest with the intention is patronizing a small business and order an iced coffee. I was taking a gander at their sandwiched in the cold case, but they were all over $ 9.50 and very small… pass. I stuck to my original plan and ordered a triple iced Americano. Unfortunately, they don’t have ice. THEYDON’T HAVEICE!!! Ughhh I could understand not having ice if we were in ummmm maybe an underdeveloped country, but we are in West Seattle. I said thanks and left. Won’t be coming back.

We picked up a slice of the Veggie, 4-Cheese and Pepperoni to snack on while we watched the fireworks. It’s nice to have a pizzeria that offers a break from a NY style crust. Since they offer the pizza to you reheated from room temp(though to be fair Bakery Nouveaux and Pizzeria Gabbiano follow this formula also), it’s hard to remark on the quality versus how it would taste fresh, granting the competition quite a leg up right out of the pan. All in all, the slices heat up pretty well in a toaster oven with above average sauce. The pepperoni has a nice kick to it. Good selection of vegetables on Veggie(I gave the red peppers to S :0)). I’d give the 4-Cheese a miss, but it would provide a good base to put your own toppings on it at home if you have a hankering for a good thick crust you’d be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. We’ll return to try one of the sandwiches which looked awesome!

So good! I had the Meatball Sandwich and my wife had the Caesar Salad… Fresh, quality ingredients prepared quickly coupled with friendly service is a great combination and surprisingly hard to find. If you’re in the junction, you should check it out!

Some of the BEST-grilled sandwiches in Seattle can be found at Quadrato in the West Seattle Junction. We enjoyed the Quad — filled with spicy salumi, Pepperoni and cheese served on an extra crispy roll — delicious! Another favorite is the chicken and cheese grilled sandwich. The side of macaroni salad is ho hum — but please go for the sandwich! You can eat inside on stools next to the window or if the weather is nice, there are bistro tables out on the sidewalk. ENJOY!

Awful, awful pizza, and far too expensive to boot. I wanted to like this place, I really did. Was in a rush, just wanted a slice or two to go, was pretty shocked at the sticker price, over 9 dollars for two slices of cheese. These were reheated, and you can’t see them ahead of time. For a vegetarian, there weren’t any other options left, looked like the menu had some veggie option, but I guess they were out of those. After reheating the slices I was anxious to try this, I mean for nine dollars it had to be good, right? So I opened the box, it looked old, tired, and like something I would have bought in a middle-school cafeteria. But, I decided to give it a shot. It was crunchy and that’s it. No other flavor at all. It was really confusing considering I could see that there was clearly cheese, tomato sauce, and what looked to be a decent crust. However none of it had any flavor at all. I’ve had better pizzas from Totino’s and Pizza Hut, and I really don’t eat at those places. I had to make vegetables and garlic at home to add some flavor to the slices, and even then, well… it still wasn’t great. The guy was really cool, I guess other people have had better experiences. For what it’s worth, Pizza Credo is really wonderful, and I wish I had just gone there. It would have taken longer but would have cost around the same price and would have tasted much better, even days later.

Best pizza in West Seattle… period. We love the family style tray pizza like found in Western NY at La Nova Pizzeria and Bocce Pizza in Buffalo. The crust is a little thicker than average and the ingredients are quality. The pizza sauce is slightly sweet… perfect! I hope they can expand and have seating some day; it’s take out only.

Best meatball sandwich in Seattle … … handmade, on a toasted French roll, with great sauce, melty cheese … need I say more? As a bonus, I order the Verde salad and dump on the mac salad side that comes with the sandwich — very tasty! Get yours now because as soon as eating outside is possible in a few weeks, the line will probably be too long.

Love this place. My «go to» is the Inferno. Also: I’m pretty sure that the macaroni salad is laced with crack. I literally crave it. It’s so simple, and so perfect.(A note to Kerry(if you read your reviews) — I stopped in yesterday and asked the man working why I haven’t seen you recently. Sending prayers and well wishes to you and your sweet girls. –Much love, The Flannel Giver)

I ordered the kind grilled cheese and tomato soup. Not a big tomato soup fan, but this was really yummy. Perfect for dipping the grill cheese in. We’ll definitely be back when we’re in the neighborhood again.

I don’t think this review should carry much weight in your analysis to find the best veal meatball sub on the planet. The one at Quadrato’s is the only one I have had and it seems to be well done. I suppose. Maybe there are better veal meatball subs in the world. Veal meatballs, cheese, and red onions makes for a basic sandwich. I have no idea if any or all of it was made in house. I assume it was, including the bread. Okay, maybe not the bread. Maybe it was the time of day or the fact that the meatballs sat in a slow cooker all day or the fact that the sandwich seemed to taste flat. Basically not one part of the sandwich stuck out. Nothing special. I’ll go back for lunch and get a pizza. I bet that is the trick.

Came to Quadrato for a business lunch and ordered the grilled cheese & tomato soup. Both items were absolutely fantastic from beginning to end. I would go back for the tomato soup alone. I wish I could remember the name of the guy who owns and runs Quadrato, I enjoyed talking about Italy with him. Made me want to return to Firenze for another vacation, and possibly stuff as many bottles of Campari into my bag as possible.

Very well done fare here. Meatball sandwich is a sophisticated spin on a traditionally Italian classic. Bread selection is key for Meatball sandwiches, and Quadrato has selected well(Grand Central Bakery). Veal as the main component with a fine balance of salt and savor is key. Other sandwiches are just as well done. Flavors are fresh with a simple approach to allow the produce to stand on their own. Great spot for lunch on a sunny day, but be advised that seating can be limited.

I’ll certainly revise this review later, with more stars hopefully. Need to send a public notice out: beware of the Meatball Sandwich. Tiny, $ 10, bland and some funky bread. Tasted like wheat bread, which not only tastes wrong, its not a pairing I’ve experienced in NYC, NJ, PHL or parts near ORD. Reminds me of PB&J on wheat. Not a good match. I wanted to get the Inferno Sandwich but something in the back of my head said«meatball.» Last time I take advice from a non-registered Unilocaler! I hear the pizza is grubbin’ so I have a reason to come back. Nice, courteous quick service by the way. Hope they stick around. Work on that meatball. Toasted buttered sourdough is a good option(you heard it here first).

This was our first visit to Quadrato. The name is from the Italian for square since the pizza is baked in rectangular pans and served as 6 inch squares(if one orders a slice) but it can also mean level headed or sensible and those apply here as well. Nothing about this space, which is less than 400 square feet in total, is not useful in making or eating the food. The kitchen area is about 10 feet by 10 feet but holds the prep area and a stack with a 20 quart mixer to make dough, a 2 tier, stone lined oven and a display case for bottled beer and sandwiches. The indoor eating area is U shaped, about 10′ by 8′ with counter around the perimeter and 7 sensible wooden bar stools. Above the counter are built in shelves for jars of ingredients and wine storage. In warm weather, slightly more outdoor seating is offered. It is not aiming at Ristorante or even Trattoria but rather bringing the southern Italian, high quality, fast food experience to West Seattle. Plates are paper and utensils are plastic. We started with a full caesar. It is 2 cups of 1 inch square cut lettuce with a vinegar dressing made on site and had minimal cheese but a definite back flavor of anchovy. The only negative of the evening was that the romaine had brown edges on most pieces but was crisp. Croutons are house made and crunchy fresh. There were 3 pizzas offered by the slice the night we were there(a Monday). They were 4 cheese, vegetable and the special with Canadian bacon, pineapple and mozzarella. Slices were ½ inch thick and are par baked ahead of time and then the crust is crisped in the stone lined pizza oven just before serving. Toppings make up about half the thickness and crust is two layers, golden crisp bottom and soft, Italian bread middle. The veg is thick tomato sauce, then mozzarella and ricotta, and finally thin sliced fresh zucchini, mushrooms, sweet red peppers, onions, and garlic. As another reviewer has said, I would rather have 3 choices of this quality than 23 of nothing I would eat. The Meatball sandwich is served on a 6″ by 3″ Grand Central Bakery hoagy roll. It has the same super thick tomato sauce, 3 flattened, mild, house made, veal meatballs that were 1 and ½ inches across and ½ inch thick, onion and partially melted provolone. It comes with a house made, 4 oz., elbow macaroni salad with a light vinaigrette dressing and pickled onion, carrot and celery. The house wines are the same as at the owner’s other shop, Pizzaria 22, a Montepulciano and a Pinot Grigio. Both are Italian and very drinkable. A number of canned beers including Peroni, Guinness, Ranier, and Olympia are offered. Again, think Italian fast food, not Beer Junction. We were offered a cannelloni for dessert but were too full to try it. Quadrato fills a niche well above chain store fast food but not at trattoria level. I don’t have another place to compare it to but I don’t ever give 5* at a first visit.

Fun little ‘hole-in-the-wall’ pizza joint in the Alaska Junction area of West Seattle. Both the place and the pizza they serve remind me very much of the shop next to the hotel I was staying in in Florence. THEROSES: The Alaska Junction is lousy with pizza places, but Quadrato is unique for offering ‘Sicilian’-style(square, thicker slices) of pizza. The pizza is very good, and authentic Sicilian: crisp on the bottom, pillowy-soft inside, with good flavor. Toppings are top-notch, and they don’t overdo it. As I mentioned before, very nice ambiance, and the fellers running the place really make you feel like they appreciate your business. THETHORNS: Selection is a bit on the spare side, pizza-wise, but if I have to choose between lots of choices of humdrum pizza, or slices that are clearly a cut above, I’ll go with the latter every time. The do have a good selection of very nice looking sandwiches. They’re also not exactly a McDonald’s value meal; a slice & a glass of vino will set you back about $ 10, but given the quality, it’s good, if not great, value for money. THEVERDICT: Nice place for a quick slice or a sandwich, and really friendly staff; I say check ‘em out!
