The food here is tasty, unique(but not pretentious), and the atmosphere is warm and relaxing. Try the grilled sardines — they are amazing! The daily specials are consistently delicious and the service is friendly and attentive. Sitting at the bar is a fun way to go… no matter what sort of «food mood» you are in, this is a great dinner spot.

My family has been dining here for a couple of years and I don’t know what’s taken us so long to share our raves for this lovely establishment! First, the wonderful ladies(and gentlemen cooks) who keep the joint running smoothly are just the classiest people, and possess the truest sense of the idea of professional and top-notch service. The staff here handle both family and adult parties with equal amounts competence and warmth. While my wife and I enjoy our foodie experiences with a heaping dose of sophistication — which is no doubt satiated here at every visit — Westcity also accommodates our three year old incredibly well. The menu(with seasonal specials) reflects this harmony of sophistication and simplicity. We love the flavor profiles of almost every small and large dish, which are never overdone, yet always provide a colorfully complex — even at times, old world — experience, all directly inspired from Mediterranean cuisine. They also have plenty of gluten-free options. We highly recommend this restaurant from both an adult and family perspective(particularly for West Seattleites who haven’t been here and who are fed up with the lackluster options in this part of town). This has become our go-to restaurant and we are always greeted so warmly… it almost feels like we’re eating with friends at Westcity. Thank you Andra, et al. We love you guys!

We’re always looking for a good late night nosh and noticed Westcity through Unilocal some time ago. Tried a couple of other places in the area but never made it here until now. That was a mistake — we should have come here first. Serving until 10, that’s a star. Reasonable prices for both food and drinks, another star. Honest and personable serving staff, that’s three. The food put it over the top. A beet salad that made the wife change her mind about beet salad and the baked chicken that made us wonder why we’ve never had chicken like this before. Juicy, crisp, salty. Did I say juicy? With a wonderful roasted potato side so full of garlic it was sweet. One demerit(a half off, really) for the roasted peppers. A generous portion, half of them were great, seasoned perfectly, hot off the grill with a nice cream cheese dip. The other half though were a bit too«al dente» for our taste. Next time I’ll send those back for an extra sear. But there is no question, we will go back — and with reinforcements. There’s just so much more to try.

4.5 stars actually. I can’t believe it took us so long to try this place. It’s a west Seattle gem! The gnocchi and the short rib pasta were great, although I probably would have picked a more robust pasta shape to go with the rich short rib sauce, and the gnocchi were a little too dense for my liking. Had baklava for dessert, and that could have used a little more butter(the crust was a bit soggy.) Still though, everything was pretty tasty — and the thing that sets this place apart is the vibe and service. Our waitress(Chelsea) is probably one of the best servers I’ve ever had. I would come back just for her.

We have been to Westcity many times and have always had a great experience with the food and the service. The sardine butter is amazing as well as all of the other dishes that we’ve had there. This is one of our go to spots in West Seattle. I would highly recommend to anyone!

Drove by the restaurant and decided to give it a try. Service from the start was warm and inviting. The food was inventive and enjoyable. Our waitress made three suggestions — we took all three. We had the sardine salad, truffle fries and a salmon pasta. All was done perfectly. Do yourself a favor — find the restaurant ASAP

What a nice experience! We have live locally for a number of years and have missed the spot somehow on many occasions. It’s somewhat hard to find so you have to keep your eye out and parking can be a bit tricky but is definitely worth it! We have a three-month-old in a bucket seat and I feel like a nuisance at any restaurant nicer than Denny’s. This place is definitely warm, inviting and very accommodating. I don’t know if this was intentional but every waitress they had on stuff tonight was a sweet woman who gave impeccable service. Now to the food! Truffle. Need I say more? Truffle fries was a nice start and I chose the truffle gnocchi. Amazing! This place is a perfect mixture of a nice date out but not so stuffy that you can’t bring your baby in a bucket! Wonderful new place I am so happy it’s in our backyard!

I LOVETHEFOODHERE! The staff is extremely knowledgeable about what they’re serving, which is impressive with such a unique menu. I hope they open for lunch someday. Having to wait till 5pm when they open is brutal, luckily Prost is open for a pre dinner cocktail.

West city is a west Seattle gem. Andra the manager is extremely friendly and her smile lights up any room. Colin in the kitchen does an amazing job of providing fresh, creative dishes that are always cooked to perfection. Highly recommend for a great date night. I’ve tried and enjoyed the cocktails, wine, apps, main dishes and dessert and nothing has been short of incredible!

Food was actually really good. The arancini apps were delicious. Our drinks took a long time so they comped them which was nice. The staff was very lovely and kind and kept checking on us, but our food still took forever.

I should’ve updated this before — we are regular visitors here and the service, food, and cocktails are consistently fabulous.

Wow! I can’t believe anyone would give this place less than 4stars. The burger. Fantastic. Peppers and grilled sardine appetizers. Fantastic. Service. Fantastic. Budino dessert. Fantastic. I cannot wait to return and try even more of the menu. That anyone would give it a 2star literally blows my mind. I am very critical of restaurants from everything from taste, presentation, price, and service. This is one of the few 5 stars that i have ever given. Delicious.

I call this place Sardine Burger, because the burger is the only thing on the menu worth eating. It’s awesome! Juicy with interesting cheese. My girlfriend always orders something else, and it’s always just OK. This restaurant has the air if a place that won’t be in business long, and it’s odd that the walls are always barren with no decorations, but I am giving them more stars due to the excellent burger. I suppose I have a special affection for this place due to the location, and the fact that it’s never crowded, even on weekend evenings.

We’ve been to WestCity Kitchen no less than 15 times over the past year. Needless to say they’re one of our West Seattle favs. Audra is the manager and by the 2nd visit greeted us like old friends. It’s been this way ever since. The service is amazing as is the food. The truffle frittes are madly addictive. The WestCity margarita is a must for any margarita lovers out there and the specials always please. We love this neighborhood joint and feeling of community they actively foster. Giddy on up over — you won’t regret it.

Went with high expectations due to the good reviews. «Seat yourself wherever you want…» We took a seat in the front window. Had difficulty getting service the entire visit. After about 10 minutes of sitting, I went to the bar to order a round of drinks. Someone other than our server delivered them about 5 minutes later. We ordered chickpeas(very salt and dusty), calamari(very strong pistachio powder, a salad and some sardines. The food was ‘meh’ at best with places like Pinxto and Tango having them beat by a long way. The service was abysmal, though. At every opportunity to check-in with us, our server simply gave us a quick glance and walked away. Food — blah. Service — terrible. Won’t be going back to a place that seems to have no interest in having you buy what they appear to be selling.

I love this place. My new favorite restaurant! I have gone here several times for dinner and never been disappointed. The halibut is one of my favorites. They used to serve it with this asparagus that had the most heavenly sauce I’ve ever tasted. I would bathe in it if I could. The side dishes are always amazing, salads, veggies, and gotta love the sardine butter! Great wine list and great prices for a top notch meal. A bottle of wine and to stuff two people w salads, apps, and entrees for under $ 70? Yes please. The desserts I’ve tried have been a delight but we are usually too full to go there. The staff is great and always remembers us. They’ve been really accommodating when wanting to tweak things on the menu or ask for special requests for dietary restrictions. We have also stopped in just for cocktails and they are SOFLIPPINGGOOD. Very different and unique flavors and they always offer a seasonal one as well. I’m obsessed with this place.

My new favorite restaurant in Seattle that just happens to be in my fave neighborhood! Great cocktails, and my friends and I make sure we order a bunch of appetizers(last time we got everything sardine-related), prefect-size entrees, and share a dessert. That sardine butter with bread is worth a visit in itself! Simple snack with some wine, yes please. Pasta was cooked well, rice/risotto cooked well, and the sardines are fantastic. Great little gem of place in West Seattle!

My wife and I ordered three dishes last night at Westcity. It’s a fairly new restaurant here in WS and unfortunately we were a bit underwhelmed. My wife had a pasta dish that was incredibly oily. Honestly I’ve never seen that much oil in a dish, and my wife even moved the pasta onto another plate in an attempt to make it less oily. The taste was pretty good however. We ordered the beet salad as an appetizer and it was very good. I ordered the halibut, which was prepared well. Part of the fish tasted fine, but i started to taste and smell ammonia about half way through it. My brain remembered tasting ammonia before while eating fish, so I just kind of plowed through it figuring it was okay to eat. I was super hungry too. I don’t normally complain, but I figured I should bring it to their attention. She said she didn’t know what would cause it to taste like ammonia, and that she’d never heard that before. Once I got out to my car I looked it up. Apparently it’s very common and it a natural result of a fish decomposing. Yikes. So, i basically got an old fish. Shit happens and it wasn’t a big deal. She did say that their fish was fresh, but apparently this one wasn’t or it had somehow wiggled through the cracks. Overall we enjoyed our meal here. The server was very gracious and comped the price of my fish, even though I’d asked her not to. I really didn’t want her to, seeing as how i’d eaten all of it. We’ll definitely try it again and then I’ll adjust my review accordingly.

I took my friend here for her birthday dinner. It was our first time for both of us. Our expectations were blown out of the water for both experience and food. It was a Tuesday and the place was hopping with people. Great to see for a newer restaurant. FOOD: Amazing Appetizer– the chorizo stuffed calamari. Wow, super good. Salad– Beet salad with Spinach. Loved that it was yellow beets too and very good light balsamic dressing Dinner– Truffle Oil Linguine with Prawns and Smoked Salmon Pasta– again, AMAZING EXPERIENCE: Amazing The best was our waitress who came over and told us to pick any dessert off the menu on the house because it was my friend’s birthday. Oh, and the kitchen accidently threw away my leftover pasta but not to fear, the waitress had them quickly cook up some more for me to take home. What a great 1st time experience. We will be back!
