Am surprised that there is a new Italian market/restaurant… if I may, in sleepy West Seattle. I decided to check it out, and see IF it was all«THAT», that I had heard. Well sir, when I walked in the door I felt like I was back in Italy. I had a time trying to decide on what to order for my 1st time visit. I decide on the San Rocco let me translate… porchetta, smoked provolone cheese, carmelized onions(could have had more for MY taste) and extra virgin olive oil and red wine vinai; the sandwich was grilled with a nice golden crust served w/a nice pesto vegetable pasta salad on the side and a rice ball to die for which was not included. Am going back next time for the Linguine with Lamb Meatball. VERYCLEAN and the owner pleasant. Now I can tell people that ask me «where is a good place to eat in West Seattle»?? To go here IF they are in the mood for AUTHENTIC Italian.

Stopped in to look. Purchased the Sea Salt and Rosemary loaf and a Nut Pie. Tallest pie I’ve ever seen. Both were amazing. We ate the loaf of bread before we made it home.

Fun atmosphere and lots of options. Unfortunately they’re not super tasty. The first time I visited I had a calzone, but the dough was a little raw in the middle. The second time, I had a lemoncello cake that tasted a little waxy and sugary, no complexity.

Food was excellent. The choices were slightly limited but what choices they had(we chose) were delicious. Friendly staff and the atmosphere was that of a genuine Italian deli. Would definitely return on another visit to the area.

Thumbs up! I purchased a loaf of olive bread and 2 cannolis(chocolate chip and pistachio). Bread was good with our baked ziti that we made and the cannolis were approved by my boyfriend who is originally from the Boston area and hasn’t been able to find any around Seattle. I’ll be back to get him more!

I’m excited about this place! It’s an alternative breakfast spot to Nouveau, and actually less greasy and equally as delicious(obviously different options)! The small, well-curated menu for both breakfast and lunch options is great– we wanted one of everything. It’s a nice atmosphere and they have great products if you want to just stop in and get sauce, meat, cheese, cookies, wine, etc. I bought some great tiny bottles of olive oil and vinegar as stocking stuffers from my impossible-to-shop for dad. Bonus! We have started coming here on weekends as our go-to spot because it obviously has not yet been ‘discovered’ for it’s greatness! Beautiful excellent authentic food with no wait, yeah!

When Aimee Pellegrini’s superb restaurant La Romanza closed it’s doors in West Seattle, diners who enjoyed its elegant continental flair were devastated. The Pellegrini family still had the space, and it was clear that *something* was going on behind the papered-over windows, but what? The family was maddeningly coy over what they had in mind, but finally West Seattle had the answer: La Romanza was now Pellegrini Italian Market! When I saw it, my first question was, ‘can West Seattle sustain two excellent delis? We already have Husky Deli’. The answer, happily, is a resounding ‘heck yeah!’. PIM is the answer to a need West Seattle didn’t realize it had: the need for a true, honest-to-God Italian Deli! THEROSES: Let’s start with the space; PIM just LOOKS like an authentic Italian deli you’d find in NYC or Jersey. From Gulio’s superb tilework to the bright colors, this is a delightful space. PIM has a surprisingly comprehensive selection of foodstuffs, wines and condiments, especially when you consider that this is not a huge space, vis-a-vis other markets like DiLaurenti’s or Borracchini’s. Thanks to careful selection, however, they have everything you need without making the space seem crowded or chaotic. The deli cases feature a wonderful selection of meats, cheeses, pastries, and prepared salads and side dishes, many of which are Pellegrini family recipes, so you know it’s going to be fresh and great! PIM is also a great place for lunch, featuring an excellent selection of sandwiches and other treats. A particular standout is their pizza. They do a Sicilian style that is just right: a light pillowy crust with just the right degree of buttery olive-oil crispiness on the bottom. Sicilian style is a type of pizza a lot of places offer, but few get right. PIM absolutely nails it! The dining area is comfortable, and in the summer, they have a counter that opens out onto the street, so you can relax and live ‘la dolce vita’ while you enjoy your lunch! Service is also letter-perfect. The Pellegrini family has decades of experience in the hospitality industry, and it shows. THETHORNS: None really, I just wish they were bigger. But it’s OK; they hit all the right notes, and they have everything you need when you want to do a great Italian dinner at home, and don’t have time to do everything from scratch. THEVERDICT: Pellegrini Italian Market chooses wisely not to go head-to-head with the other great deli in West Seattle, but instead to concentrate on its strengths, and provide the discriminating WS foodie with a first rate shopping and dining experience. Five stars(I’d give PIM six if I could). Get down here!

My first visit, and they had me with the soup! I’m going to be a regular. So glad we’ve got an authentic taste of European flavor and ambience. I want a permanent seat placard. Muah, Pellegrini!

Fantastico! Four of us picked up dinner to go for a reunion with returning European travelers. Everything was so good! Lamb meatball sub, pork sandwich, meat pizza sandwich(seriously good — zi guilio is a name to remember!), chicken ceasar, pesto pasta, and chocolates for dessert. We picked up gorgeous Italian wines from West Seattle Cellars down the street(disclosing that my late husband and now great friends make WS Cellars hum). Yeah for our neighborhood that we have these great places! So impressed with the food and the genuinely kind people who make all the food fresh each day that we decided to check it out for coffee and pastry. Delicious latte made from the QUIETEST espresso machine on earth, walnut and fig pastry(warmed!), and a seat at the marble counter facing the sidewalk — with windows that open! Did I mention that it’s a cool rainy gray day in Seattle? Yet I feel like I am back in Italy, hearing the family confer on menu plans for the day and the best suppliers for the wonderful array of foods they are planning to make for us! I asked about them closing at 5 — they are keenly aware of the neighborhood’s desire for them to be open later, but they won’t compromise quality service. When they have more good people to help staff up to their standards, they’ll be open for dinner. Until then, get yourself to the Junction before 5. You’ll be so glad you did!

Got the frozen manicotti with spinach and meat lasagna to bring home. Both were delicious. Had to heat them in the microwave instead of oven because we’re in the middle of a kitchen remodel, but they still came out great. Good sauce, real ricotta and mozz, and fresh spinach. Nice portions for the price and couldn’t be easier for a weeknight meal. Better than most restaurant Italian I’ve had in Seattle. Cannoli with crushed pistachios was the real deal. Hands down the best cannoli I’ve had on the west coast. Being from NY, and also Italian, I feel qualified to comment. Folks working there are super nice too. Twice I’ve stopped in near closing time and they’ve treated me to a freebie bakery item headed for the day old basket. Great addition to the Junction, especially now that the chain restaurants are moving in! Definitely check this place out if you appreciate good Italian.

Super nice people, good coffee, lovely pastries. The deli food looks good too, def try sometime. Free wifi and great people-watching-friendly seating. Glad to have another indie non-Starbux-samo-samo business to support.

A place to rest your weary feet and take a time out from all the fantastic shops in West Seattle. Yep, they have ½ carafes of crisp, Pinot Grigio, delicious Arancini balls to hold your evening hunger at bay and lovely open window seats overlooking the sidewalk for fabulous people watching. Run, don’t walk… this little Italian deli is a lovely addition to a perfect day of shopping with your friends.

I stopped in there the other day and was delighted that it had moved into the neighborhood. Beautiful shop with a friendly staff. I bought a bunch of stuff and all was delicious looking as well as delicious. I am perplexed by some of the other reviews. Folks, if your wine tastes like vinegar send it back, don’t be passive aggressive and post negative reviews. And BTW, it’s a gourmet food market, not a pizza palace. If all you want is normal pizza, go to one of those.

Stopped in for lunch… with the prime location you can’t help but want to step in for a look and do some people watching from the open seating at the front. As far as the food… pretty good. I got the maria pizza sandwich, which I think was the only vegetarian offering on the menu other than cheese pizza. Didn’t really get the concept, so I unfolded it, redistributed things a bit and enjoyed it as a proper pizza. Much better that way, as one other review pointed out the crust is a bit thick. Double it up sandwich-style and I can imagine it’s a bit too bready. The pastries looked good and were reasonably priced, the fresh breads looked amazing! So I do look forward to going back once they’re over the growing pains to try both of those out!

The West Seattle Junction just went up another notch with the opening of Pellegrini’s. Aimee and her dad(owner of 5 star restaurant La Ruatica on Beach Drive) have created the most amazing Italian Market. You can sit at the counter and enjoy your meal al fresco. Delicious homemade pastries and wine, too!

My sis and I popped in on opening day during WestFest. We checked the place out and each ordered a glass of the red house wine. It was pretty bad, had a strong vinegar taste, either it had turned or it’s just really bad. Since it was opening day, I doubt it had time to turn. We were actually grateful for the ‘short’ pour. I believe it was $ 7 a glass. The place is really cute and a good addition to the Junction so we’ll be in again only this time will stick to the bottled beer in the cooler!

First, let me say that I like this place and I REALLY want to love this place and hope to update this review next time I go in. It just opened so I want o to give them a little time. Briefly: Very cute remodel of their old business. Definitely has an Italian Deli feel. Kind of quirky if you want to order multiple /different items. TIP: grab your drinks /pastries /to go stuff first before you get in line to order /pay. You’ll see what I mean. I ordered the lamb meatball pizza sandwich. Came with a side of pasta salad. Side was fine. Sandwich bread /pizza crust was tasty but way too thick. Think gyro sandwich if it has 3 pieces of pita stacked. Also was very heavy on cheese. Like crazy heavy. My two lunch mates commented same. Next time I’m ordering light cheese. And I LOVE cheese. The meatballs were tasty but hard to find and few and far between. Being a pizza sandwich I assumed the meat portion would be somewhat heart y given its $ 12.99 price. I would say I has two half cut balls and maybe a little leftover piece. Lots of grilled onions to keep the lonely lamb balls company. We all came away feeling like we were filled up with a lot of dough & cheese. I went home and took a nap. I couldn’t help it. My gastro mate, who is a foodie, could not fine any mortadella in her mortadella sandwich. But I’ll leave that review for her. I will be back. The place is cute. The lady that owns it(I think it was her) that rang me up was both delightful and had a radiant smile that brightened up the room. Like I said, they just opened. I’ll be back and hopeful that they are around for a long time.

I really liked my first experience at Pellegrini Italian Market. They’ve only been open a couple of weeks, so they had the typical opening jitters… This however, did not get in the way of their super friendly attitude and quick service. I ordered their Lamb Meatball ‘pizza’ sandwich — it’s their unique version of a panini. Really, everything about it was delicious… Crust was crisp and flavorful, sauce was rich and hearty and the meatballs and roasted peppers took center stage with just enough cheese to top it all off. The sandwich also comes with a side of pesto pasta salad, which I also loved. A little side note. The previous occupant of this space was La Romanza, which during the day was my favorite restaurant in West Seattle. I was very sad when it closed… but it’s my understanding this new market is run by the same family, which might explain why I loved it so much.

Only been here once but I had the Cellini– roast porchetta sub. It’s amazing! Filled with succulent marinated pork in a fresh Italian roll. A bit pricey but after the first bite I realized it was worth every penny. Plenty of other delicious looking and sounding items left to try on the menu so I will definitely be back for more!

Pellegrini Italian Market just opened yesterday(July 10, 2015). We stopped in during West Seattle Summer Fest. Since it opened recently, they weren’t completely stocked. For instance, we asked about buying a baguette on display in their bakery section. The guy behind the counter informed us it was just a display item, but they hoped to have fresh baked baguettes in a couple days after Summer Fest ended and business would be more normal. However, their bakery items, like their ricotta cheesecake, did look quite good – I’ll have to pop sometime in the future and give their baked goods a try. We also checked out some of their ready-made food, like pizza, fresh made pastas in the cold case, and deli meats. The pizza was expensive and a bit thick looking for my taste, so we opted not to give it a try. Their fresh pastas(like linguine) were also incredibly expensive at $ 8/lb. Given that it opened so recently, it’s hard to really judge Pellegrini at this point. I’m definitely willing to stop in again down the road after they have the chance to adjust as a new business. That said, with them competing with Huski Deli for deli/cold items, with Bakery Nouveau for baked goods, and with Talarico’s and Pizza Credo for pre-made hot items – all more affordable, well established, and within a block of Pellegrini – it’s hard to imagine I’ll be coming here too often.
