You have to try the chocolate rum ball! Oh my goodness. Thanks to my fellow juror Sean for introducing me.

Great vegetarian options here. Had potatoes and cheese, mushroom and cheese, and mushroom and cabbage. All were excellent and very reasonable prices. Feels like a family run place.

Ordered cherry piroshki for new year. They messed up my order. When I came to pick up my order, I told them they made a mistake. They insisted I didn’t specify what type of dough I wanted them to use. I KNOW I specified it because I know they offer two kinds. Instead of apology, they told me what they made is just as good as what I ordered(as in, we don’t care what you ordered, we made what we made). Instead of offering me a discount, they offered to cancel my order. Horrible customer service.

I love this place. I am sad I didn’t find it when my parents where here from Slovakia. They would have loved it. But who doesn’t love a warm Piroshki on a cold winter day.

I stopped in for lunch and got a beef and mushroom piroshki. I was not impressed by the ingredients — the beef was paste like and did not have much flavor aside from some minced onion and the mushrooms. It was dry so I had to keep drinking water with it. The bread was well done and in fact I think I’d come back to Piroshki on 3rd to try a sweet or pastry with their bread. I don’t think savory is their strong suit.

I love the food here, and the restaurant staff is very hospitable and kind. I always make at least one or two stops here while I visit Seattle. I suggest the borsch during cold winters, it’s great.

This is an excellent stop for breakfast! Imagine the lunch would be amazing if you have the Piroshki! We had a ham, bacon, and cheese. Melted in out mouth. We loved the lady taking our order. She made us feel right at home with a great Ukrainian welcome! Omelette plate was very large and easy to share.

OMG! These are so good! We were looking for a lil sumthin’ sumthin’ to munch on on our way to a tour, and I saw this was on the way to our next stop, so we headed in. I was curious since my visit to Piroshky Piroshky was so unmemorable I had to see what all the piroshki hype was about. Well Piroshki on 3rd was amazing! There is a wide selectio and we ended up getting the potato-mushroom, ham & cheese, and spinach, egg and cheese piroshki. Fresh out of the oven and freshly baked, the breading was light, slightly sweet, and had just the right amount of fat in it to be tender, but not greasy. Chinese baked bao makers could learn a thing or two! I think I liked the spinach one best — it had a savory quality to it that was really really good. We came back later to grab a few back to our hometowns and I also got the chocolate roll, which was tossed in the microwave to warm up a bit. Holy mackerel! It was a ton of chocolate chips in it — I’m pretty sure it’s more chocolate than it is bread. Delicious and rich. The only knock off for the star is that I find these pastries on the expensive side. It’s over $ 5 a piece — I was kinda taken aback when our bill for three was roughly $ 17. Think about it — you can get a full deli sandwich for not much more and if you’re familiar with 85C Bakery in SoCal, you can get delectable Chinese buns for not much more than a buck. Bottom line: get piroshkis here, not at Pike’s Place.

Great find! Excellent beef and mushroom piroshki. Amazing baklava! Very clean seating area and a pretty and attentive young woman taking care of her customers. We’ll be back!

Nice people. Great piroshki. Loved it. I had the chicken, cabbage and rice which was a little over five bucks. It made a perfect snack between meals. There was no wait!

We shared a rhubarb pastry. Tasted like a hand held pie. Reminded of dessert at home when I was a kid and mom would make rhubarb pie. YUM!

This was the best breakfast place ever! The lady who owns this little café is very sweet and makes a really great customer service impression. I loved the beautiful display of pastries that greeted me as I walked in the door. Weather you’re in the mood for sweet or savory– stop here to have a yummy experience

If my Russian best friend says this is the best piroshkies she’s had outside of Russia, then I have to believe her. I also really enjoy their stuff, especially the beef and cheese and pizza one. Their dough is slightly sweeter but if you get the fresh ones in the morning they are so soft and fluffy when heated. I don’t feel like I have to wait in line like the Pikes Place one to get a great piroshki and the ladies here are always really nice. Easy good breakfast on the run if you need to.

Piroshki on 3rd is so underrated. My husband is Russian and we stumbled on this place by accident looking for somewhere else. We picked a couple of different Piroshki to share. After the first bite his eyes lit up and I realized that we had struck gold. He insisted on coming back a couple of weeks later and we got the borsht which was warm and filling and delicious. It reminded him of his mom’s which is a huge compliment. We stop by whenever we are in the area!

So good! Pleasant Russian mother-like figures making pastries; how could you go wrong? We didn’t really know what to expect going into this little bakery, but whatever subconscious expectations we had were surpassed. Very savory and filling — I got the spinach/egg/cheese and my husband got potato/mushroom. Ample ingredients inside a Hawaiian bread-like bun — not just a bunch of white bread surrounding a smidge of filling. The only downside is that even though you could tell they were made recently, they had to be microwaved to be warmed up and it detracted a bit from the freshness of the bread. All in all, we’d definitely return.

I wish they had more dessert selection. Although most of they already have are delicious, wasn’t really big fan of the other piroshkies. I had their salmon cream cheese piroshki and I swear it wasn’t the same as the one at Pike Place market. I liked the one at the market better. I didn’t like the bread here for some reason. I also had the Bavarian sausage too and that was kinda sham too. I really only go here when I have the cravings… Like today. Was craving for the chocolate roll.

Hot tip: Ask Mrs. Lyublin what’s good, and order two! The morning I stopped in, the salmon and cream cheese piroshki had just come out of the oven. I should have, ordinarily would have snapped a quick pic; this piroshki was in the form of a beautifully braided fish. But the stomach overruled all such impulses, and was very very happy.

Hot pastry with coffee on a chilly day. Talk about a trifecta! Unfortunately, Piroshki on 3rd let me down on the pastry part. I ordered the beef with mushroom and cheese, and was really excited to try it out due to the fantastic reviews on Unilocal. However, the lady microwaved the food way too hot and the filling itself was disappointing. While I’m usually all about meats galore, I was kinda expecting some cheese and mushrooms too. Because, you know… it’s a beef with mushroom and cheese pirozhki after all. Unfortunately, the cheese was pretty much non-existent and the mushroom was all on one end of the pastry. Furthermore, it was those canned, rubbery mushrooms. Just the thought of strolling down the street on a crisp morning with a coffee in one hand and a pirozshki in the other makes me want to try this place again. However, I think next time I’ll just go to Piroshky Piroshky instead.

Came here during my last visit to Seattle… I was staying in the Pikes Place neighborhood and wanted a quick bite to eat away from crowds and near a light tail stop to bring me to the airport afterwards. Piroshki on 3rd filled those criteria as 1) food is served hot and fast, 2) this place can be busy but isn’t as busy as piroshki piroshki at Pikes Place, and 3) it’s right next go Pioneer Square station, thus making this restaurant joint a quick 30 minute light rail trip. Had the broccoli and beef piroshki along with a cup of borscht… All together it came to be around 10 $, which was reasonable since the flavors were good and I was pretty stuffed! Piroshki was pretty standard, so nothing to write home about… But I really loved their borscht. Reminded me of the way one of my Russian friends makes borscht, so it really hit the spot. Definitely try the borscht here if anything!

Red and her piroshki talk on OITNB made me curious as to what this doughy potato sandwich was. And so I found myself here. While I’m still contemplating whether ordering the borscht and freshly baked potato-cheese piroshki(both warm foods) was the right thing to do in the middle of summer, my stomach seems to hold no regrets. The piroshki is soft, full of juicy potatoes and cheese. The borscht is abeet-pink soup, full of an assortment of vegetables. The taste seems authentically homemade, like I would find in Red’s home. I’m pleased.
