It’s not closed! It’s re-opened and it has a full bar now too. The gourmet sandwiches are out of this world. New owners and completely remodeled. You have to go check this place out. Here’s a video of the place:

I went by it today, and it’s boarded up. It got bought by a couple of other people, and its being remodeled. Found this out by the music down the block. So that’s why it’s been boarded up, in case people were wondering.

This place is how all coffee shops should be, hot barista and a great atmosphere. No snootie attitudes, just great coffee! titties!

Coffee is delicious & there is a nice selection of baked goods. There are some fun vintage sodas & snacks for sale as well. I think I even saw a small case of jewelry there during the holidays. It is definitely small & cozy, the barista always friendly.

Thank goodness for Lighthouse instead of Vita, Vita, Vita. And Macrena pastries – probably the best in the city. This is my local spot, with friendly baristas who have come to know me and feel like neighbors. One warning: have cash, no credit cards.

Cozy & homey little space that serves up some good coffee and pastries in Georgetown. I’ve been searching for places with a little soul since I got a job down in the industrial wasteland south of Boeing Field, so I was glad to find this space. Not sure how to describe the décor. French Country? Eclectic bric-a-brack? Mish-mash hodge-podge? Whatever it is, the owner clearly put his stamp on the place, and it’s not your cookie-cutter big chain coffee place. Nice to sit outside this place too on a summer day(if we ever have any of those again) and enjoy your iced mochas.

First timer to the joint this afternoon. Stopped by with coworker after previously seeing one of their sidewalk signs advertising Full Tilt ice-cream. Barista/cashier/jacqueline-of-all-trades lady was personable and knowledgeable about the ice-cream offerings. She recommended the rose, said the pear was eh. Coworker got the rose, I picked up a pint of prickly pear ice-cream(smelled sweet, was bubblegum-ish in flavor). Definitely will come back to try their other café offerings. Kitschy décor w/easily found parking on the street.

We stopped in here for a break during Honk! fest after standing around on concrete for a few hours got old. I was looking for a comfy place to sit down as much as a hot cup o’ coffee, but Ground Control had me covered. It’s not huge, just a couple of little café tables and a wicker sofa and chairs, but definitely cozy and welcoming inside. Big bowls of fruit, candy, and biscotti sit temptingly on every flat surface, and there are tons of posters and flyers to look at while you enjoy your beverage or treat. I just had a regular drip coffee, but it was served fast, hot, and fresh, and they have lots and lots of sweeteners to choose from(including my favorite, rainbow-colored party sugar). The server was friendly and chatty, and it was a great view as marching bands passed outside the window! A nice spot to stop and take a breather if you’re in the neighborhood for Art Walk or some other event.

Swung by this new place in Georgetown, waiting to meet someone at Hangar Café. Cool French industrial décor with Lighthouse coffee served well. They also carry Macrena pastries and other goodies from«grandma’ recipes». Free wi-fi makes it cozy for small meetings. Definately another hit in Georgetown.
