Was my favorite bar until they turned it into Brass Tacks.

We stopped in for lunch today and ordered the TBLT and the grilled cheese. Both were very delicious and quick. The sandwich guy was clearly a pro multitasker, very fast and efficient. The sandwiches came with a carrot salad(his grandma’s recipe, he said) that was sweet and tart and perfect. I totally recommend this place.

Went here for lunch today with a couple of other guys from work. We can’t say enough good about this place. Food had was the TBLT, Roast Beef, cucumber salad and candied bacon. The sandwiches were awesome and made with super high quality ingredients. Cucumber salad WOW amazing hard to explain just plain vinegary and spicy. Last and certainly not least the candied bacon. Several strips of bacon(enough to share between 3 men) that is coated with an apple pie tasting coating. As my friend on the way out the door said«I just walked out of my new favorite place».

Just discovered this place near work, and stopped in a few times for lunch. I love everything — quality sandwiches, made right in front of you and ever so tasty. The staff is friendly, and it is a perfect fit in Georgetown.

I recently re-visited this place for lunch since they expanded their space and must admit I was disappointed. Their vegetarian selections are poor(there’s no vegetarian sandwich options). The space itself is quite lovely and light filled inside and probably a great place to go for drinks. I had a grilled cauliflower/apple dish which was pretty bland and uninspiring. Sad because I wanted to love it. By the way, the menu on their website is the old menu and not the same as the one they have now(I wish they still had the grilled eggplant sandwich).

Fantastic non-traditional steak sandwich: original, fresh baked crusty roll, perfectly cooked(and not diced beyond recognition) steak, and accompaniments. Great house made cucumber salad. Very nice waitress, great décor(old timey vibe), perfect spot at a window table on a sunny day. Will be back. (Note to management: came back on 3÷3÷13, at 11:30 am; place smelled so strongly of Lysol [maybe to kill Saturday nite’s excesses?] that we passed on eating lunch there.)

We recently visited Georgetown for the first time with every intention of trying the sandwiches at Ground Control. You can’t go wrong with the Cuban Sandwich(loved the potato straws inside) and carrot ginger salad choice for the side. The bread comes from a Vietnamese shop and the chef picks it up daily; it had a great crusty, chewy, fluffy texture, it was perfect! We will return… need to try the Italian next!

Whenever I’m out in Georgetown, Ground Control is a must-visit. The owner is a great guy, super nice, fun guy to talk to and the food is delicious. The bread is toaste to Paseo perfection(another excellent sandwich place, located in Fremont) the ingredients are fresh and flavorful(I’m drooling just thinking about my favorite sandwich, the Italian) and big enough to fill you up for the afternoon. They’ve got good beer options, fun drinks. If you’re in Georgetown, you must go here and grab a gourmet sandwich. Afterwards, you can get a growler from Georgetown brewery ;)

This former coffee spot is now a kick-ass bar and restaurant located in the heart of Georgetown. I went in for dinner tonight and was impressed. The food was great, the drinks were amazing, and the service was fantastic. If you’re looking for a new place to venture to, this would be the one. ps. they deliver!!!

Tiny place, awesome staff, tasty sandwiches. I like fernet and so do they. We’re like lovers from afar. I should go here so much more often than I do.

I am cautiously optimistic about this tiny place! They only opened recently(I guess there used to be a coffee shop in this space also called Ground Control) but right now they’ve got a bar that serves some excellent cocktails. Happy hour is from 4:00 — 6:00 pm and you can get a Rainier Tall Boy for $ 1. As for food, the menu features a bunch of pretty classic sandwiches(including a Cuban, a turkey BLT, and a grilled cheese) and salads. I had the turkey BLT and it was HUGE. Think deli style, with meat piled high and served on a thick and chewy baguette. Was it the best or most creative sandwich I’ve ever had? No. But for a quick and filling lunch, it totally fit the bill. Apparently they’re planning on expanding the menu and serving brunch. Yet another reason to head over to Georgetown!

I can’t help but think of David Bowie — I just can’t help myself. That and the fact the place does look a bit like a space oddity — a quirky bar tucked in a corner. Bartender was super friendly — allowed the pup to hang out inside for a bit then gave me a bowl for water — gotta love Georgetown! I love how they are serious about the craft of cocktail and want to come back to try the food!

DELICIOUS. I LOVE Georgetown. And Ground Control is yet another sublime testamentas to why I do. Ground Control is a tiny spot tucked away on the corner and for some reason I had never noticed it before! So glad I found the Living Social cupie! The food: OMG. Seriously. So good. My other half and I wandered in here just as it looked like the chef was packing up the kitchen for the day. Our Living Social dealio was for two sandwiches, two salads and two beers or well drinks. After a bit of chiding from the chef for wandering in when the kitchen was closing… to demonstrate his truly laid back and cool Georgetownian style he was kind enough to re-open the kitchen and prepare our sandwiches for us. We placed our orders… ordered up a couple of Vodka/Tonics and ventured outside to one of the bistro tables to enjoy our drinks and wait for our food. And holy crap are we so lucky he re-opened the kitchen. THESANDWICHESWEREAMAZING. I had the cuban and my sweetie had the Philly Cheesesteak. The Cuban was PERFECT and my sweetie scarfed down his Philly as the meat was so deliciously tender he couldn’t help but devour it. And the cucumber salads… SERIOUSLY. The cucumber salads… I can’t even begin to describe how delicious they were. I scarfed mine then tried to steal my boyfriends… especially since at this point we couldn’t order more as the chef had officially packed up the kitchen after making our food. The chef came out and chatted with us a bit as we dined outside and shared with us his background. Apparently he was a super fancy caterer for some super fancy rich peeps for several years before coming to Ground Control. And seriously, you can tell from his food. SOGOOD. The bartender was an absolute doll as she was so casually cool and attentive to us as we dined outside to enjoy the warm Seattle evening. We will definitely be back!

This is a cool, small hangout in g-town. Right on the corner off Airport Way, there’s some seating outside and the snug bar area inside. I always like hobby-related stuff so the models of planes and the rocket up top were super neat. It’s nice. Chill. Good drinks and their Cuban is tasty, although different from other places like Paseo’s. The staff is cool, as well, and Christina(sp?) makes the sandwiches right there.

Exceptional sandwiches(especially The Italian and The Cuban) with super-fresh ingredients. I’ll never go back to Quiznos or Subway with this place right in my backyard. Remarkably friendly folks both behind and around the bar.

This is such a lovely lil bar. I am surprised that more people do not know about it. Enough b.s. now lets get to the good, bad, and ugly of reviewing this bitch. :D Good: Décor is based around 1950-ish airplanes. It is hip but not hipster looking. Nice bar seating arrangement to have an intimate conversation at. Decent happy hour from 4−6pm. I think it is dollar off fancy cocktails, $ 3 wells and… Bad: Said drinks were very tasty. Ugly: Seating is mostly limited to the bar. There were two small tables by the door. This might not be the spot that you want to bring a party of 8+ to have a sit down meal at. I’ve heard that in summer they offer outdoor seating, which would be an awesome
