Love this place! They nailed that hip, industrial but candlelit aesthetic that I love so much. Food’s bomb, I especially liked the brussel sprouts. Last night my friend and I were waited on my a super sweet blond names Ali, who took excellent care of us. Great for sitting at the bar and grabbing a bite alone, even better for a date.

We love coming here. Their apps are so good and the atmosphere is perfect. Great service too. We had our rehearsal dinner here because we loved it so much. The one thing I will say is that the soup was very different from the one we had at the tasting, like it tasted extremely different and in a less positive way and the chicle was less seared. That said we have been there like 7 times and it is just a place we love going and can always expect to leave happy and full. Our rehearsal dinner was beautiful, the staff and dishes were timed perfectly and the backroom they let us use was so freaking wonderful and perfect. The manager and the staff did nothing but bend over backwards to give us the most lovely rehearsal dinner :) thank you thank you

I used to love this place – especially for dinner. However, we’ve noticed a decline in quality of food and service over the past few months. On Sunday, 1/24, my husband and I came with friends. The female host was brusque and rude – I could tell they were busy, but there’s no need to behave that way. When we were finally seated, we sat for ages before the hungover and/or sick waiter came by. We did a lot of waiting. A lot.* I ordered chilaquiles, which were unrecognizable as such. The plate consisted of soggy tortilla chips and a grey scramble of sausage and I’m not sure what else. There was no salsa. I left it nearly untouched and shared my husband’s under-seasoned burger. When they waiter came back – sweating, shaking, almost certainly the reason I’m sick now – he didn’t even comment on the untouched plate. I was glad to be spared the awkward dance there, but that does show a distinct lack of concern. All in all, it’s good to have an iron-clad reason to stay away from now on. It was the easiest alternative to the always-packed Fonda. Oh and: what is up with the brunch DJ? * other things we waited for that never came: coffee refills, another beer, hot sauce, mustard(«we’re out»)

I am really disappointed about everything except with the décor and atmosphere at this place especially when the rating was so high. Do check out the latest reviews as I think things have been sliding downhill. We came in for a Sunday brunch and there was a live DJ spinning some chill music and Seahawk’s game is on this large projector. I like the fact that there was a lot of cool looking plants as décor. Service was pretty terrible and unprofessional. The servicing side of the bar was facing the projector. Does that make sense? Because none of the customers sitting at the bar would see the game but all the people serving at the bar does. Maybe that’s why they were so distracted the entire time of my visit. There was no signage when we first came in and I made eye contact with several people and they all just looked at me like I’m interrupting. So I asked one of the people working the bar if it’s self seating. At that point one of them told me that the host would be with me in a minute. After a some time, the host, as it turns out was also someone from the bar, just sat us closest to the door without asking if we had a preference when the place was pretty empty. Then the host who is now our waiter would disappear for massive amount of time during our visit which made the entire brunch very slow(taking orders, bringing our meals, getting any refill, or finally get the check). Luckily we were facing the open kitchen and the cook was much more helpful. However, the food was very disappointing. The biscuit which I would highly recommend that you stay away from ordering is rock hard and dry. I’m sure I can knock someone out if I threw it at them. The selection was slim on the menu but the food was not impressive. I counted that there were 7 people«working» both the bar and kitchen but only 2 people were actually really working. All the other folks were goofing around, watching the game, and drinking the drinks left over from customer. Yes, the good part about sitting facing the open kitchen is that we can see the serving side bar pretty clear. That is very unprofessional and also very disgusting. I actually felt really sorry for the 2 hardworking people carrying the weight of the other 5 people. The owner of this place should take notice or hire mystery diners or something to test out the brunch service.

I was warmly greeted on the day after Christmas. It didn’t know if places would be packed or if this well-known pub in Georgetown might be a good way to escape the«regifter¨crowds. For a Bellinghamster, it’s nice to go to Seattle to find the local favorites. Unilocal is one way that I learn about these spots. I decided to stop in while returning from Portland to the ´Ham. My first question was about a spicy Bloody Mary — a must when perched between the brunch and lunch hours. The jalapeño-infused vodka added a fair quick to the drink, but it could have used more Worcester sauce and celery salt for my taste. The Croque Madame was beautifully plated and had a perfect sunny side up egg on top. The fries underneath were sinful, but helped sop up the egg. My goodness how I adore runny eggs. The continued service was spot-on. I was able to eat and ogle the well-stocked bar in a short amount of time. I do wish there was wifi, but that’s the downside of not having a smart phone. Enjoy!

The drinks were amazing! I have to only give three stars because the pre Art Attack walk snack we got was misleading and disappointing. It read on the menu — «Pork fries with Apple Butter». So we all know able butter and for those who like it, picturing it slathered all over deep fried pork sticks sounded perfect. The dish, which read so simple and straightforward on the menu ended up being pork fries of good non greasy quality and a side small little cup of some kind of lightly flavored apple sauce or watered down apple butter. Nothing at all really like apple butter and next to the very one note and bland pork fries — we were not at all impressed. Saying«apple butter» on your menu is very specific. Its like saying«Nutella» or «peanut butter» or any other universal /common side bit. Not only did we feel misled, but what a boring dish with the poor apple butter substitute regardless. May try this again if in the area and bored, but wouldn’t bring guests. If your restaurant served me the wrong side sauce — OK I guess — but this is my experience. Also when we were there sitting at the«chefs bar» one of the cooks tickets fell off and blew away. He would not have seen or prepared the customer order so we picked it up and handed it to him. He gave us a grim look at best and stuck it back on the line. Charming place. The manager was there on point and busy it seemed. Send someone out for Apple Butter ya? Maybe the angry chef who shouldn’t be in front of customers. Oh I cant recommend this place. Try the much more excellent seafood places north of it.

Had a great experience here for Sunday brunch! My mom chose this place to celebrate her birthday and it was delightful! The décor was very earthy with re-purposed wooden tables, interesting décor, an abundance of plants and a genuine quirky atmosphere. We were greeted immediately as we walked in and shown to a table. Water was waiting for us and it didn’t take long for our fabulous server Ali to give us a run down of the menu & bring our tasty mimosas(ruby red grapefruit for my Mom & orange for me). Ali was awesome in giving us recommendations as this was our first time here. I had the corn beef hash & my mom had the crouque madame which was a fancy ham grilled cheese. Both were super tasty and hit the spot for the drive home. A must visit on the trip up & back from Seattle!!!

Oh my, one of the best places to go for HH in Georgetown. Unfortunately, my last visit here(on Wednesday), resulted in a burger that was less than optimal(it was rare… ewww and reason for 4 starts). To be fair, I have been here several times and know that they cook burgers to order… but still. The server did comp my burger even though I was fine with paying for it. Great things about this place: great HH prices and quality, moscow mules in a copper cup, delicious burger(normally), secret room, homemade ketchup(tangy and nom-worthy), and candied bacon(every. dang. time.). I would be careful though about going with only 2 people – I have not had good luck getting a nice table with only 2 people. Over two people should be fine. Also, it can get a bit crowded at rush times(dinner). If I am in Georgetown, I will almost always hit this place up for a great HH burger and fries!

Formerly a local favorite, Brass Tacks seems to be phoning it in at this point. The once meticulously prepared and flavor-forward food is now unbalanced and unctuous just for the sake of unctuousness, fat atop fat, without purpose. Platings are half-hearted. Service suffers similarly. The host tried to seat us by the door on a cold night without even looking for a table further in. When asked about serving a hot version of a scotch, ginger, and lemon drink, a simple matter of adding hot water instead of ice, the first word out of the servers mouth was, «No.» As any good server will tell you, that’s the last word you say when a customer makes a reasonable request. But he’s young, I remind myself. Young people can’t be expected to do things well. Everyone gets a trophy, right? I hope my wife doesn’t insist on coming here again soon. Goopy, fatty, bland food and can’t-be-bothered service have put this old favorite on my «six month rule» list. Sad.

Candied bacon. Need I say more? This is a great spot that I’ve hosted birthday parties at or just wanted a nice dinner. Waitstaff is always great and like I said, candied bacon. So delicious. I got the bangers and mash the last time I was here but I’ve never gotten bad food here. Drinks are stiff and this place has a great vibe. They have live music on the weekends and never disappoint.

This is an awesome restaurant in Georgetown. A bunch of my friends and I came here for brunch, which was really cool because only during brunch is there a live DJ, spinning beats! And it wasn’t so loud that you couldn’t hear your company, which was nice. The space is really eclectic yet modern. Street parking around the place is usually easy to find. We ordered pitchers of mimosas and most of my friends had the typical breakfast plate with a choice of meat, two eggs, potatoes and a biscuit. I had the burger, which was really good, especially since it was cooked to medium-rare. It’s also a good size, so had to take half home, along with the frites. The service is good and efficient. There were a lot of families here for brunch, and the place seemed to fill up quickly, so I’d recommend going when it opens. I’d like to come back for dinner service.

Super funky, fun, quirky place at the end of the Georgetown strip. I dig it so much I take out of town guests and colleagues here often because it has just the right amount of quirk yet really good food and drinks. I love the pork fries and the Poutine. YESPLEASE. Really I would be up for trying anything on this menu… They also have some fun party spaces in the back so that is worth a look see if you are planning a party. Good times always, well except on Mondays they aren’t open…

This place is nestled in the Georgetown area and for my first experience I would rate it a, «Meh, I’ve had better.» For what it is, it’s on the pricey side, but the service is not half bad. The food can be better if the proper utensils were given. How do you eat a cassoulet with a fork? It has broth so a spoon would be nice. The Mac and cheese with brisket is ok, but nothing to write home about. They do have a nice whiskey selection per my husband. Down the street, The Jules Mae Saloon has a more appetizing food selection.

I’ve had this place bookmarked for quite some time, and I finally got a chance to get in there for dinner last night. It was a Friday night and it was packed, but my companion and I were seated right away. There was a live jazz trio on stage. I’m not a jazz fan at all, but they weren’t too loud and they provided some background music. We had the antipasti platter, which consisted of black and green olives(pits included), pickled vegetables, a trio of soft cheeses, a few slices of rustic bread, a few slices of salami, and a few slices of prosciutto. It was pretty good and not too filling. It was served on a carving board, which was a nice touch. My companion had the cheeseburger and she added bacon. I took a bite of it and it was good, but we both agreed that the bacon was overcooked. I opted for the pork cassoulet. It was a perfect and hearty dish for the cold and rainy night. It was good, but underseasoned. I had to add some salt and pepper and then it was perfect. I’m glad I finally got to pop into Brass Tacks. The atmosphere is really cool and the interior has some nice decorations. I will definitely come back to this place on one of my future visits to Georgetown, the oldest neighborhood in Seattle.

Things I liked: — The décor was very laid back and made me feel like I was in a treehouse — Breakfast potatoes and bacon Things I didn’t like: — The restroom looked SUPER creepy — They do not serve sausages — PBJ brioche portion was overwhelming and didn’t come with anything on the side. They also have a foosball table which unfortunately, was occupied by a bunch of children screaming by my ear making it impossible to enjoy a nice brunch with my friends. But that isn’t the restaurant’s fault, I suppose.

I never think of coming to Georgetown because it’s a little too«hipster-y» for my liking. The area is generally kind of sketchy and not somewhere I’d want to be at night. However, my husband came to pick me up from work and was HANGRY so we needed to find a place to eat… and FAST. We stumbled across this place, via Unilocal, obviously, and hopped inside. The husband ordered poutine, candied bacon and a burger whereas I took advantage of the happy hour menu and got a board full of salumi, cheese and pickled vegetables and candied bacon on the side.(Totally wholesome, right? Candied bacon is TECHNICALLY protein…) Anyway, I wasn’t super impressed with the poutine… it didn’t have much gravy, the fries were greasy and the cheese wasn’t completely melted on top. However, the fries were homemade(I think) and had potential. Mike had fries with his burger which was overkill… he totally didn’t eat all of them. The board of meats, cheeses and veggies was really good. I’d get it again for sure. However, the best, best, best, best, best thing about this whole meal was the candied bacon. I would come here and seek this place out and order, like, 5 orders of just bacon. It’s amazing. My husband and I both had it… and I’m glad we didn’t share — I’ll put it that way. Happy hour here is pretty rad. So come for that.

Great food and phenomenal service! We stopped in for brunch on a Sunday and had a great experience. The restaurant staff really helped us out and were incredibly accommodating to the requests we had. That in itself put them over the top. Our server, Brock, who helped us was all aces. He was very friendly and helpful, and we couldn’t have been happier with the service. The food was fantastic. I highly recommend trying the«Barbacoa Pork Scramble». Excellently done. We enjoyed our experience very much and highly recommend«Brass Tacks». Looking forward to our next visit to try more of their menu.

I’ve returned four times for brunch since my original review, and I’ve become such a huge fan. This place deserves a five-star rating, no doubt. First of all, what a burger! Big and juicy grass-fed patty, aged white cheddar, melted onions, lots of pickles, aioli, and the optional fried egg and/or bacon in a wonderful Macrina potato bun. Oh, and fantastic fries! You need this meal in your life. Second of all, that Nutella French Toast. I don’t think I need to elaborate on this much. It IS as heavenly as it sounds — and the portions are proper. I’ve always had to share! Third, how about those Bloody Marias?! Okay, they are not quite as good as Toulouse Petit’s, but these ones have a real good kick and lovely garnishes. Nicely pickled veggies and BACON. Need I say more? The least favorite brunch item I’ve had here so far was the pork scramble. It was very tasty, but the portion size was stingy. I came in with a party of 12 just this past weekend, and a few people in our party ordered it as well and felt the same way. Some needed to order a second item because it didn’t solve their hunger problems. Also, no zero-calorie sweeteners for your coffee here. Just raw sugar. I’m honestly not a big fan of this concept. No complaints about the service at all. I had to make a few changes on my reservation for our big party last weekend, and they were very accommodating. They also have a high chair for your little one. Awesome ambience during brunch, too! On Sundays, they have a live DJ spinning some really good old school tunes, which I adore.

There’s something happening in Georgetown’s nightlife. A funky mixture of hip, hippie, gastropub, art walk, whatever that’s kind of surreal. Wandered into Brass Tacks to get something to eat; again a bit disoriented as none of the photos on Unilocal jumped out as something I really lust to eat. Hit it anyway. The atmosphere is cozy with a dark inviting feeling well spaced out and there’s jazz band that was really good as some guys are playing shuffle board. What the hell is there a shuffle board here. It just doesn’t fit, but I’m still disoriented. Got seated at the community table with the odd pairs of strangers sit together in a kind of communal grouping. I actually liked it as I comment to a couple we’ve been seated here to share your meal and go home with you. We all laughed as they said that’s fine. The menu is tailored for tapas style so picked the brisket mac n’ cheese and some clams. Both were pretty good and I actually liked the mac when I initially thought the brisket would overpower the taste. Luckily, the brisket wasn’t smoked BBQ as I normally would It was actually an eclectic evening at Brass Tacks. I’m still disoriented as the sensory overload of Georgetown, smells, and atmosphere seem to just overload my senses.
