Hangar Cafe

I tried the Hangar for the first time today. I was having a hankering for crepes and saw that they specialized in them as well as waffles. Super small space, 9 tables total in an old house by Boeing field. Cute atmosphere and the staff was very nice and patient. It appears that you need to arrive right when it opens Because it was full and zero space to stand inside.
Once seated the service was prompt. I ordered the honey, banana and walnut crêpe and a side of bacon. Deeeelish! Coffee is Stumptown and my latte came out HOT which is a plus for me.
I highly recommend but might want to come on a weekday when it may be Less crowded. Although with only 9 tables that might never happen. Anyway I’ll be back!

This place is amazing. The food was delicious. It’s a cute tiny restaurant. The salt and pepper shakers are all different and so cute. It’s worth the little bit if wait you may have. The servers are friendly and excellent.

Was a great place for breakfast. The server accommodated our customization perfectly! Specially customization by Indian parents which can be pretty demanding! :)

The Breakfast Crepes were an experience to be had. Everything is very fresh, be warned elbow room is very cozy. The price is decent for the portions. I would recommend people to try at least once.

Everytime I come here it does not disappoint. Make sure to ask about the daily specials. I had forgot but the great server mentioned them. That day I ordered the french toast special. And it did not disappoint, I wanted to order home fries but Im glad I didnt because the French toast was more than filling. The inside sure does fill up fast. So if the weather is optimal sit outside or you will be in for a wait, especially when people just come in and drink coffee. Thats what Starbucks is for. Just saying.

Super cute place with magazines to read. Best turkey club sandwich I’ve ever had. Seriously. Service was fast and friendly (I went late morning on a weekday). I will definitely be back.
UPDATE: I was so excited to come back and so disappointed. It took 35 to get my club sandwich and when it arrived it was very haphazardly made. Not the experience I had the first time at all.

My friend took me to this place when I was in Seattle for the weekend. This is like hidden gem outside of downtown Seattle. The place is small and cozy with an outdoor patio. From outside, it looks like that house deep in the wood from one of those fairy tales. The food here was good. It is more like homemade still. I got The Blat on the grill section and My friend got turkey pesto from the savory crêpe. Mine was ok but nothing special. The one my friend got was really good though. The flavor is very well balanced with ton of cheese. I would only rate 3 stars because I think the food can be much better. That one extra star is for the service. The waitress was really nice and friendly.
So if you are looking for a place to hide from the chaos, this is a great place. Definitely check out crêpe or waffle here.

When we arrived we were told to «wait over there and we’ll be with you when we can.» Then our waitress told us she would be with us about 5 times.
The hostess lady brought me a coffee while I waited which was nice, but a bird crapped in the creamer container (picture uploaded.) I found out about half way through my coffee. After looking around and realizing that every table outside was ahead of us and no one had any food yet we left.
They must have just opened or something, the employees were walking around tripping over each other and not getting much done.

Came here after going glassblowing with a friend and this little café was awesome! We sat at the counter facing the air field, and were seated right away. We got the Hangar Crepes (because if it’s named after the place you gotta get it, right?!) and the lemon pan cotta waffle. WOW. Hangar crêpe was amazing, the melty cheese, the delicate skin, the crème fraîche… However my favorite was definitely the waffles. We decided to branch out and not get the classic Nutella w bananas and we were rewarded! One caveat– if you like really crispy waffles this place may not be for you, they were deliciously drenched in a melted lemon panna cotta, and topped with blackberry compote/​fresh cream. What a dream!

So disappointed… Monday morning (2.22.16) I’ve been here so many times, and the food and service has always been great. We live in Pullman (WSU) now, so when we make a trip back home we hit all our favorite spots and this was the last one we hit on our way out.
The bacon is all precooked; I saw the cook take it out of a tub. Does it make a difference??? Absolutely. I’m not an expert, but I have worked in a restaurant, and I as part of my major I take Food Science courses, sensory more specific. The bacon is not crispy and reheating any meat loses its flavor – fatty deliciousness. Crepes are supposed to be soft, not crispy. The flavors were all off, I don’t know if there was a change of management or cook, but the change was definitely noticeable.
Also the server lady, in her early 50’s, didn’t seem to want to be there. Just very cold and to the point. I get it, we all have less than stellar days and it was a Monday, but you know… Would have been nice to hear about the specials like everyone else that walked in after us.
I won’t give them 1 star, because hopefully this is something they can correct, and it was just one off day. Fix the bacon, don’t mess with the bacon and make the crepes soft again. Even if the server has a not-​so-​nice attitude, this will help a lot.
Anyway, I have brought all my out-​of-​state company here, now it’s time to find a new place.

Went on President’s day so I expected a wait. It’s a very small, cozy café located near Boeing Field. A younger waitress greeted us and took our name down for our party of 2. She told us about half an hour so we grabbed some coffee at All City Coffee to kill some time. Came back half an hour later and it was still quite busy. There’s no waiting room inside so we waited outside in the rain. I think they could expand the outside to include a tent of some sort to accommodate all the customers waiting. The other waitress was a little short with us and said to wait outside as we were in the space they were working. She seemed quite stressed and not the friendliest.
We finally got seated after about an hour at the counter in the corner, which I didn’t mind. The same waitress that was stressed was serving us. She came up to take our order and I asked what the special crêpe was. After taking the thought in she said right away I’ll give you a few minutes to decide, although I made a quick decision and told her our order as she was walking away.
They have some magazines and books to browse at while we waited. Our food came and we ate promptly. We just got the vibe that the waitress didn’t really like us being there and wanted a super fast turn over. She never asked us how our food us or if we needed anything. I understand they were busy, but it would be nice to actually feel appreciated for coming in. I overheard the table next to us talking about how the same waitress asked how they wanted their bill even before we were finished eating. I guess we weren’t the only ones feeling pressured to eat and leave. We did just that, we came up to the counter and paid our bill and left.
I know I talked a lot about the service but service can really put a damper in the mood. Despite that, I thought the food was actually really good and I can see how there’s a long wait. We got the market crêpe and banana nut waffle. It was really good and I would consider doing take out next time. Sorry I’d give 5 for the food and –1 for the service so I figure a 3 is reasonable.
I know you’re busy but taking a 5 seconds longer with your customer just makes the experience all the better.

Don’t let the outside deceive you. This is a nice place for crepes!

This is one of the best breakfasts in Seattle. The waffle with bacon and brie cheese is seriously good. The service is amazing and the place has a really nice low key feel. If you are in Georgetown Hanger café is a go-​to spot.

The place was very small but clean and well kept. Food was very good, service was great and speedy. I would definitely eat here again.

FOOD POISONING
The restaurant is in a cool space. The Hangar crêpe I had was quite good. But soon after eating there, I was throwing up for 4 hours straight. Couldn’t even hold down water. And had to take the following day off work because I was so dehydrated. So while I hope this doesn’t happen often here, I won’t be going back.

This place made me get out of my comfort zone. I do not like soft crepes and I do not like onions. But this place made me love crepes and I even enjoyed onions.
I got the most insanely delicious savory crêpe and potatoes here

Stopped by here on our last day in Seattle. Cute little exterior, and very small interior. You can see everything going on in the «kitchen» area.
I had the Market Crêpe, which was a savory crêpe with bacon, mozzarella, caramelized onions, tomato (opted), spinach and topped with poblano and crème fraîche. And it was served with a side of home fries. It was a very good portion and so delicious. I loved every bite of it.
I had a cup of coffee and orange juice as well. The coffee, although it was just regular drip coffee, was really delicious! Not burnt. They use a great bean roast.
Service was very so-​so. We, a party of three, sat comfortably at a booth. But all of the tables were very close to one another. It was a very small space, and I could see some other guests looked uncomfortable either being sat at a small table or being too close to other guests.
The lady serving us was so nice, however, our food took FOREVER to come out. We drank a good 3 cups of coffee each before we got our food. Fortunately, when we got our food, it was perfectly hot.

I have eaten there a few times now and both the food and service are consistently great. Their crepes are the best around and always fresh. although the place is very small and not much for seating… it is a Gem.

My first time here and I was very impressed! Quickly greeted and seated with my toddler. The gal working brought him over a book to look at and talked to him.
I ordered a mocha and a savory crêpe (can’t remember the name). It had lots of bacon, spinach, tomato, sautéed onion and cheese with drizzled Pablano vineagrette and Crème fraise.
I loved the quick service and friendly staff!

FOOD– I have yet to try a place with better crepes. Their house made Habanero hot sauce is addicting and pairs perfectly with a savory crêpe. I highly recommend the hanger crêpe with mushrooms. The sweet crepes are ridiculously mouthwatering good. Belgian waffles are average.
SERVICE– They do take a while so don’t come here if you’re in a rush. The trade off for waiting patiently is hand made crepes and fresh ingredients.
LOCATION– Plenty of parking out front. Interior is dumpy, if the interior was a bit nicer I would give it 5 stars. I don’t mind an old interior, but this place is falling apart and isn’t very clean.
PRICE– Great prices! Crepes are shareable if your not super hungry.

In the area and looking for a new place to try, we decided on Hangar café. The restaurant is a cute house situated in Georgetown. Upon entering, we were impressed by the savory crepes being made and the strong aroma they gave off.
Then our experience began to sour. While there were two tables empty, we were told one was reserved for another party of 2 and the other they preferred to wait for a party of 4 rather than seat us. We put our names down and proceeded to wait. Another couple entered and they put their names down as well. At this point, we were all told to wait outside in the cold since it was a fire hazard to wait inside the small restaurant. Ok.
Given it was freezing outside and two tables were available with the previous party nowhere to be seen, it would have made a lot of sense to seat both parties waiting. This would have been good customer service and quite frankly, good business sense. Isn’t it better to have a bird in hand than two in the bushes? In this case, the restaurant lost both of our businesses as we chose to leave and it appeared the other couple did so as well. I’m disappointed we didn’t get to try this restaurant and I doubt we will make a concerted effort to come back. It goes to show poor service can quickly sour an experience and lose a business customers.

Let me be person #84 to tell you this place is… small.
But for those who don’t have claustrophobia, what about the food? Well it’s good. The ingredients taste fresh and the food is seasoned well. However, for the price you pay, the portions should definitely be bigger.
I liked the Triple B waffle. I’ve honestly never had cheese on my waffles before, but the brie, basil and bacon was nice.
The Market crêpe was good too, but unfortunately did not fill me up. A couple slices of toast would have been enough.
If you’ve never been here and are a fan of crepes, then it’s worth checking out Hangar Café.

I found the Hangar Café while looking for a non-Denny’s breakfast spot to take my non-​foodie family. I was hoping they’d be willing to try breakfast crepes and thought the quirky aviation-​themed interior would be fun. Success!
The small building looks like a cute house, with a few tables out on the front patio. Inside, there are a handful of small wooden tables that seat a maximum of four. The space between tables is tight, and I really wouldn’t try to come here with a group of more than four.
Our server offered us drinks right away, and I’m sad I didn’t get the mimosa ($ 6), which apparently is served in a pint glass! Part of the charm of the place is the mismatched plates and cups, but unfortunately we got these terrible, tiny IKEA mugs with a handle that you can barely fit one finger into (but at least refills are free). Too small for my giant monster hands.
We had the Hangar Crêpe (egg, black forest ham, swiss, cheddar, slivered red onion, roma tomatoes, and baby spinach, topped with house-​made poblano basil vinaigrette and crème fraiche, $ 10.50), the Market Crêpe (apple smoked bacon, mozzarella, caramelized onions, tomato, spinach, topped with poblano and crème fraiche, $ 10.50), and the banana walnut waffle ($ 8.25). The portions were pretty generous and filling, although I had some plain crêpe left over at the end, which wasn’t quite tasty enough to eat on its own. The banana walnut waffle was quite big and very sweet.
The interior was cute, with lots of interesting stuff to look at, and they had a rack of newspapers to read while you waited for your food. I liked the mugs and T-​shirts they had for sale with their logo, and I’m not usually a logo-​T-​shirt kind of person! Service was friendly, maybe not the fastest, but we weren’t in a big hurry and didn’t mind sitting and talking.
A fun place to start off a day of Georgetown exploration, especially if the weather is nice enough to sit outside. I’d definitely go back for a sweet crêpe and maybe one of those pint-​glass mimosas!

Came here Saturday for brunch. The interior is very small with limited seating (and no, you can’t call ahead to put your name on the list — womp womp).
Luckily for us, there was plenty of seating outside on their patio and it was a relatively sunny Seattle day.
We had a party of 5 and they were very busy. Limited number of griddles to make the crepes. The server did warn us that the food would take 45 minutes (seriously?) to come out. We ordered immediately and drank our coffee and began the waiting game. I must’ve had about 3 cups of coffee before my food came.
I ordered the turkey pesto — savory crêpe with turkey, egg, spinach, tomato, and pesto. I was definitely underwhelmed. From the long food wait to the high Unilocal reviews, my crêpe left me wanting more. It was very flat and definitely needed much much more filling.
The server was very sweet and I always appreciate being warned about a long wait. This meal, however, did not feel like it justified the wait. I probably wouldn’t come back (especially since there are so many great restaurants closer to home), but if I was forced to– I would definitely try to sweet crepes next.

What a cute space and great food! Get here early because there will be a wait, and there is not a lot of space to wait inside, so hopefully it isn’t raining!
I had the special. I don’t remember exactly what was in it but I know there was Gorgonzola and bacon! It was delicious and very filling. My friend had the hanger crêpe which was also delicious. He also ordered a mimosa which was huge!
Great food, good potions and friendly service.
Like its name says, it’s close to Boeing field and it was quite noisy. Don’t anticipate intimate conversations!

Came here because I saw the Unilocal reviews! Overall, I just felt disappointed with the food here. I can only speak for the savory crepes though.
My friend and I ordered the hangar crêpe and the turkey pesto crêpe. I didn’t like the hangar crêpe because it tasted like a omelette except not nearly as good. Maybe I’m just biased against savory crepes, but I didn’t think there was anything special about this place. It’s probably better to stick to sweet crepes and waffles here.
The restaurant looks like it’s someone’s house; it has a nice, cozy and homey feel to it. However, these flies wouldn’t stop bothering me which also made my experience here not particularly great.

This little house in Georgetown is so quaint. I love the décor of the restaurant, it feels very homey. The place is kind of small but there is patio seating as well.
They had a special of the day and it was a crêpe with sausage, spinach, and sour cream which sounded really good! (I’ll come back for that) but what I really wanted to try was there Triple B Waffle which consisted of bacon, Brie and basil.
. It was so good! They served it with maple syrup but I asked for jam instead and it was wonderful! All the flavors just melded together. The soft waffle, creamy Brie cheese, crispy salty bacon, the herby basil and the raspberry jam was just so beautiful. I tried a piece without the jam and replaced it for their famous «aardvark» sauce which was a habanero sauce and it was sooooo good. Fantastic heat and flavor!
I also tried some of my friend’s potatoes she ordered and they were so well seasoned and smoky. I would’ve ordered those on the side but the waffle was so filling.
The staff was very attentive, except until after we got our check. We waited for a while but we didn’t realize we had to go up to the counter when we had to pay.
All in all, a great little breakfast spot! I’ll be back for the crêpe!

We came around noon and it was packed! There was about 3 parties ahead of us and our estimated time was 30 minutes but we ended up getting in around 15 minutes which was great.
i got the turkey pesto crêpe with a side of bacon and my boyfriend got the turkey club sandwich. Both were delicious! The crêpe just melted in my mouth but I do wish there was a little more pesto! The bacon wasn’t too salty so I didn’t have to pair it with anything which is a plus. I love me some bacon!
There was a bit of a wait because of how busy they were but the friendliness of the staff and the delicious food made up for it.

I so wanted to give this place 4 stars but I just couldn’t.

Hangar crêpe– the sliced red onions were sliced too big. I think if the onions were caramelized it would’ve been a lot better. The crêpe was amazing, very fresh and perfectly cooked. Melt in your mouth actually but my side of potatoes are just so so sad. I mean I think they ran out of potatoes and tries to split the serving between 3 people? W all got a tbsp worth of side potatoes. They were so good too but wow portion wise, it’s should not be considered a side.
Service– it’s was so so. Took a while to get our food. I mean a while. Like almost 45 mins. Luckily we were there to chitchat but still. They did apologize but It was way too long to wait. They also never refilled out water and my gf’s tea. She had to ask them to bring more hot water. Things we shouldn’t have to ask for.
All in all, cute place, cute name, great food but service and side portion could really need some sprucing up.

Other than their very long wait time. The food was amazing. I had the triple B. Simple but good combo! Loved it. Also tried the turkey pesto, that was amazing. Had tried the frittata, that too was good.
Theres plenty of parking around the neighborhood. I liked what I had today, definitely would come back another time, maybe earlier time to prevent a long wait.
