Nice place. Bright, lots of windows, comfy tables and chairs, free WiFi, and a decent Cappuccino.

It’s hard not to stop in here because it’s the closest place to eat from where I work. Still, I’m glad it’s nearby because the food and service is great. I’ve had the Paleo Bomb for breakfast and the Cuban Sandwich for lunch. My most recent lunch was the Caprese Pizza, which is the best thing I’ve had. It is a reward for your tastebuds! It was cheesy with a little kick to it. I also love the pine nuts. Oh. So. Good. The people who work there always have smiles on their faces and are always friendly. Even during the lunchtime crunch, they manage to move the line along and provide great service. Just a quick favor: Last week, I struck up a conversation with a guy who was delivering Stumptown coffee to the café. If anyone knows him(he was a younger guy with kinda thinning hair), can you get him in touch with me? I mentioned to him where I worked, and he said that he wanted to find a way to get his resume in. It didn’t strike me at the moment to offer to help him at that time(Braint fart — I was starving and the café wasn’t yet open). So, I’m kicking myself and hoping our paths will cross again, but if anyone can help, let me know.

I’m a little confused, because the café’s signage names it as Gourmando Café. Granted they have 3 locations, and this one is on Elliot Ave. I stopped by this morning hoping to enjoy a latte and collect my thoughts before an interview next door. My expectations were exceeded. Latte: Delicious! Yes, Stumptown is great and all, but the magic of my latte lay in the sweetness that my barista was able to extract from the steamed milk. So silky. So good. Food: They had delicious-looking pastries, sandwiches, cookies, yogurt… really, whatever you could possibly have a hankering for. Prices were very reasonable, though I didn’t have anything. The space: I thought it was ambient and relaxing, which was a tall order considering I had an interview in 30 mins. Kudos. Pretty much anything you could want from a café – somewhere you can sip and ponder a rainy Seattle day while listening to moody remixes of Lana Del Ray. Interbay is a little out of the way for me to make this a regular haunt, but if I were passing through I’d definitely stop by. This is made unlikely, unfortunately, since they’re closed on weekends. On the bright side, there’s no shortage of parking, nor the hordes you tend to see downtown. Also, besides being pretty friendly and making some mean coffee, can I just comment on how ridiculously attractive all the barista ladies were?

Thank goodness a place to eat finally opened up in my building! Since the café opened in December/January, I have visited almost daily(sometimes multiple times a day). They serve Stumptown coffee, which I was excited about because it’s one of my favorites. Along with my morning coffee, there are multiple breakfast options available. The best is the bacon biscuit breakfast sandwich. I can’t get enough of it! For lunch there are even more options and the food is brought in daily from their main kitchen. There are sandwiches(hot and cold), wraps, soups, salads, and various rotating specialty items. I don’t think I’ve had anything that I really disliked; everything is pretty good. The staff is wonderful! The ladies here are awesome and super friendly. Twanna is a sweetheart and makes you feel like she’s been your friend your entire life.

If the wide variety of delicious sandwiches, salads, fruit, pastries, beverages and snacks isn’t enough to wow you, the happy smile of Tiwanna certainly will! Here is a person who truly finds joy in making others happy, and that is a rare quality in the food service industry. Her bright, welcoming personality makes an already comfortable, sleek and clean café that much more inviting. She has the right balance of friendly attentiveness and efficiency, easily juggling several duties at once while ensuring each person is well cared for. Bravo, Tiwanna — Becky & I will be back soon!

This is a really fun and friendly sort-of-rustic, sort-of-modern, sort-of-European-style café. They also serve beer and wine. They serve great Stumptown coffee, plus glass to-go bottles of cold-brew. Unlike many places these days, they serve drip AND espresso. I particularly like that they have what I call«hippie sugar» — Stevia. It’s delish in their black drip coffee. The café also has food — they’re the first to open that’s run by the Gourmondo Catering Company. I finally tried the food… I had an EXCELLENT falafel wrap with tzatziki sauce(they were happy to give me multiple packets!!) and a bowl of their house-made tomato bisque. They were both fresh and tasted excellent! The falafel wrap was a thick pita with a good sized slab of falafel in there — pretty standard. It was wrapped up nicely and the sauce was easy to transport when I got it to-go. They generally have two soups; they get their Pike Place clam chowder from the guys at that random booth — AKATHEMOSTDELICIOUSCHOWDERINTHEWORLD — and make their other signature soups themselves. They also have hard-boiled eggs, baby bell cheeses, soups, salads, and sandwiches with lots of daily specials, and breakfast-type sandwiches(very similar fare to Starbucks), pastries, and MINI-QUICHES. They have daily specials, and lots of tables for lunch, as well as more comfy coffee-shop lounging areas.
