If you dig places that are hostile to puppies and baristas that shout at customers, this is the place for you. I live a block away and the coffee here is okay. But last week I walked in carrying my new puppy in my arm. I wanted to get cup of coffee to go. The line was long so I was barely inside the café. Within seconds, the barista loudly yelled to me that dogs are not allowed inside. Everyone in line – and everyone else in the café – turned and stared at me. I was surprised and embarrassed. I walked a block down the street to Uptown Espresso. The barista was friendly. She greeted my puppy and even gave her a dog treat. The coffee at Uptown Espresso is just as good. One establishment is dog-friendly, the other is dog-hostile and lets their baristas shout(bark?) orders at customers. As a pro-dog, anti-yelling resident of LQA, I’ll choose Uptown Espresso every time in the future.

This review is for espresso shot only. The toasting of the coffee is green(under toasted) and is of sour taste. Europeans stay away. Otherwise, it’s a friendly place with nice seating and street views.

This is a place where the space is always limited, the coffee is mediocre, and the baristas are rude. Even though it had a snooty atmosphere and often served stale coffee, I used to go there everyday because it is so close to my place. However, after I was rudely kicked out by a snooty barista man because I did not order a drink within five minutes of siting down, I will walk past that place every morning to other great coffee places in Queen Anne/Seattle. It will be well worth any walk or time because so far, this coffee shop was the worst I’ve experienced in Seattle. PS. I’ve been to other café ladros that had quality coffee and lattes, sanitation in the pastries(always flies in there), and a nicer atmosphere. It is just that QA staff. This Café Ladro really needs to work on customer service!

Café Ladros is a nice change from your average Starbucks cup o Joe. I got a hazelnut latte and a Swiss ham croissant. Both were okay. I was actually hoping for my latte to be a bit sweeter but I guess next time I can ask for more syrup. The service is always really good and they don’t have an overwhelming menu of options. I do really enjoy their quiches. They are decent sized and decent priced. Warm those suckers up and they make for a good breakfast/lunch.

Enjoy a lot! Nice people, setting and customer service. Pretty loud music, so bring head phones if going to do work.

We ordered drip coffee to go two days in a row. We’re here on vacation and will probably head over in the morning(third day in a row), before the airport. I take my coffee with half and half and a small amount of sugar, so I can easily taste whether the coffee is good or not. Their coffee is smooth, not bitter at all and the particular drink I had was a medium roast. Today I had their raspberry scone, and it was delish. It wasn’t too sweet, buttery and had a light glaze over top. Either than the few feeds I ran into, it was excellent. The guys working behind the counter were friendly, skilled and pretty chill.

Medici! no one quite makes an orange mocha like caffe ladro. while not my choice for a hot cup but when it’s available I’ll never pass up a sip, the wife though will never pass up a cup if she sees a CL. its bitter, sweet, zesty, and not one overpowers the others. while we’ve had orange mochas at other cafes, nothing compares to caffe ladro because of its balance and smoothness.

This is a great spot to grab a coffee. They make some of the best espresso drinks in Queen Anne. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and professional. They almost always have some really interesting art on the walls. Also, good baked goods selection /quality. Just an ideal neighborhood coffee place.

I used to love Lower QA Ladro but recently there’s been a lot of staff turnover and I never see the same person twice — I visit here about 3x/week. My formerly favorite latte is now just meh. The milk container is not tapped to rid of air trapping after steaming, and instead of a handcrafted espresso drink, I feel like I get a mediocre latte made by pushing buttons on a machine. I used to love Ladro and dreamed of their lattes when I lived in Denver, home of no good coffeeshops. Maybe I just need to find another location :(

Coffee was great, service was speedy and efficient and the price was average. Space is limited inside so if in big group don’t plan on sitting and hanging.

I have a fairly healthy coffee addiction and on a recent visit to Seattle, Caffe Ladro supplied all my hot, caffeinated needs. I made three visits in 24 hours and was actively considering a fourth. The staff is very friendly and helped with my pivotal morning decision: namely which pastry to get. I listened to their input but selected the chocolate chip cookie — twice. It was sensational. Both times. As far as java, I tried the Americano and the Macchiato and both were excellent in execution and presentation. This shop had a very relaxed vibe and I really enjoyed spending time there while wading through emails. I will return the next time I make it to the Emerald City.

Fun little café with delicious coffee & tea drinks. They also offer baked goods and some other food but didn’t try anything besides coffee. I tired the mocha with orange zest, which is an orange rind they put in the drink. It was not overly sweet and the milk was steamed and had a perfect amount of foam. My girlfriend had the maple latte, which she also loved. They offer reusable cups for $ 2.00 and you get a $ 0.25 on the drink you order. Small space with tables. They do have a few tables outside and there is a open space with tables and chairs across the street. Right on the corner of Roy and Queen Anne it was a delightful walk from our hotel just 10 minutes down the street.

Great service Fantastic coffee Prices are a bit steep for coffee, but I guess it’s worth it for the taste. Enough seating to go around Plenty of street parking nearby Wonderful music played in the shop

How I heard of this place: The first time I heard of Caffe Ladro was when I moved to Seattle and found them everywhere. The first time I went to Caffe Ladro was with my friend Ala, during the intermission at the Seattle Symphony, when we were in need of a quick shot of espresso to get us through the second half; as was the case with the first violinist we saw, downing his single shot and rushing back up the street to make curtain call. Type of cuisine: While coffee is the draw, the Caffe Ladro Bakery crafts their own scrumptious pastries and desserts, delivering them to their thirteen locations fresh, each morning. Patrons can order(even for catering) everything from muffins and scones, cookies and bars, to coffee cakes, quiche, croissants, pies, cheesecake and a variety of tarts. Ambiance: The small, cozy space on the corner of Queen Anne Avenue North and Mercer Street welcomes patrons with its bright orange walls, dark, wooden chairs and tables and very Seattle-esque baristas. Several chairs and tables are available for summer seating outdoors, although most choose to sit inside with their computers and iPods attached. The bar is the first thing patrons see as they enter the windowed establishment, complete with glass dessert display and large espresso machine. A handful of tables and chairs are available to patrons, with enough space between so as not to disturb neighboring café-goers when coming and going for more caffeine or snacks. Music plays quietly in the background, and the sounds of traffic outside stream monotonously inside. What I ordered: On this trip, we stopped in to meet a photographer for my upcoming wedding and decided to partake of a couple of items that sounded and looked fabulous! I started with a Tall Medici($ 3.25), single ristretto with non-fat milk. The mocha came with my favorite, a spring of fresh orange rind! Included in my order was one large, soft and moist Molasses Cookie($ 1.75). One of my two dining companions ordered a Grande Latte($ 3.55) and a chocolate Croissant($ 3). The third in our party, shared my cookie! What I loved: The cookie was beautiful! Moist, light and fresh. The orange rind adding excellent flavor to the lightly chocolated mocha. Why I loved it: The space was conveniently located, the coffee made well and the pastries simple, yet flavorful. The quiet ambiance, the creative color and simple artwork welcoming. Cost: Average($ 3-$ 4 per espresso beverage)

this is some tasty coffee! staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating the day we came. they were doing a bumbershoot promo(buy one, get one free with tix) and there was 4 of us but since we were just in the neighborhood for lunch, i had left my backpack in the car with the tix down the street a little bit. i told her i’d be right back so i could just go grab them but she said it was cool and hooked us up. she split ringing the order up in to 2 transactions so it saved us more money. ha! i’m not sure if she would have been able to do that if it was crazy busy(nor would i expect her to) but she knew the system and knew how to take care of her customers and that’s an A+ in my book. the coffee was great so there was that too…

A solid cappuccino, enjoyed mine even without any additional fixings. What really did it for me about this place were the baked goods, had a delicious vegan oatbar. It was hard to figure out everything in it but I definitely picked up some applesauce, almonds, and rhubarb. That might’ve been the pick me up I needed more than the coffee.

Espresso experience was pretty good. One afternoon a barista made me a cappuccino that seemed a little off, but the other four visits I made over several days were perfect. I also requested a custom iced cappuccino sort of drink yesterday and the guy was nice enough to make it for me. I turned out delicious and made for a fun experience. Enjoyed the baked goods as well.

Whenever I want something a little different, or perhaps a bit stylish, I go to Caffe Ladro for their Medici, a hot mocha with a fresh swirling orange peel bathing inside. I am not a fan of this particular location: the traffic can be loud at the corner of Queen Anne and West Roy, and for some reason this small café can get burning up hot! That being said, the energetic staff at Caffe Ladro offer a relaxing experience.

I love the Giacometti-inspired logo of the creepy-cool stick shadow. Caffe Ladro makes a solid cup of coffee — a reliable alternative to the ubiquitous green mermaid’s. Your experience of that cup, however, and this establishment, will vary considerably depending on the barista. When I first visited a few months ago, the snoot was so stiff that I wanted to stab it with my swizzle stick. Last weekend, however, was fine. Hopefully as an establishment and as chain, there will be attitude control across the board, but don’t let one off-putting experience keep you away forever. Having said that, this isn’t the kind of café you’d want to sit in for too long anyhow. On a nice day, grab a cup to go and head up the hill to Kerry Park, or hone your spiritual compass in the outdoor labyrinth at St. Paul’s down the street.

Good iced latte. Delightful barista in personality but wasn’t very attentive when I couldn’t get internet and was trying to ask him for about 15 minutes(as soon as he reset it, it was fine) or when I needed to use the bathroom(didn’t tell me there was a bathroom key and I stood to the side lining up for the bathroom for like 5 minutes before another customer told me). I’d probably come back to get a coffee to go.
