I stopped in on a whim with a few friends on a Sunday afternoon. The food was good, although nothing stood out as excellent. The fried chicken was standard issue, probably ordered from US Food Service, or some other major food supply company. The fried chicken was deep fried to perfection, neither soggy nor too hard. The Ramen soups are okay but don’t stand out in any way. The service was decent, a little slow perhaps but it appeared that our server was running the front of the house alone. I might come back here again, however since there are quite a few eateries on University Avenue that are of average quality, service, etc. It may be a little while before I eat at this establishment again.

This place hasn’t changed too much since I last visited it a couple of years ago. Service is a hit or miss here and food quality varies depending on what you ordered. Came here with a friend for a dinner and it was a so-so experience. Since we were super hungry, we ordered cheese duboki(ricecakes), wings + fries combo and the omelette(fried rice that is wrapped by an egg omelet on the outside). It did take a while for any of the staff to notice us and throughout our dining experience, we had to try pretty hard to catch anyone’s attention for water refills and to ask questions. The food itself was alright. Wings and fries were standard and average and for the omelette rice, this was decent but lacked any real depth or taste to the dish. For the cheese duboki, we were surprised at how long it took for this dish to come out. After receiving our entrees and waiting around for at least half hour, this appetizer dish finally came out. Taste of the duboki? Meh. The cheese was a bit too heavy and overcooked, which overwhelmed the spicy sauce on the rice cakes. The rice cakes itself were too tough and chewy and overall, this was a disappointment to one of my usual favorite Korean dishes. Prices for food/drinks at this place are average and a bit overpriced for some certain items. Parking is tough since the restaurant is located on the ave where street parking itself is limited, especially during meal times. One upside to this restaurant was the music. I definitely did enjoy the nice Kpop music in the dimly lit restaurant.

Came here around 5 pm on a Wednesday night waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order. Waited 45 minutes for food to come to the table despite the fact the place wasn’t packed. Chicken wasn’t BBQ I feel so lied to. And the portion was small. Overall terrible experience and the chicken was alright.

If you’re one of those people who scroll through Unilocal really fast and don’t read through the reviews– let me break it down for you. Good but overpriced. If you’re craving hot wings — go to Earl’s. If you’re craving Korean food — go to Korean Tofu House. But I guess if you’re really craving Korean hot wings you might have to come here. Just be willing to spend a little extra dollahhhh.

Don’t be fooled by the name there is no BBQ sauce here. BBQ Chicken = Best of Best Quality Chicken, a Korean fried chicken shop. Most times I’ve been here in the afternoon the place hasn’t been particularly busy, so easy to get a table for largish groups. Service is a little lacking, and wait time for food is a little on the long side, but probably some of the best Korean Fried Chicken on Seattle side. I’d get the bone-in wings instead of the boneless. GOOD * Original — Crunchy tasty fried chicken. Not particularly spiced up, so I generally prefer the sauced wings for more flavor. * Honey Garlic — Probably the best flavor. Sweet and garlicky. * Spicy — Solid if you can handle the heat. MEH * Popcorn Chicken — Has a slight tinge of spiciness. But not a lot of chicken for the price. I’d just get the normal fried chicken.

Literally, as I am writing this review, I am still waiting for my 5 pieces original fried chicken. After I typed this sentence, I got my chicken. Totally wait time was 30 minutes. Seriously, I rather go to KFC. I have been to other BBQ chicken and I understand that there is a wait since they fry-to-order, but not 30 minutes! Suggestion is to make a phone order and pick it up when it is ready!

bb wings are so good, def the must have here in this restaurant. ordered corn cheese and spicy soup w/ham and sausage, the later one was actually a little overpriced. The service was good but the food came a little slower than we expected. There was 9 wings in the bucket. I do not know if it was supposed to be 8 or 9 or 10. The menu in eat 24 did not list the sashimi bowl I think but they do have it.

Came here one evening for dinner with family based in Seattle. We ordered an assortment of fried wings, tteokbokki, and jjigae. The wings were lacking in the standard of crunchiness I was expecting, but they were nonetheless nicely flavored with hot, spiciness. Disappointingly, the tteokbokki was brought to us at a lukewarm temperature. Flavoring and taste wise, however, it was good. By far, the jjigae was the best out of everything from BBQ Chicken. Mainly because it was the warmest and most filling item. As my 2-star rating states, the meal was Ok, but I definitely have experienced better Korean cuisine elsewhere for equally the same price.

To be honest, I don’t think their BBQ wings has any difference to Mc or KFC. Too little sauce.

I walk by this place at least twice a day. It is non-existent to me. Their chicken was as tiny as a penny. Rice cake in rabokki is sticky, not chewy; it looked dry even before we touched it. You get a free 12 oz soda if you show your Korean Student Union(KSU) sticker. If you want good Korean fried chicken, I recommend driving 20 minutes to Stars in the Sky.

Dreadful. Gets worse every year. I feel like the people running this place(all of them over the years) have no idea how to run a business. Service is insanely slow.

Fried chicken is good! Got the honey garlic and was delicious. Korean food wise, not very impressed.

This is definitely a place for college students. Inside is not too clean but also not too dirty. It’s somewhere I’d imagine you go to get some drinks and Korean bar food. I guess it’s a decent option for Korean fried chicken in UDistrict. But it’s not that notable or great when compared to BonChon or other fried chicken places in LA or NY. If you do come here, I would recommend the soy garlic wings.

Prepare to wait a long time for your food! Came in for the fist time for a to go order because I’ve been craving fried chicken really bad. Got a 5 piece(S1) and waited 25 minutes believe it or not! Also paid $ 11 for it. Ouch. Fulfilled my craving but honestly nothing special about these korean wings. I prefer Popeyes. More flavorful and juicy– oh and faster.

More like a 3.5 star, but I’ll round up because I love fried chicken. Recently I stopped by BBQ Chicken for lunch during the weekday. I’ve only ever walked by here but this was the first time I decided to go for it. The restaurant inside is pretty nice, clean, and empty(there was 1 table occupied when I showed up). The music was very loud though, I would suggest turning it down a smidge for folks who just want to have lunch and leave. I ordered their 3pc fried chicken with fries meal combo. It took about twenty minutes to come out but it was delicious. The fries were crinkle cut fries which normally make me very sad, but these were cooked perfectly and seasoned just right too. The three pieces of chicken were good-sized. I identified a large wing and 2 kind of random pieces, not sure what parts they were. The crispy skin was excellent. The meat was moist(except one piece was a little dried out). It was just under $ 10 for this combo and I didn’t even finish the fries. Oh and another thing that impressed me was that the ketchup was nice and COLD when brought out. I would be interested in trying their saucy wings, however, due to the time issue, I may call ahead for a pick-up.

The first time I came here the chicken was great, but the second time was a little bit different and tastes almost like melted plastic.

Been here a couple of times and I always get the bbq chicken. I really like korean and I enjoy going here every once in a while. I also love the rice cake dish. It’s amazing. But the only thing I dislike about this place is the service. I think it’s expected given how little staff that they have. They only have two waitress that help out. But the music is kind of hilarious to listen to. But I would recommend this place.

At the time I wrote this, my girlfriend and I have waited 20 minutes at the table for the waitress to take our order. There is two waitresses, and 5 tables of people. My girlfriend has been waving her hand in the air for 5 minutes. This is ridiculous. The food? I’ve been here several times, twice out free will, half a dozen times out of coercion by other people. The food is so horrible. The classic chicken is decent, but it’s a 1.5x as expensive as it should be. The popcorn chicken is 2x overprice, considering the portion is tiny for $ 8(see picture). I ordered the boneless chicken once. It wasn’t the regular fried chicken but boneless. No, it was essentially a really bad version of sweet and sour chicken you can get at Panda Express for ½ the price. It was super dry. I also had the stir fried squid, as well, and compared to the half dozen Korean restaurants I’ve had this dish at, this place was the worst. The texture was a little off too, not sure how old the squid is. At the time of writing this 2⁄50 of my reviews are a 1-star rating. My rating are distributed like a bell curve with mostly 3’s, less 2’s and 4’s, and few 5’s and 1’s. This restaurant is in the lower 5% percentile. Its overpriced even if the food was decent, but the food isn’t even decent. Then the horrible service.

After a long workout on a Wednesday night, my boyfriend decided to take me to BBQ Chicken, one of his many go-to spots back when he was a student at UW. Damn, I envy you UW students — y’allz got decent food options so close to campus. Yes, there’s a BBQ Chicken in LA, but us Trojans have to drive there! For a place that’s called BBQ Chicken, your best bet would be to order the chicken, and maybe throw in a couple side dishes too. We ordered the honey garlic chicken, soybean paste soup, and Korean seafood pancake. The wait for our food was lengthy, which I found a little odd since there were only a couple other tables occupied. But once our food arrived at the table, everything hit the spot. The chicken was juicy with a crisp, flavorful glaze — just how I remember it back in LA. The soybean soup had a great spice to it, and the seafood pancake was large and filling. The waitresses looked bored out of their minds, but they were attentive enough to refill our waters and hand us the bill when requested. I found the chicken to be a bit on the pricey side though, which I think defeats the purpose of college eats(aka quick and cheap food). But all-in-all, BBQ Chicken serves decent food for the college crowd. Tip — after eating at BBQ Chicken, wash down the savory chicken with some sweet and refreshing tea from Tea Republik next door!

Got the extra spicy fried chicken and Ddeokbokki. The food is pretty good. I would definitely go again. The only reason I gave them a 2 star instead of a 5 is that i found a rubber band in my food. At first, since it was green, I thought it was like a small stringlet of green onion. However upon chewing it was apparent that it was a green rubber band. What?
