Vanilla Monk’s Blend and Lavender Cream Earl Grey milk tea are the best! But I think I will need to order extra sweet next time :)

As visitors to Seattle and craving an Asian sweet tea/bubble tea, we checked out Tea Republik and thought milk tea was what we were getting. Stepped in and quickly noticed the quiet environment. I felt the need to keep my voice down as this place is more of a casual, study-type café, rather than say casually hanging out at Yeti Yogurt. Regardless, looking at the menu, my group and I tried to find something close enough to a milk tea, and the barista was very helpful. Ordered the Malibu’s Kiss, which is an Asian tea with coconut flavor, like an iced coconut tea latte. While I like coconut flavors, Malibu’s Kiss is just alright, not something I’d order again, but am glad I tried. If I want Asian bubble tea, I’ll probably venture to the International District and pick up something from Bambu.

I love this place. I get the same thing each and every time = lavender earl grey tea. It’s so smooth, naturally sweet w/honey, and sooooo good!

Pretty relaxing atmosphere, with big paper lanterns everywhere. I went in on a Sunday evening recently and the entire place was packed of people on their laptops. I’ve studied there too, but it was just kind of weird to see it on that scale. Their Thai Tea and Moroccan Mint with Cream are always two that I have trouble deciding between. The mint one tastes like melty bliss of mint ice cream.

This place is a really great spot. It’s convenient for meetings, hanging out, relaxing, and for enjoying a unique flavor. The lighting is usually darker than I would like, but I understand they they’re trying to create an atmosphere to enjoy your drink. From the flavor a that I’ve tried, I would say the tea here is excellently brewed. Of course, it’s not the best, but definitely not the worst. The price is a bit steep for the flavor and the amount that you get, but there aren’t many places that can match the experience of enjoying tea here

Another amazing find for drinks!!! It’s a simple, classy place next to BBQ Chicken on the ave. They have a wide variety of drinks from fruit teas to floral milk teas, both can be made hot and cold(: A great place to hang, study, or just to catch up on some reading!

Finally tried this place. Wanted to grab a drink before shopping at UO across the street. I had higher hopes for the atmosphere. It was really cheap in appearance(ikea everywhere) and it was dark and muggy. Interior and vibe is just not there. That’s a big deal for a café /studying kinda place. I got an Iced Elephant Chai and it was very good! The staff were very friendly, attentive and fast! I’d like this place more if it were prettier. For now it will be a grab and go place. I plan to visit the cap hill location to see if its any easier on the eyes.

One of the favorite places to come study! Very good environment but you cannot be too loud over here since every one here is quietly doing their stuff or just is just talking in a moderate volume. Also a great selection of tea with some very interesting ones I have never seen anywhere else. So tea lovers should for sure come check this place out. Only drawback which is why I give a four star is that they do not allow outside food, which I understand but what if I am trying to eat something when I am studying… or have some takeout to finish when being with my friends…

Really good earl grey lavender tea and cool ambiance! Also, there were many choices — I would go again if I was local!

I stopped in after reading the great Unilocal reviews and I was not disappointed! I tried the elephant vanilla chai and it was sooo good. I wished I lived in Seattle, I would go here all the time. They also sell their loose leaf teas by the oz. I got 2oz of their Kama sutra chai, rose petal herbal tea, and bourbon street vanilla rooibos. I can’t wait to try them all :)

I never considered coming here until I was suddenly craving some richer teas that wasn’t as sugary as share tea. This place has a great selection to choose from! I personally like tea with cream so I chose the vanilla monk’s blend and it was perfect. Not too sweet which is what I was looking for. My girlfriend got the lavender cream earl grey and her drink in both our opinions was too sweet and the lavender flavor was overpowering. I would definitely try out their wide selection and see what flavors you enjoy the most!

Hands down that this is one of my favorite tea places. If you need a quiet and relaxing place to do schoolwork or catch up with friends, this is a pretty nice place to chill at. Tea Republik mainly specializes in various kinds of teas, from their special tea fusions to loose leaf and if you like to see some magic happen, try a tea that blooms while it sits in hot water served on a clear teapot. One of my personal favorites is: Lavender Earl Grey Crème and the various tea fusions. What I think this place excels at is taking different kinds of teas and blending them together for an unique taste. For the Lavender Earl Grey, it’s a creamy like drink that the lingering taste will be of Earl Grey while your taste buds will be flooded by the fragrant Lavender scent. If you are not a fan of cream in your tea, there is an option to use soy milk in the tea fusion drinks. For all other options, there is a lot of varieties in black tea, green tea, loose leaf tee, white tea and etc! I highly recommend checking out this place if you’re a tea fan(do note, this is not a bubble tea place or any of the such). Also, you do get the option of drinking your tea hot or cold. Dining in will equal a cute tea pot(for the hot drinks) or glasses(cold drinks) while take out will equal your regular carry out cups. So cheers to good tea and raise those pinkies up! :)

Tea Republik’s teas are much more fragrant than drinks at bubble tea shops I’ve visited, and you can actually taste the various flavors that goes into the drink. They have such a wide drink menu too! I love the lavender crème earl grey tea here! This is definitely the spot to go if you want tea or milk tea. If you’re looking for tapioca or other toppings though, you’ll have to skip this place, as they aren’t a bubble tea shop and they don’t offer that. Check out one of the several bubble tea places on/near the Ave for that. The only unfortunate part is that it’s so popular, it’s usually full whenever I visit, and it’s not the best space for working/studying. I usually just get drinks to-go now. It’s still a great spot to share a pot of tea with friends if you visit at a less busy time though!

Hands down the best drink to get and if you’re in a fruity mood: Tropical rain forest. Ask for it to be light sweet if you don’t have a huge sweet tooth! If you’re in more of a creamy/milk mood: Lavender Earl Grey Milk tea. I’m not very fond of the strong flowery tastes in drinks so I ask for less of the lavender flavor and stronger on the earl grey. It’s perfect!

Tea on tea on tea. For tea lovers, this is a great place! This is not a boba place. Brent got the iced Thai tea, it was okay. It was made differently and somewhat tasted like a water-down drink. The worker who made that drink was rushing to get off work, so it was made shitty. I guess it all depends on what time you come here and what drink you drink. After the first drink we ordered, we left and searched for another place for good drinks.

I actually like the tea. It’s not a boba place here. It’s a tea place. Ordered the paradise bird and it was really good. It has a strong vanilla flavour with fruity taste. Very refreshing. Got to come back to try more. They also have free wifi. Password is tango mango For them to have that password. The tango mango drink must be their tea feature or popular tea. Will try that next time.

Another day… Another search for a cup of tea. This is a passion, indeed quite possibly an obsession. Okay, enough with the attempt at trying to act all sophisticated and civilized, I need a cuppa! :D I was checking out some of the reviews from other Unilocalers, and there are a lot of them so THANKYOU for all for your efforts(go Unilocalers!), and so after a careful review of the reviews, I thought I would give this place a try. First impressions are that I like the layout and was happy there are some empty couches because I cannot sit in the hard chairs for too long without getting all squirmy. I think It brings back horrible childhood memories from a terrible teacher I had… She was always telling me to «stop squirming Jeffrey» in a high pitched yet somewhat melodic voice that was both annoying and hypnotic at the same time.(Wow that was crazy flashback I just had!) I walked in and approached the counter and there were two far more hipper than I people discussing some existential stuff about the possibility of purchasing something to eat and debating the moral and societal implications of their choice.(I should sadly point out that most people qualify as hipper than I am!) The guy at the counter is a total saint and as an enlightened young man, he patiently explained all he could about said snack to the two of them.(I could swear I heard harps playing when he spoke!) Of course they decided to not actually purchase the product they were discussing and left looking for dietetic Nirvana elsewhere. It was my turn to order, finally… I did not even bother to continue browsing the menu and asked for their best Jasmine tea. He asked if green tea was good and he also gave me the option to get several different pot sizes. I chose the larger of the two so I will hopefully have some caffeine to accompany me on my exploratory romp in the university district later.(Yeah caffeine! Our friend who never lets us down… until we come down!) I liked that I ordered the tea but the proprietor actually brought it out to me instead of me waiting for it. Waiting in a line brings back memories of another teacher I had who used to make us wait in line to get into the fallout shelter. She would always tell us to «stay calm and walk slowly into the shelter with our hands on the shoulder of the student in front of us. I always worried that when the bomb finally hit that I would still be waiting on line.(Sorry you’re a piece of toast Jeff, but rules are rules!) As my tea was seeping I looked around and saw the huge selection of tea they have and was very happy. It was explained to me that it was all bought from somewhere in New York. As a native New Yorker that made me hear distant echoes of Frank Sinatra say«tea from New York, dig it and drink up baby!» In all seriousness, a great place, great selection of teas, patient and knowledgable staff who actually seem happy at their jobs and smile! That can totally make a difference in how you perceive a place. I am definitely coming back! After all, I got a frequent drinkers card so I need to fill it up! Ten stamps and I get a 16oz drink for free. So many possibilities.

Atmos: Nice! I love the low lighting — it keeps tasks easy on the eye and a cool demeanor of the persona. The lamps are a great splash of character. Service: Friendly. Very chill and gave me an overview of the menu making it easy to navigate. Traditional Iced Tea — Ti Kwan Yin Iron Goddess: Legit! Definitely the distinctive Ti Kwan Yin flavor. A strong steep but not in a bad way. The steep was well timed and didn’t loose flavor or depth during the transfer of hot to iced. I’ll be back to try others!
