Visiting from out of town and saw Pagliaccis on our way back from our hotel. Convinced my Partner to try it. Ordered 2 slices of Pepperoni pizza and Nonna’s Pasta. After 10 mins I got my pizza. After 20 mins I asked where the pasta was. They said they forgot but would either make it or give me my money back without the food. We wanted to eat so I let my pizza get cold while they made his pasta. No offer for anything after waiting 40 mins. Definitely won’t be back.

I love all Pagliacci locations! The crust is the main reason why I love their pizza. It has the perfect bite and chew to it. They just make really good pizza. The Capitol Hill location is by far my favorite but this one has cute covers of movies.

The pizza is fine. Average. Last time I was there I was served a burnt slice(black and tough on the bottom). The cook laughed about it when I showed him. I assume there is better pizza in the U-District.

This pizza is amazing!!! For $ 3 dollars you will get a slice of heaven let me tell you. It’s the perfect size, crunchiness, and don’t get me started on the cheese and pepperoni. Best pizza I have ever had and I’ve eaten a lot of pizza. You will not be dissapointed. Well only if you don’t get more than a slice :)

The Pagliacci on The Ave refused to serve me because I work for Postmates. It should make no difference to them… I was ordering food and about to pay for it, but then when they found out I work for Postmates I was refused service and wasn’t given a reason. I have never been denied service at any establishment before. Extremely bad business practice on the part of Pagliacci.

I come literally everyday! I work nearby and the service is awesome! I always get the same thing and all the staff get it started as soon as they see me. Love them!

What’s with the crusts so brittle that it cuts your mouth? And then trying to revive a slice that’s been sitting to long by running it through a toaster? Now it’s even harder! I like to be able to fold my pizza. Pagliacci used to be the BEST pizza, but now it’s just crap. Really disappointing.

Solid thin crust pizza, but not worth the price. I can’t say anything really bad about the pizza we had, but it had better knock my socks off for a $ 30 pie. Crust was good but plain. Thinner than I like, but baked perfectly. Sauce was just about right, not too spicy or too plain, but there wasn’t much of it. The toppings were good and seemed fresh, but were a little on the thin side. I’m not a pizza snob; I’m okay with Pizza Hut or Dominoes most of the time, but I always figure there must be something really great I’m missing at specialty(read expensive) pizza places. The few times I’ve tried a highly reviewed«local» pizza place, I’ve almost always come away underwhelmed. Not necessarily because the pizza was bad, but because it didn’t live up to the hype or the price. This pizza was good, but I’d have been just as pleased with a Combo pizza from Costco’s food court. It’s just as big, has more generous toppings, better crust IMHO, and would have left $ 20 in my wallet!

Pagliacci pizza is the best. I love it. I love the fresh ingredients, the crust and good service. Make sure you order your own pie or you’re most likely going to get an old slice and have a bad experience. You will take any leftovers home, if you don’t eat the whole thing. This was the first location I visited in the chain in 2009. Still amazing pizzas here. A few tables are available here and parking is a pain since it’s the U District. The best bet is to park behind the drugstore down the street.

Quick easy simple. I am personally the type of pizza lover that doesn’t like thick and heavy greasy pizza. I enjoy pizza that’s thin and savory. Pagliacci is fresh and meets all my pizza needs. They have pizza by the slice so if you don’t have time to cook like me and just need a quite bite it’s the perfect place.

Good service, however the pizza was sort old. Also ordered bread sticks, which they burnt, so they gave us the burnt one and gave us another order of «normal» ones free of charge. The breadstick are meh at best. It’s an okay pizza place, but not really worth the price.

The pizza looks amazing. Several YouTube videos and Unilocal reviews enticed me to come here for the first time from a couple neighborhoods over. Break The guy at the counter was a total jerk, automatic 2 stars. Besides not being busy at all and three staff members working, when I approached the counter to order from the gentleman that waited and stared at me while I looked over the menu, he responded«yah, that guy down there can take your order.» What a jerk. Forget this location. These employees clearly have no sense of customer service or hospitality.

Get the freshest slice available. If you have a group, consider ordering a whole pizza. I’m giving Pagliacci five stars contingent on this advice. If you don’t heed it, you’ll likely have a three or four star experience. Don’t be afraid to voice your desire for the freshest slice possible. Naturally, they will try to give you the oldest slice if you don’t ask. Be a little high maintenance. It’s your right. You want a slice that doesn’t need reheating. As for the particular pies: the Grand Salami Primo is the meat lovers pizza to end all meat lovers pizzas. The Pesto Primo is great, but I add chicken. You can’t go wrong with the simple pepperoni, if(can you guess what this is contingent on?) it’s fresh. Pesto salad, which is actually a cold pasta dish, is also good. Pagliacci isn’t cheap pizza. It doesn’t taste like it either. Awesome cheese, awesome sauce, great ingredients. Just get it fresh.

I am taking them down to 2 stars since they have gone from my favorite Pizza Place in the area to equal to take home frozen. Coming from New York City — I grew up loving pizza. One of the things I enjoyed about NY pizza is the thin crust with a taste other then cardboard. Pagliacci use to have that — and we have been coming to this one(location) since it opened. No longer — the crust has gone down to NW bland. Yes it could be my taste buds but I did talk to three different managers at various locations and they confirmed the company is «experimenting». Interesting concept — a pizza that allows you to grow to many stores and after success — you change it. I am hoping they will return to the days of good and bring back the Pizza we loved. NOTE — this is not just my attitude but friends that have been with us and my NY sister who has also had many experiences of the good. Service is good and I love the atmosphere of the older ones(this one) and the newer ones — but the taste is why we went — and that is gone.

Still probably the best place to get pizza near UW, although sadly the quality has declined a bit over the last year or so. The crust has gotten thinner(for the worse) and the pizza itself a little greasier. The toppings themselves are still tasty and fresh, but the prices aren’t cheap. I’ll most likely come back because it’s the best option in the area.

It’s a good pizzeria, nothing that stands out from the ordinary. However, for the price they are charging, the pizza isn’t that much different in terms of quality from a papa johns or a dominos. Pepperoni slices were rather greasy, the crust on the bottom was really hard and difficult to chew. If you’re craving pizza, there are other options that are better value for your money. The only thing this place has going for it is that it’s on the ave and convenient. I don’t think there are any other pizzerias in the area.

Great pizza! I order at this establishment at least once a month. I always get the margherita pizza with prosciutto and it never disappoints! I love the fact that when you order they know who you are and know exactly what you have ordered in the past. This is definitely my favorite pizza delivery place in the area! Update: I custom made a pizza(please see the photo attached). I have to admit, the custom made pizzas were very expensive. I guess that’s what you should expect when you get double the ingredients of a three ingredient pizza. Regardless, you pay for what you get. If you love quality pizza, I would definitely pay the extra money to get this! If not, I would settle with a Pizza Hut or Domino’s Pizza.

I visited this place while on vacation last week because it seemed to be the only pizza place in the area and it was close to our hotel. My boyfriend and I were a little put off by the low stars, but were hungry and decided to go for it anyway. We ordered the 12th Man Primo and with only a 20 minute wait, our pizza was ready for pickup. Service at the restaurant was quick and friendly, with a piping hot pizza ready for us within minutes of our arrival. The pizza itself was great! The toppings tasted fresh and the little sweet peppers they added to it were awesome. My only complaint is that the crust was a little too greasy, but overall things were yummy. I wish we had this place in Utah!

3 words… SPICYSICILIANSALAD!!! Holy smokes probably the best salad ever. My boyfriend and I split the large and we were both so full. The dressing is sooooooo goood, I don’t even know how to describe it but it def gets a lil spicy after awhile. I asked for mine without artichokes and added diced onions. Delicious. I wish we had this place in LA. I’d probably get their salad everyday.

The fam and I stop here when we want pizza by the slice. Typically that means: 1) we can’t agree on what to eat; 2) we all want different slices; or 3) we’re on the move. The space is clean and employees are friendly. They usually have a slice of pizza that is interesting enough to make it to my belly. I’ve found the pizza to be good, whether ordering a slice of cheese or a slice with as many different kinds of meat they have to offer. I tend to stop by here around mid-afternoon. I find it’s not too busy and makes for a pleasant dining experience. It’s a-ok in my book.

So, my friend and I are watching the scene in Karate Kid when Daniel and Ali go on their date to Golf & Stuff, and suddenly pizza sounded good. I don’t mind springing for Pagliacci if the occasion is right.(Oscar night, first episode of a new Sopranos season.) This was the honest large, extra pepperoni with sausage and gorgonzola. The pizza came to $ 30 after a reasonably generous tip. But yes, the pizza WAS that good. Just remember this pizza DOESNOT reheat well. The pizzaeria on the Ave. is excellent. I have enjoyed many Ceaser salads and a slice on numerous occasions, way more than I order at home.
