Not sure what the fuss is all about. Went in for lunch on a Saturday. Huge restaurant was fairly vacant for lunch. We were seated in the bar, so the bartender doubled as our server. Nice guy but a little too friendly. We Ardennes the chorizo stuffed jalapeños. When they arrived. They were lukewarm at best, as if they had been sitting in the kitchen pass for a while(definitely NOT under a heat lamp!). Then we ordered the steak tostadas and porkbelly quesadilla. The quesadilla was more belly than pork, almost completely fat, and pretty bland. The tostadas were kind of good, but again bland. Chips and salsa were extremely generic. Overall, this place doesn’t make it into the rotation of places we will go back to

This place is a gem. It offers a new twist to Mexican food. We ordered the chorizo quest which is excellent. For dinner, we had pork belly quesadilla, pesto pasta and bacon wrapped shrimp and all were wonderful. The Margaritas are strong and two is more than enough! The only downside is our server was inattentive and we had to track him down if we need something.

First time experience here. The waiter was kind and took our order promptly. Then I got a little worried she forgot to get our beer, it was taking very long, finally we got out bar drinks, but took way too long. I was was Soon thirsty for another beer and I asked a manager that was walking by and she rapidly brought it to me. Our appetizer came at almost same time as the food thought. I was gonna give This place 2 stars but because the food was a good 5 stars and the manger quickly got me a beer it compensated well. I would recommend that waiters check on you more often. But overall I recommend it. The bar could use some help on making a michelada.

We came here for their HH. When we asked the server if they had a HH menu he simply pointed us to the appetizers on the regular menu and said they are specially priced and the cocktails are $ 5. We had to pry and ask him for details to get more info on the HH specials. Not the greatest way to start the experience but moving on . We got our food and ONE thing was good. Everything was super salty and on the dry side. The beef tostadas were dry and salty. The pork belly enchiladas were dry and salty. Their queso verde was salty. I think the only think the entire party enjoyed was the calabaza cakes. Service was painfully slow even though they were not busy at all. I would give them a 1-star rating but honestly their drinks were good enough to give them an extra star. Parking is plentiful and the restaurant itself is quite nice and clean. Too bad for the super salty and dry food along with the snarky/slow service.

I went here with a large group for happy hour. They were great about providing space for us. The chips and salsa and the margaritas were excellent. The prices are very reasonable. It’s a pleasant place to hang out. I will be back.

Very delicious! We had the Queso, the Calabaza Cakes, the Enchiladas de Pollo, the Pork Pastor, and all were delicious. The sides – Cilantro Lime Rice and Roasted Corn were also delicious. The service was good. I do have to take one star off for being served beans when I explicitly asked for no beans. Other than that, this is a great place, and we will be back.

We stopped by Verde’s for an app and drink before heading to Flix Brewhouse. I haven’t been this space since it became Verde’s and was incredibly impressed with the makeover. The spacious restaurant feels open and modern. There is a nice dining room, a lounge & bar area, covered patio seating and private dining areas. We sat at the bar to watch the games. The wine selection is not shabby with about 22 bottles and 7 wines served by the glass. They have a nice selection of beers with mostly local taps and some gorgeous looking cocktails. I ordered a glass of Pinot Gris wine and the hamachi ceviche. The zesty ceviche was brightly flavored served on crisp tostadas. I enjoyed the ceviche but would have liked more fish in the mix. I look forward to dining here again soon and trying more menu items. Bonus, purse hooks at the bar!

Ask for a «Jamaican Me Wanna Have Sex on the Beach» from Steven or Sam. It’s so… Amazing! The food is tasty, the ambiance is fresh, it’s a great bar for the price! Some of their generic drinks are on the sweet side, but hey, maybe you like that kind of thing.

You have to try this gem! Very tasty and out of the ordinary food. We had an excellent queso and my stuffed quails(dinner portion) were just perfect. I’m not sure how they prepare them but you have very little bone to deal with and yummy stuffed rice and the most crispy bacon! Yeah! My honey got an interesting margarita with recently re-released Yvette cream. Quite tasty and strong!

We had a solid first time experience at this restaurant. I enjoyed the décor of this place, and I love how spacious I found it. This is the sort of place a customer wants to host a party. Off to the right in the main dining room is a large party room decorated with oak barrels, a farm table and over sided leather chairs. Over near the bar area there is a much larger banquet room. I am not sure how many people this area can hold but I has to be a lot! So once we were sat at the table we made quick work of sizing up the menu. To my surprise I found items like pork belly, rabbit, quail and even duck. I settled on the chorizo queso and chicken enchiladas. Everything tasted delicious and if I had a complain it would be that the spicy level to be turned up just a tad. But all the spice I was looking for in the meal was found in my velvet crown frozen margarita. This place pours a solid cocktail and trust me you will not fill under served. You get what you pay for and this restaurant uses quality ingredients in their cocktails and their food. I rounded out the meal with a blueberry bread pudding. I found myself fighting over who would get to finish with my beau… I won that fight! So to conclude I would recommend this place and I will return.

There is a reason why Verde’s gets rave reviews… It’s a great place all-around!!! My friend Maria spoke very highly of Verde’s. First of all, the restaurant gives a great vibe complete with AMAZING Mexican art work!!; it’s huge and there is a dining area and a bar area that is very spacious. We chose to sit in the bar area and the gentleman waiting on us, Tommy, was just great! My bf and I got there around 6:30 and Happy Hour was still going on! Lucky us! So it was $ 3 off apps and $ 5 off cocktails. I ordered the very popular Cucumber Agua Fresca, which was very good. I was pleased to hear that they use agave sugar. I’m not a huge fan of tequila but was pretty impressed that they have hundreds of tequilas. We shared 3 apps — queso verde(very good), cactus quesadilla(my fave!) and fish tacos. We left full and happy(I seriously loved that drink) and even stopped by to take a photo by the amazing painting near the door… the manager said it came from Pablo Escobar’s house! Excellent food, service, atmosphere and love that the Happy Hour is daily as well. Great job, Verde’s! I’ll be back!

Random stop on the way through town. This isn’t your typical Tex-Mex or even interior Mex place so if that’s what you’re looking for you’ll have to adjust expectations. This is more like steakhouse with a south of the border flair. Prices are also accordingly quite a bit higher than a typical Mexican place so keep that in mind. The big winner is the chipotle pork chop that my husband ordered. I was wishing I’d ordered that too, I had one bite and it was delicious. My only concern was the interior near the bone was looking a little pinker than I like to see pork. But the marinade and the char on the meat was perfection. I had ordered the pork pastor, which was like a tenderloin steak with a large pineapple slice, served with a spiced cream sauce, broccoli /pico de gallo mix, and«Mexican dirty rice». I loved the rice and liked the broccoli a lot. The pork was not bad but nowhere near as good as the pork chop. I’d probably skip this next time. We were there during happy hour and all appetizers were $ 3 off the regular price. For the queso, this meant half-price queso so we gave it a try. It was pretty good, definitely better than average. It wasn’t as spicy as I generally prefer but was still worth ordering especially at happy hour. When I heard the description of desserts I found myself wishing I’d skipped dinner and gone straight to dessert… but alas I was too stuffed having eaten way too many chips & queso and all of my entrée. So portions are generous, which is good given that it’s not cheap. Service was very good and very personable. All in all, I think Verde’s is a great date night restaurant. It’s a bit of a splurge for a regular evening and a bit too pricey to want to bring the kids, but not as expensive as a typical fine dining establishment.

We had Queso Verde as an appetizer. It was different and delicious. Nice and spicy! For dinner shared a plate of Pasta Del Mar which had mussels, shrimp, and crab meat over linguini. It was amazing. Definitely not a typical bland dinner restaurant. Highly recommend this place. Was not noisy on a Tuesday night. We will be back!

Saw all the good reviews and pictures on Unilocal so my boyfriend and I had to try this place. It didn’t disappoint, the drinks are delicious as well as the food. We had the house margarita and the cucumber agua fresca. For our entrée we had the chipotle pork chop and the green enchiladas. I ate everything and I usually don’t. The service and atmosphere is nice. Definitely recommend and will be returning soon!

Verde is delicious and has an amazing selection of food with unique ingredients. The food is always fantastic, service is pretty good(can sometimes be a little slow) and their happy hour is amazing. My only complaint(and the reason for 4 of 5 stars) is in regards to their kids menu. The food is fantastic for kids and they have a great selection but the prices are higher than most any other Mexican restaurant in town. I don’t mind paying for my kids to have good food but when my 3 year olds dinner costs almost as much as mine(and I know they will eat about 10 bites) it makes it a harder selection. Hi Edward — we were there this Sunday(November 8, 2015)

Oh Verde’s… you came so highly recommended. What the heck was going on here tonight? My husband and I came here tonight and had probably one of the most interesting, odd, and unfortunate experiences I have had in a restaurant in recent memory. We came in, and were seated immediately by the hostess in the very first booth in the bar area, behind the hostess station. We did have a great view of the bar area, including the five TV’s — some playing football, others playing baseball and still others playing a story about a tequila farm. The music was a bit loud — pop songs, which for a Mexican Parrilla, was surprising. It didn’t really set any type of mood — and later it was changed to a baseball game. So, after we were seated, we waited for a while, too long. Our waiter came up — clearly hyped up and sweaty, apologizing then complaining to us that someone had taken a book and he had been scrambling to find it and he was going to have to pay their entire tab. He was a nervous ball of energy — you know how someone comes up to you and you can just feel this woosh of energy — it wasn’t a great vibe. Anyways, he asked if we had been there before, and then apologized for complaining to us since it was our first time(!!!). He spend a good deal of time explaining the menu and the tequila bar, for which he calmed down a bit and things were a little more comfortable. From that point on though, for us, everything was great, and everything was fine — this was our answer to everything. We didn’t want any drama. If this is what I can see happening in the front end of your restaurant, it super concerns me. What is going on where I can’t see? The entire staff was OFF. The bartender lady was dropping things, and seemed like she didn’t want to be there as well, and we could hear weird conversations at the hostess stand which included our waiter and whomever else. Like I said, it was weird. Really reminded me of Anthony Bourdain’s Kitchen Confidential. and I cringed. So, we ordered the Agua Fresca Cucumber, the Mojito and some queso. The drinks were decent. The queso was late — it initially never came. Our waiter apologized and said that he had relied on someone else to run it out and they never did. So, it came with our dinner and we ended up taking it home. We did sample it, and it was decent queso, with ample chunks of tomatoes and what looked like ancho chiles on top. We got happy hour pricing on these items, which was nice. For our entrees, my husband had the Chipotle Pork Chop, and I had the Pollo Palomino. Chipotle Pork Chop: We weren’t impressed by this. The chop was overcooked except for in between the chops, where it was severely under cooked. The chipotle honey glaze was weird at best. It didn’t compliment the meat at all and had a weird aftertaste. The sides were the street corn and mashed potatoes. My husband said the mashed potatoes were good, and while the corn was decent, Roaring Fork is hands down much better. I had them with my meal as well, and I agree, they lack that smoky and grilled flavor. Pollo Palomino: I actually liked my entrée. It was swimming in the cream sauce, contrary to the picture on their website, but the sauce was good. The cheese was melted on top, as well as a thinned piece of poblano — there was good flavor in this dish. The chicken was moist, and I also liked the cilantro lime rice — the lime really stood out nicely. This was a really mixed experience tonight. I’m not sure if the things going on were lack of management issues, or if something else was going on. Our waiter seemed like a nice guy who was having a bad day, but I’m a person that is usually willing to give the benefit of the doubt. My husband had a hard time believing any of the waiter’s excuses. The pricing and the obvious investment put into this place did not match the atmosphere or our experience here tonight, and the food was not stellar. I can’t say that we’ll be back.

Verde’s came highly recommended from a friend of mine, so when asked where I wanted to eat lunch up north, I was ready with this option. Let me start with the atmosphere. I love the look of this place, the warm wood tones, stained concrete floors, large bar area, flower boxes on the patio. Love it. We sat in the bar area, so our waitress was also our bartender. I ordered the rose sangria and my friend, the strawberry lime Ricky. Both were good. The sangria was delicious and loaded with tasty cantaloupe, honeydew, blueberries, etc. it went down a little too easy and I definitely could have sipped three or four! For lunch, I ordered the pollo palomino, which is served with cilantro lime rice and green beans. Our server also let us know that all entrees also included a salad(several options) or the chicken tortilla soup. I ordered the soup and my friend, a salad. The soup and salad were brought out promptly. The salad looked fresh and brightly colored. My friend enjoyed it. My soup was a disappointment. It was a nice enough presentation, covered in little matchstick-like crispy tortilla strips, but the soup tasted like water and McCormick chili powder. It had corn, chicken and avocado, but all I could taste was chili powder and water. I literally had one spoonful. My chicken dish had flavor going for it, but good lord, it almost looked like a quail breast instead of a chicken breast. I am convinced it was about 2.5 ounces of meat. It was heavily charred with peppers, avocado and cheese over top. The rice was a letdown, tasting like minute rice with a squirt of lime juice and tossed with cilantro. The green beans were really good, well seasoned, crisp and tasty. My friend ordered the pork belly quesadillas with mole dipping sauce. They were delicious. I’m not a huge fan of pork belly, except when it is bacon, but this was not overly fatty pork belly and it was not bland, but well seasoned and pull apart tender. I would go back for that. All in all, I was disappointed, but I wouldn’t rule out another visit. I just might use it more as a watering hole.

Last nights dinner experience was one of the best experiences eating out I’ve had in quite some time. Steven and Tony took fabulous care of us. Leading us to great tequilas to taste, making us great drinks, recommending items on the food menu and best of all giving us great company and service. The mussels were made with a beer name I can’t remember, twisted X? but they were very tasty and not broken and the bread tips to dip were nice and crispy. The jalapeño boats-OMG yum. They were made with goat cheese and chorizo. It’s very difficult to cook chorizo right, but they nailed it. Crispy on the outside, soft to bite. And not soggy. The jalapeños were fresh. The calabaza cakes, this was very unique and I love seeing when a chef gets creative and witty. The squash was made to spaghetti, rolled into cakes and fried with chicken on top. The sauce that came with it was made with a green tomatillo I believe and the ensemble was something out of a magazine. I wanted more but my husband wanted to try other things. So we did, we got the carne verde ordered rare plus. They nailed it again. Perfect. The meat was so tender and tasty and the verde sauced they used was perfect. Just. Ugh so good. The green beans were almost al dente which I like and the rice was cooked well. Followed that with a massive chunk of chocolate tres leches. I had to make them take it away because oh My gosh too much goodness and I gotta watch myself. We’ll be back. Awesome place. Awesome staff. Great parking. Cool décor. Lots of tequila options.

My friends and I decided to come here for hh. Only the appetizers were on the hh. The service was good, but the food just wasn’t that great. We had 1) hamachi ceviche: fish did not taste fresh, instead it tasted fishy and the fish was a bit warm for a ceviche. Took one bite and didn’t bother eating any more. 2) calabaza cakes: very interesting. Basically tasted like zucchini noodles with sauce on top. Very good if you’re on a diet! 3) bacon wrapped quail breast: the best thing on the menu! Quail was cooked to perfection and the taste was on point! 4) borracho mussels: tasted disgusting. Blah! Waste of good mussels. Probably wouldn’t go back for the food, but I gotta say, their drinks are delicious! The bartender did a great job with our drinks!

Going to keep this brief: Eat here. If you have more time, here’s the full deal… One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Pros –Blueberry Bread Pudding: Let me start where I ended last night. I’ve eaten probably close to 100 bread puddings in my life. The anejo cream sauce, french bread, and blueberries really come together to deliver something unique and delicious that stands as a memorable rendition of my beloved. –Ancho Orange Duck Breast: A large portion of succulent duck. Sauce so good I licked my plate. –Chicken with poblano cream(forget the official name): - Mitchell was the best server. Made outstanding recommendations. Knowledgeable about the food and restaurant’s story. Passionate about the food. –Large dining space with lots of mixed-use rooms. Great looking place for corporate events and the happy hour seating looked very comfortable. Sadly, I was just here for dinner and dessert. –Calabaza cakes: Who knew spaghetti squash could be so good? Fresh cream and stewed chicken come together to make magic. –For high-quality, upscale Mexican, the prices were very reasonable. Cons –The sides are just good. The Mexican Dirty Rice is solid. The greens beans are flavorful. Mexican sides rarely wow me and while I enjoyed these more than most, I wasn’t wowed. –I can’t eat here every day. –This place is a little hard to see from the highway, so people might miss it. It’d be a shame if they did.
