We decided to try someplace we had not been before; we will not be returning. We had a one of the poorer dining experiences in quite some time. Neither the service or food was good; 15 –20 minutes after seating and we still were still waiting for someone to come around for water/drink orders. Remainder of service experience was no better. Top shelf Margarita had ‘metallic alcohol’ taste, with little flavor otherwise. Green salsa was extremely salty. Shrimp(crab) enchiladas were doughy and had little flavor or seafood. Black beans were good. Though, Guadalajara Fajitas were not as described(no mushrooms, corn…), with shrimp(few), chicken(dry, lacking flavor), and beef(dry, salty) all significantly overcooked.

This place is below bad. We waited over an hour to get a menu. The margaritas had a strange after taste. The staff is slow. It was just bad. We asked for the Manager Alfredo who we talked to in a prior over the phone about gluten free option and told us to ask for him. We asked for him and he never came out.

I came to Round Rock for a week long training and discover this gem for margaritas and ceviche… best mexican ceviche I have ever had and a must try! And their Cadillac margaritas are second to none!

I went here because Verdes was packed and my wife and i waited so long for someone to even acknowledge that we were there and when they did they told us they would have to clear off tables but there were empty tables. So again we waited and no one came. We just decided to leave. Terrible service.

We noticed all the recent good reviews and decided we needed to try them, glad we did. The service and food were very good. My wife had and enjoyed the ground beef enchiladas, of course I helped her, they weren’t the best we’ve ever had…3 stars though. I had and thoroughly enjoyed the Guadalajara Fajitas with steak, chicken and shrimpies with grilled onions and bell pepper, great flavor and tenderness, my wife tried a bite & loved them too… next time we visit we’ll be sharing this, or maybe the chile relleno. They bring your tea or water or soda out in a mini pitcher, great idea… I hate to wait for refills, you don’t need to wait here unless you’re a camel. The chips were pretty good and the two salsas they bring out are good. Watch out for the green sauce… got some serious bite. My wife asked for coffee and the waiter told her they would make a pot, she didn’t want to put them out and declined. next thing we knew, a fresh cup of coffee showed up, promptly refilled when needed and the kicker was they didn’t even charge us for it, me likey!!! We’ll definitely be back for more great service & yummy food.

The food was very good. i ordered the Guadalajara Fajitas and an enormous XX on draft. Both reasonably priced. I was out the door for $ 20. As I usually like to do, I sat at the bar to eat. I am not sure if this happens a lot at Nopa’s since it seemed like the bartender wasn’t quite sure what to do. But, that said, he was polite, energetic, respectful, helpful, and friendly, so just because he was a little«green» at serving from the bar does not make him a bad bartender. He figured it out and made for a very enjoyable late lunch. The Guadalajara fajitas consists of all three: chicken, steak, and shrimp along with peppers and onions. Hot, tasty, masterfully spiced, and the perfect tenderness to everything. The sides were refried beans, sour cream, rice, and pico dg. Served with warm corn tortillas and two sauces, red and green(both good). All in all I was very pleased with«little Nopas» and I will go back the next time my car is being serviced and I feel like walking a bit. They do have wifi but, alas, the bartender forgot to give me the password after going in back to find out what it was. i didn’t ask again, as it wasn’t important, and to be perfectly honest I wanted to see if he would remember. I suggest going here as the food is very good, the service is with a smile, and I believe I saw a sign for happy hour beers for $ 2 — $ 3 between 2 and 6:00PM or something along those lines.

Service was great. Everyone had a smile. The food is the star, however. The best chile rellenos ever, and I have tried them from New York to Las Vegas and many cities in between. Even the ubiquitous rice and beans were good.

Excellent service, great food, and good salsa. Blows Chuys and La Margarita out of the water. FYI, Family owned and operated.

Sorry, but in Central Texas you have to do better tex mex. I’m pretty sure we were there when they were short staffed because our waitress made the margarita from a blender… it wasn’t good. Food was way below average, and chips and salsa were just bland. I’m not going back. Good luck

It was actually pretty good! We were headed to our usual Chinese restaurant and decided to give it a try. We came during lunch and it was not very busy. They might have had only one cook because the food did seem to take a while to come out. As mentioned previously the green salsa is on point and our server was very nice.

I really like the food and the staff here. They have All-you-can-eat Enchiladas for $ 9.99! I love the flavor profiles. Not your typical standard Mexican food. The price is right and if you happen to catch them on a night they are serving their chicken tortilla soup, grab it! My wife and I love it. We usually end up getting a lot of the same items. As an appetizer we always get their Sizzling Queso(Queso Flameado) with Chorizo. HUGE chunks of Chorizo! They have a nice happy hour menu. Drink prices are nice. Haven’t had a drink I didn’t like. Love their sauces and both their shredded chicken and shredded beef have great flavor. We keep coming back and will continue to do so!

My husband and I love this place. It’s a little hidden gem in round rock. Small and cozy, service is great and food is delicious. I usually get the fish tacos and hubby gets flautas or migas. I prefer this place over Morelia’s or Tortuga Flats. Prices here are reasonable and there is a large selection of plates on the menu. Restaurant is clean and décor is pleasant. If you are nearby I would definitely come in and try it out.

Chile rellenos are the standard by which I judge a place and this place passes! I love that black beans are on the menu and that the chips are thin and crispy. It’s a family business which translates to receiving really good service. My waiter was super helpful and very nice. Ooooh and the jalapeño tomatillo salsa/dip… That’s my happy spot! So spicy and delicious! –1 star because I think the regular red salsa could use some tweaking. Can’t wait to go back!

Great service, huge margaritas. Let’s face it: they have everything I want on a Friday night. The salsas have just the right amount of kick — the green more so than the red. No complaints on the chips. The patio is cute but apparently not very popular. That was totally okay with me. They have fans and it’s shaded from the sun, so I was a happy girl. Since it was just us on the patio you’d naturally be concerned about service, right? It was top notch. Our waitress was sweet and engaging, everything was prompt and she had great recommendations. The top shelf margarita is a 20 oz masterpiece. Totally deserved after a long week. Can’t wait to try the martini. We tried the queso, the crab chili relleno(I wanted seafood but not fish tacos — although those are supposed to be good, too.) My friend got the adobados plate.(I think? It’s been two days and I can’t be sure.) Regardless, we were both happy. I loved their salsa fresca, which I normally just eat around at most joints. We’ll be back to explore more of the menu, enjoy the great service, and down some more margaritas soon.

Today my lovely daughter took me out for my favorite kind of food, FREE. She really wanted me to try this new Tex-mex restaurant she had found. Tuff sell, cuz when it comes to tex-mex my loyalties run deep. But, as I said before, it was free people! The first thing I judge any tex-mex place by is the chips and salsa. Ours arrived quickly and came with a standard red salsa and a green tomatillo salsa. The red salsa had virtually no heat and tasted way too sweet like there was tomato sauce added to the salsa. The tomatillo salsa had nice heat, but the tomatillos tasted raw and a little bitter. We were not off to a good start. I saw a ceviche tostada on the menu so I had to try it.(Ok, culinary student food snob moment) The knife cuts were horrible. Onions were all different sizes, The fish was just plain macerated. Some pieces were an inch long and looked like they had been thru a meat grinder. The was virtually no jalapeños in it and it was missing salt, had too much lime juice, and the cilantro looked like it had been sitting in the liquid for a looooong time. Big miss there. One of the other things I judge tex-mex on is the old fashioned crispy beef taco. It came in a puddle of some kind of clear liquid. You might think grease but it had grease slicks on top of it so it was water based. I can only assume they hold their taco meat in some kind of liquid. It was bland and the taste reminded me more of barbacoa that the wonderful cumin-y salty meat I expect. The whole thing was quite tasteless and offputting. My main course was a basic shredded beef burrito. It was just ok and the tortilla was kinda soggy like they put the sauce in it and popped it in a microwave. On the plus side, my daughter ordered chicken enchiladas in a corn tortilla and they were delicious. Dangit, out-ordered again. The service was above average and the atmosphere was modern tex-mex and pleasant. They serve drinks in small pitchers which I love because I drink a ton of water when eating out. Overall it was disappointing and I prob won’t be back. I will stay loyal and stick with my special hole in the wall place. I will save that for another review. Stay tuned.

Awful. Came here based on Unilocal reviews. OMG, please trust me. This place is not good. The service was fine but the food was beyond terrible. We had the crab enchiladas, which were $ 16.99. They were horrible. They tasted strong and funky. Not sweet like real crab is supposed to be. More like old«sat out for too long» crab. They were super tiny, which would have been disappointing but they were so bad we didn’t care. You think those were bad, I had the Carne Asada. It was absolutely inedible. Tougher than shoe leather, gristly, cheap meat without any flavor. It was just bad. I leaned over and quietly told our server that I didn’t like it and she took it away. My Carne Asada came with tortillas so when she took my food away I thought I would eat the tortillas and they were crispy, dry, and nasty. I didn’t even taste them. Just by touched them and completely lost what was left of my appetite. Did I mention this was by birthday dinner? My husband felt awful for suggesting it and commented that he couldn’t remember a worse meal. When we left we swung through the Taco Cabana drive thru and I got a taco. That was my dinner. I am in disbelief at how utterly bad the food was. No manager even came by to apologize or ask if we needed anything. We will definitely NOT be back.
