All I can say is do not go here if you like to drink espresso. They are so clueless about what espresso should taste like, it is laughable. Completely watery awful not drinkable and I’m not going back. Sorry I don’t have many nice things to say about this place dark, dusty and dreary.

Five stars for the owner’s grace in 80% of his client base being high schoolers from across the street. Beverages are tasty, especially the Green Tea latte. They have open mic nights twice a week which seem off the chain. He even offers music lessons for people interested in learning to play «Wonderwall» for future dorm room parties. Their crossanwich is effing delicious despite just being a panini pressed mash of assorted items. The owner, Trian, is «tryin» very earnestly and is a great conversationalist. He also seems very patient. Lots of Grateful Dead and Pink Floyd anthems echo through this charming coffee house, though occasionally he plays the pop song du jour or random classical music. Give this place a whirl next time you’re in the area!

You won’t find a more comfortable place to whittle away an hour or so. The owner/​operator is a really nice guy, the place has a very welcoming vibe and deftly avoids the snobby local coffee shop experience that portland hipsters love so much. Plus, there is an amazing open mic every friday that is the most supportive I’ve been to since moving here.

Very cool little coffee shop. Came here on a quiet Thursday morning and it was surprisingly cozy given the bustling location on Powell. Standard coffee shop offerings — good drinks and snacks, cozy seating, plenty of newspapers. There is also a small stage, and I understand they hold shows in the evenings. Definitely worth a repeat visit!

This is the place to be when you’re with your buds on a Friday night and you need a place to chill for a couple hours with no pressure or stress from the world. They have live music, beers, and a great atmosphere, check it out when your in the neighborhood

I just recently checked this place out for the first time as I was in need of a new neighborhood coffee shop to study. Prices are great, the coffee is good, and although the menu for food is small it seemed like high quality sandwhiches at low prices that are made in house. There is a real shortage of coffee shops in this area so it’s good to find a new spot. This is a famliy run buisness and the staff are super sweet and friendly. I highly reccomend supporting this place with your buisness and tell all your friends about it so they will get to stay open! Also it would be a great place to have a small show so if you interested in doing something like that you should talk to the staff.

New to the ‘hood, I biked past this place the other day and decided to wander back up this morning and check it out. A great little shop with a mellow vibe, it also is impressively quiet inside in spite of being on Powell.
I was warmly welcomed when I entered by an engaging and kind soul, who deftly handled my order (as well as my idle banter). I ordered an Americano, my usual, and settled in. The coffee was robust and tasty, as was the doughnut. I resisted the breakfast croissant. For now. Next time, resistance may be futile.
