They have great coffee and espresso but to say the service is abysmal would be an understatement. I come here fairly often and I really don’t expect much, I honestly hate small talk but every single time I borderline feel like apologizing for coming into the place. You will never be greeted, your smiles will only be met with frowns and dead eyes(I swear they take a vow of frowns to work here), they often will not say anything at all when your drink is done a lifetime after you order it. I mean I get it, it’s coffee we all love it but these guys are not mind blowing for how disdainfully soup nazi-esque they treat customers. For instance many of their young staff will hardly look up from their phones to help you but if you’re in line and your phone happens to ring in your pocket they can’t wait to bust you for the no cell phone policy. Im talking about a short ring being silenced… not even answered. They skip situational common sense because they really seem to hate their own customers, I’ve sadly witnessed it for a couple of years. The entire staff have the same trait of snubbing, being rude, giving the stink eye, etc. with the goal being that you walk away saying to yourself«man they are just so hip and aloof». In short they are all way too cool to be friendly or at all efficient.

I am torn — the espresso and pastries are absolutely amazing!!! The customer service is lacking… Definitely not a place to go if you like your barista cheerful. But fabulous cappuccinos and pasties and bagels, if you don’t mind annoying the person behind the counter by ordering them.

Coffee here is okay. Drinkable, but too simple. The roast is passable, but forgettable at best. I haven’t had espresso here(I am lactose intolerant so I don’t waste my milk on lattes), and I think that’s earned me some snobbery, but more on that later. The décor is fine, if plain. They have reliable internet, and it’s a decent place to settle and work for a few hours. The problem I have with this place is the service. I saw some comments on here from the business that they strive for amazing customer service, but my experience with the commenter has been pushy and snobby. I tried the nitro cold brew this summer, and it was fine but not amazing, so I opted for the less expensive regular cold brew, which tasted okay(better than the nitro). I also will order a plain drip coffee, and after that the baristas basically ignore me. I have been here several times and I don’t ordinarily leave feedback unless it’s consistently bad(I know people have off days, and that’s okay). I am afraid this is typical of small time coffee shops who do their own roasts in Portland, even when they’re not good. If you want great coffee with better service, try Coava or Barista.

Location and coffee are good. But we refer to it as ‘The No Smile Coffee Shop’. The employees never smile. At least, when ever we’ve been there. We opt for the Flying Cat where we are always enthusiastically greeted.

Very convenient location and the product was pretty decent. I had a drip coffee and almond croissant and my buddy had a cappuccino and bagel. My coffee was tasty and the croissant was fair enough. From what I heard the cap was very good. We got a very mixed vibe from the place that was not terrible but a little off-putting. One barista seemed very supercilious and unfriendly, barely even spoke or made eye contact. The other was extremely friendly and enthusiastic – so enthusiastic that she was basically shouting to her coworkers from across the room the whole time. Inside voices, please! I think she knew it, too. Still, at least she seemed to be enjoying the job, which is nice. But it made it hard to have a conversation. Seating and layout are ample but a bit cramped. I won’t be hurrying back but won’t avoid it either; good product and could just use a little more attention to service and ambience. In the area, Coffee Division and Little T are both much better.

Love the location right on the corner, this coffee shop is a great place to set up and get some work done. Lots of seating and windows for light. Recommend the iced coffee, it is smooth flavored and strong!

Stopped in yesterday while waiting for a friend to show up for waffles across the street(which are also awesome, btw). I am really surprised there were only a couple people in this cute little shop; I would be here every day if I lived in the area. I am SOHAPPY my friend was running a bit late and I was early(for a change). I had a basic vanilla latte and was floored by how delicious the coffee was! I didn’t even get two sips into it before I was dragging an employee around demanding recommendations on what I should buy for the french press arriving in my mail today. I got the Café Serrana, and will update my review once I try it. The employees were great and very helpful. I had to wait for a few moments to buy my coffee beans, as the girl behind the counter was distracted by thoroughly cleaning her station, so I didn’t want to interrupt her. She apologized for not noticing me standing there, regardless, and asked if I wanted my coffee beans ground in store or if I’d be taking them home to grind myself. It took me an hour on Trimet to get from St Johns down to this magical corner of waffles and coffee… SO worth it. Great coffee and service. I can’t wait for my current espresso roast to run out so I have an excuse to go back!

I walked into K&F coffeehouse for the first time today and was never greeted by any of the three employees. The cashier never smiled at me or showed me any kind of pleasantries. I studied the menu as she drank her coffee behind the counter and openly texted. She didn’t know the answer when I asked how much it was to add a flavored syrup to a latte, nor did she look up from her text to answer me. I felt extremely dissatisfied as a customer here; the coffee was expensive and mediocre; the customer service was terrible. I will not be returning.

Stopped in at this place to kill some time while waiting to meet a friend for breakfast across the street at Broder. For a Sunday morning, I though the place was rather empty but that is fine with me as I got a tiny table by the window and didn’t have to wait in line or wait for my drink. The place is clean, workers are friendly, wi-fi is free and the neighborhood is quiet and quaint. I ordered a small coconut latte and enjoyed the view out the window while I read a book and killed some time. The coffee was a little bitter in my opinion, but not to the point I wouldn’t order it again. It was a nice spot to pop in for a bit and I would go back if I was in the neighborhood.

I’m really picky about my coffee. I either love it or I hate it. I LOVED the coffee here. I ordered a large one but they still gave it to me in an adorable cup and saucer! They did a beautiful design on top and I was able to sit, relax and use their wi-fi. Its a busy place but I was so comfortable there, I wish it was closer to my house — I’d go all the time! Friendly service, exceptional coffee!

Just moved to the area and can’t get Comcast to my place for a week. I walked a few blocks down the street to this lovely café and fell in love. Great coffee, friendly owner, plug ins galore for laptops, delicious pastries and fast wifi. I’ll definitely be a regular.

The coffee is great here. I like that it’s never over crowded. It’s a good place to catch a cup of joe. They’re front door is just as amazing. The place is charming and the service is on point. What more is there? Support our local coffee shop.

Been around for a very long time. Came very early AM for a cuppa to warm the bones. Cozy living room, easy and homey, simple feel to the place. Has been a coffee name for a very long time — back in the day of Boyd’s! Bedrock for the Clinton district… coffee was decent. Unfortunately, bought small bag of beans and dont recall it being too memorable. Like place more than the roast.

Note: this is for the K & F coffee roasters near the railroad tracks. I had a great surprise today walking home from the grocery store today: I got a special tour of K & F coffee roasters. I was walked through the entire process from the raw beans to the packaging and shipping. Thanks Ken. Made my day!

Not my favorite in Portland, but they do make pretty decent coffee. The cappuccino I had was smooth and strong(which is how I like it!) They also have a very cozy space, perfect for hanging out, studying, people watching, etc. Also, the barista that served us was super friendly and helpful. Definitely would be back again!

Clinton Street Coffeehouse is a warm, neighborhood shop from K&F coffee roaster. Located on a corner with a small town feel, the tidy, modern shop has a set-up like Starbucks, with plenty of non-coffee drinks, snacks, pastries, sandwiches neatly displayed for sale by the counter; along with their coffee beans, there’s other merchandise liked branded cupware and greeting cards. Along with the plentiful breakfast and light lunch choices, they serve smoothies and ice cream, teas and of course, K&F coffees. Solid coffees. Their macchiato was good and smooth, if not especially memorable. A few tables in a cozy nook inside, along with bar seats looking out the windows. Better yet, enjoy the coffee at one of the tables outside the shop on Clinton Street.

When I need a coffee, I need a coffee… Waiting for a table up the street, and K&F Clinton Street Coffeehouse seems like a decent place just for a quickie. and my Unilocal app approved my findings too as the reviews are quite decent. Luckily I was not disappointed! Great Neighbourhood Coffee place. Service was friendly though a little slow. But I was on vacation and I was chilling outside in one of the tables by the sidewalk on a nice fall day. Cappuccino was decent with a great milk froth and quite smooth. I can sit here for awhile and watch life goes by. until my friends wake me up and said our table is ready!

This place was great! Quiet enough, plenty of seating, many options to sip and snack. And open past five o’clock. My kind of coffeehouse!
