Forum Cafe

My girlfriend and I are coffee shop people. It’s a great little walk to the shop for our dogs. We loved forum café when Oliver was the owner. The food was pretty damn good, and the staff was great. So when we found out the shop was getting sold we were more than a little bummed.
Than Marigold came along and we couldn’t be more pleased! This new crew has been nothing short of amazing to me! After about 8 months of coming here daily, I’ve got some great stories. A couple times I’ve forgot my wallet coming here before work. Without hesitation they get me. I bring my dogs, they’ll go out and say hi. When my dog was sick and I was struggling to give her a pill outside, they fixed me up an awesome little dog treat to help. The other morning I was out waiting for the bus with what I thought was no time to stop in. Kaitlin saw me and came outside to say hi. She asked why I wasn’t getting coffee and I told her I was rushed. What did she do? She ran inside and ran back out with a coffee for me with the fixing just the way I like it. If that’s not going above and beyond I’m not sure what is.
I think Sara, Elliot, Kaitlin, and Katie are great. Each of them are very personable and all bring their own flavor to the place. Marigold really is that neighborhood spot where you’ll usually find a few regulars chatting outside.
The interior is great, love the wooden style and high ceilings. The new wall art sucks (no offense). But it’s open to interpretation. Love that the staff is all into music, and they play some great tunes.
Overall I highly recommend whether you live in the neighborhood or are just passing through you check out this shop.

This place has changed a lot and for the better. It recently got bought by Marigold Coffee, a local coffee distributor operating out of this very neighborhood. The guy who used to run it was odd and didn’t seem all that passionate about the place. He and his friends were always chain smoking out front so the absence of that is quite nice. The furniture got moved around and now if feels much more «open» then it was when it was «open space».
The coffee is good! They do a coffee cherry tea which I personally love and haven’t ever had anywhere else. They play really good music and are generally very friendly. The pastries they have are much better as well. Really every change to this place has been an improvement and I’m really glad because I live 2 blocks away.

So this place recently changed owners and my friends and I are not too happy about it so far. The staff is extremely friendly and cute but I don’t think they know how to make coffee. I got a donut that was delicious but I used to go there for the coffee and hot chocolate which was awesome but is now terrible. They also got rid of the kid corner which just seems mean. They no longer play music anymore either. Unless something changes I won’t be going there in the future which sucks because it’s right by my house and bus stop.

I’ve been coming to this place regularly since my GF lives a block away, I previously was not impressed with anything about the place, but since it’s so close I decided to stop in today for what I thought would be some crap coffee, BUT! was pleasantly surprised to see that as of today Forum Café is under new ownership & WOW! big improvements have already been made. First off It just feels better in there, a light remodel has taken place virtually overnight, a better use of space with the furniture coupled with chill/​vibey/​interesting music. it’s also very clear that the employees are serious about their coffee and I was told that they also roast their own coffee. I ordered a doppio to test the smoothness of the shots & the skill of the barista behind the counter. The shot was smooth! very smooth! impressive! I ordered a pastry (great selection by the way) and was told it’s on the house since today was there first day open under new ownership. I felt compelled to write this review because of the drastic changes (for the better), excellent customer service, and of corse the free pastry lol. I GLADLY will become a regular here now. :)
