I’ve only been here for coffee/breakfast on weekends, but it’s cute. The staff is nice, and although they have forgotten something in the 2 times I’ve been here(one time the avo on my bkfast tacos, and the 2nd time i had to remind them i was waiting for my cappuccino), they always are super apologetic and make up for it. The coffee is a bit on the weaker side, but I could just be partial to serious Euro espressos, maybe. I have one complaint — which seems silly, but it is annoying enough that it makes me not want to stay and read the paper while enjoying my scone & latte… the barista BANGS the espresso machine filter holder SO loud every time he makes a coffee/espresso/cappuccino for a customer, that it makes you jump out of your skin. It reverberates through the whole place and at like 9am, it’s really jarring. It’s like a SNL skit. So much so, that I almost had to say something, but we decided instead to leave and not hang around. I would hang out here int he summer when you can sit outside and not be subjected to audial horrors. I’m just really surprised the staff hasn’t taken notice of this, but they’re probably used to it. Food & coffee is great, but without the right ambience, it can change someone’s whole experience.

This plays is a liiiiiiiittle too pretentious for me, I think. The Roman numeral prices? The«market value» veggie tacos? The sharing of one menu to create a «community environment»? I don’t know about the last one, I’m just assuming that’s what they did since they had a whole stack of menus available but only have our party of 4 one. And the picking-out-a-word-from-a-basket thing was a little too café gratitude for me. Also, when we went… every item seemed like it had a change to it. Our poor waiter was clearly struggling trying to remember all the changes there were to the menu while we joined him in this slow-motion 5 minute menu speech. I got the 90s Salad, which was a small plate of arugula, grapes, goat cheese, and beets. Definitely was an eyebrow raised for $ 13. Same with the tacos someone ordered for about that price as well. 3 mini tacos, no sides, plain corn tortilla, meat, and salsa? I don’t know, I like the way this place is decorated and the vibe, but it feels like it’s missing something. I think if they focused more on having some kick ass go to items that felt like they were worth the price and a little more relatability, I think they’d be a kick ass restaurant.

Went there tonight with my Beautiful Wife and we had such a Wonderful experience! Met Sean and the staff, all were very friendly and accommodating. We were there to have a quick bite before seeing a concert @ the Libbey Bowl in the park. Sean suggested a local beer on tap that was fantastic and it got much better from there. My wife and I ordered the Short Ribs, Swiss Chard & Red Onion Jam and the Dirty Fries to split. WOW!!! Fantastic flavors and the short ribs just fall apart, it was great. The Dirty Fries are Pulled Pork, Ranch, Sharp Cheddar, HOUSEPICKLES& Hot Sauce all on top of French Fries!!! I will come back here, all the way from Burbank, to eat here again! Great Food, Fantastic Friendly Staff and it is very reasonably priced. You have got to try this place.

Best cup of coffee(ever?!), it really was amazing! We had 3 orders of Bagels & Lox, they ran out of cream cheese, so they had to send someone to the store to get more. Instead of asking one of us if we might like to order something else, or if we minded waiting, they served all 3 orders with a very thin helping of cream cheese. If you’re a bagels and lox fan you know the cream cheese is the glue that holds it all together, so that was a little disappointing. Otherwise delicious! Decided to give them another try a few days ago, and was super excited to share the place with an out of town guest(who loves a good cup of coffee), But they were randomly closed for«staff training»… kinda ruined my lunch date plans! Bummer!

During a day trip to Ojai, we stopped by the Farmer’s Market, sampled a few things, and worked up quite an appettite. We spotted a cute little restaurant at Signal and Matilija that had open seats outdoors. After sitting down and perusing the menu, we learned that Nosa Vita was very new to the Ojai scene. Open for only a week, they were still figuring things out as evidenced by our waitress who had to go and check on a couple of things to answer our questions. The breakfast menu is simple. There are sandwiches, oatmeal, yogurt and granola, and a number of frittatas with a variety of ingredients from shrimp to veggies, prosciutto, and chorizo. They offer a nice selection of fresh, bottled, boxed, and blended drinks. We ordered veggie frittatas with bacon added. The frittata tasted dry, which may have resulted from the sprinkling of breadcrumbs on the outside. It also needed salt and pepper, much like the potatoes did. I did, however, enjoy the fresh mozzarella cheese on top and the portion size was pretty good. It would’ve been nice if they had an option to «build your own frittata» as none of the options really appealed to me and the rest of the menu was limited. I guess I wasn’t blown away by Noso Vita, but I thought that it was a nice place to enjoy a meal outside that was located close to the the action in town.
