Cute little coffee shop that sells handmade ceramic cups, knick knacks for the home, snacks, cards and coffee. I tried the iced lavender honey and iced lavender vanilla latte and was surprised at how delicious it was and wondered why other coffee shops don’t offered lavender. It’s a great combination, especially if you’re a fan of it. Service was great and the store pretty clean. Can’t wait to go back next time we’re in Ojai!

Reasonable cup of drip but boy, they are some grumpy and grouchy people. Using the bathroom means going through the store room. Never a smile to be had. Someone came in unhappy with her drink. They changed her drink and then bitched about her to one another once she had left. Be happy not to come back here.

This place is a bad local business. We walked by and almost got to the car after shopping when we decided to go back. We ordered two iced coffee’s and latte“s to go. I could not drink it, it was that bad. All our coffee’s were bad. I drink lots of coffee from many different places. This place is the worst of the worst. We got had. The lady who served us these drinks ain’t no lady. Not kidding how could she serve this. Keep walking by this one.

My favorite coffee shop in Ojai. I highly recommend the Guatemala Dark, my husband and I both dream about it now that we no longer live in town. Also, the owners are rad and both the coffee and the tea selections are expansive. 2 thumbs up!

The coffee is great. The lady I ordered my coffee from was great. Her co-worker, an older blonde-haired lady who answered«you can’t just mix it yourself?» when I asked for 2% milk… not so great(there was only whole milk and half/half out on the counter). When I explained that to her, she didn’t apologize, just merely stated«they haven’t brought out the skim milk yet?» Sorry– I fill my coffee with ¼ milk, so drinking that much half/half would be gross. I can’t believe how rude someone can be at 8am in the morning. Started off my day in a bad way. I’d like to return for the coffee… without getting attitude first thing in the morning.

Great little coffee shop! Had coffee with honey and cinnamon. Friendly service and they had some cute little knick knacks for sale.

I have been a resident in Ojai for ten years and this is by far my favorite coffee shop in town. When I have visitors, I bring them here. Their coffee is great and no matter who serves you, the place is great and is consistent. Love all of the cool things they carry in the shop also. Last minute gifts line the walls and the coffee is really tasty too. I also love how it is not on the main drag and keeps a sort of private feel about it.

Nice bright coffee and tea spot with plenty of room. They had four types of iced tea to choose from and had my favorite mango black tea. Service was friendly and they gave me a discount for having my own ceramic cup. Every kind of loose leaf tea and coffee jars line one wall and they have fun birthday cards for sale in another section. I like their outdoor tables facing the quieter side street rather than the main drag. Ojai provides clean restrooms at the other end of the little park a few steps from the coffee shop, so lack of a bathroom isn’t such a big deal.

I would equate this place to a coffee shop you’d see in a large business building. They have the essentials, but it’s not hip or fashionable. It’s a very practical coffee shop, with nice seating, but nothing spectacular.

Outdated interior with mediocre coffee & menu offerings. No bathroom — they sent to the gas station nearby(I’m not kidding!) Great location out of the crazy main street.

Service by owners could be better. Good coffee & drinks. I like the mellow atmosphere of this place & the fact that it attracts a lot of older people. My favorite coffee hangout in town.

Great, all-around streetside coffee shop. I stopped in here because the main drag was a real drag, being completely filled with people, cars, orange cones and a whole crapload of folding chairs on the street for yet another ubiquitous Ojai«festival». Lord, how these hippy-dippy baby-boomers love to celebrate some innocuous thing every other week! «It’s purple flower day — Oh joy!!!» Meh… Anyway, Java & Joe was nearly perfect! Nice cool, North-facing and well-shaded outdoor seating, very pet friendly like most of Ojai and a very clean, well-laid out store. The drink was delightfully perfect and the staff were extremely friendly. I’ll be back JJ — This place is the bomb! Well for Ojai, maybe a chartreuse bomb with a purple flower & peace sign painted on the side…

This is a cute little coffee shop behind the main arcade in Ojai. It is neat and clean and has a lot of coffee related things for sale. When I got a hot chocolate this morning, the young woman behind the counter was very friendly and greeted me with a smile. I was given a choice of milk for my hot chocolate and asked if I wanted whipped cream. The selection of pastries included cookies made at the shop, fresh looking muffins, coffee cake, strudel, and carrot zucchini bread. The hot chocolate was delicious, as was the carrot zucchini bread. The store was very quiet when I stopped in at 7am. I would highly recommend it for your morning pick-me-up!

Only place I’ll buy coffee in Ojai! Almost never a line, super fast staff and always friendly. It’s cute and I like that they sell things that are made in Ojai. It’s nice that they have inside and outside seating.

I stop by here every time I’m in town. Friendly service and really good coffee. They also have a lot of little gifts you can check out while you’re waiting for your coffee. They have a few tables where you can sit and enjoy your coffee.

I went here for years before moving away. While the owners teased us kids for hanging out all the time and wished we’d go somewhere else, we still came back for seconds(they know who we are). The drip coffee here is the best in town and I’ve always liked the staff. This is my go-to place when I’m visiting Ojai. Also, unless you’re here on a Sunday this isn’t the place for people watching, but more for peace and quiet which I like.

I have been to this Coffee Shop many times as I used to live nearby. The regular coffee is mediocre, if they have an organic choice its usually pretty good. The biggest problem I have with this shop is that the owners of the business really dont seem to care about their customers. Any time I deal with the owners I feel as though they could care less about my concerns or questions. The staff is fairly good, I think they would probably be better if the owners took lead and improved their customer service.

Cute & cozy shop offering individualized, non-conglomerate coffee klatch experience. Prices are friendly and so is the staff. Shoppe is clean.(If any establishment is worth calling a «shoppe» this place is it.) Tasty nibbles are sold to complement your cuppa Joe or tea. I can’t wait to try the chocolate covered chipotle almonds. That’ll have to be next time as I tried the coffee cake this time and it was quite nice.(My friend’s lemon muffin was«too sweet» for him however.) I’d definitely recommend this shoppe except have to knock off 1 star because they have no bathroom. We were told to go a block around the corner to the Chevron station. Since coffee and tea are diuretics, this is probably not a good biz decision on their part, but perhaps it’s outta their hands. Still, walking around the corner to the bathroom is def. not convenient.
