Amazing atmosphere, cold beer, beautiful bartenders. What else could you want for a Saturday night?

We were planning to go to this other lounge a block away from here but they were charging a cover so we decided to walk and see what else is around and happened to stumble on Adega Lounge. NOCOVER atleast not on the Saturday night we went. I LOVE the light up blue tiles, the drinks aren’t too pricey — typical lounge drink prices($ 6 corona, $ 12LIIT) and the music was great. The people there were also really friendly and everyone seemed to just want to dance and have a good time(minus the girl we accidentally spilled her drink by bumping into the table where her drink was, bought her another drink and she still was unhappy but hey can’t please em all am i right??) The reason why I give it a 4 and not 5 is bc it’s pretty small and everyone is on top of eachother which is fine by me, I don’t mind a crowd but i think it would be even better if it was a bit bigger. Also, 1 of the female bartenders got annoyed and walked away when we we’re having trouble deciding what to get to drink which was a tad rude but the other bartenders and staff members were really nice and overall we had a great time. I will def be back :)

Lounge review only!!! Good service if you speak Portuguese, if not, your doomed. You must also be a young attractive man to get a verbal response from the women behind the bar. Still, hot chicks in spandex pants serve the drinks and who doesn’t like a cute tush!?!

COUNTYOURCHANGE!!! Halfway through the night I realized the bartender was not giving me the proper amount of change. She took the liberty of taking a ten dollar tip each time I ordered a round, not cool. The best part of this place is the music. DJ Urb plays an awesome variety.

This lounge is very cute, small, and intimate. For New Years Eve, they had plenty of favors with hats, whistles and tons of balloons on the ceilings. They have a couch that spans from the beginning of the room to the end which wraps around the wall and fish tank. Bottle service was $ 99 for a bottle of Ciroc or Grey Goose plus 18% gratuity added to the bill. For $ 118 for 4 people to get drunk/tipsy is a great deal in my book($ 30 each). I have to say service was tentative and very good especially on a busy night like that. There isn’t much of a dance floor, but the tile area with interchangeable lights is pretty much your dance floor here. I had a great time here and would definitely come back in the future. Music was good, crowd was decent and prices were very fair!

I like this place because the music is good, the atmosphere is cool, & it is a genuinely nice spot. The crowd is also usually pretty good & the drinks won’t break your bank. I’ve been here 3 times including once to celebrate my birthday. For my birthday I got the VIP section & was very happy with the service. I had about 15 people there celebrating with me and everyone had an excellent time. The feel of this place also is pretty casual, meaning you don’t have to break out a ball gown to go have a good time, which I also love. If I feel like putting on my dancing shoes, this is def at the top of my list of places to go.

Second time to adega and I don’t usually come back if a place sucks. The wait staff this time around was much better than the last time and were helpful. The happy hour was crowded and fun but the tight space does make socializing tough. The food we ordered chicken sandwiches and were surprised how good they where. If your in iron bound stop by for cool spot with good food.

My friends and I headed to Adegas on a Friday night while barhopping in the Ironbound. This was my first time there after hearing about it for some time, so I was interested in giving it a try. The bar area was pretty packed and very narrow, making it difficult to get through and constantly being bumped into. It was definitely a mixed crowd age wise as well. Also, the lounge portion only has one unisex bathroom which was a little awkward, but eventually a manager allowed us into the restaurant to use their bathrooms. My friends and I did enjoy the music and attempting to dance in the tiny space we had. My friend ordered some food which looked pretty good. I wouldn’t mind going back to try the food on the restaurant side!

Why would anyone come here??? Good God this place is bad. Times like this I wish I didn’t have friends that live in Newark. The only reason why we came here is because we didn’t want to drink and drive. When we arrived, the bouncer at the door tried to seem like he was being selective at the door, but it seemed to me, his picks were based on his personal preference & discriminations. Anyway, we went in. This place is TINY, NARROW&CHEESY. The flashy lights & somewhat of crowd, made me feel like I was thrown back to 1994. The bartenders were really rude. God Forbid if you ask them what kind of beers they have or specialty drinks. I don’t know if it’s the language barrier, or blatant intolerance of customers in general, they look at you like you have 5 heads. We just gave up and ordered absolute & jack simple drinks. I drink absolute pretty consistently and this particular drink did not taste anything of what I’m used too. We all agreed the drinks tasted kind of sketchy. The best part is, the place wasn’t busy, and yet, the server literally PUSHEDUS out of the way more then once. No apologies, no smile, no customer service at all. I guess because we weren’t «Poppin Bottles» at her tables, we were just in her way. To add salt to injury, some drunkin slob girls started leaning on us. We asked them to please stop & stand in their own area. When we did, they got out of control angry and literally tried to pick a fight with us. We then tried to grab a bouncer and give him the heads up, he spoke with the disgusting females, then turned to US& Asked Us To Leave. We were beside ourselves… WHAT??? He said, and I Quote«They are regulars here. They normally are ok, and come every week. You’ll need to go.» So basically it’s ok if they mistreat other guests at your establishment because they are«regulars». Holy Cow, I have never experienced anything like it. What a disgrace to all bar/lounges. We left gladly and will Never Be Back Again. So if you like a place that has less than half way decent looking female staff & clientele that treats you like shit, than by all means, this place is for you. But if you’re a person with self dignity, do yourself a favor and stay away.

If I could give this place no stars I would coz they r RACISTS, went there on Friday invited by my Portuguese friends I get to the door wearing a cardigan, slacks and loafers n the guy at the door tells me I can’t come in coz I got at shirt under my cardigan so as I’m walking away 2 Portuguese guys come out one in a tank top n one in a t shirt so I walk back to the door n ask him how come they came from inside his words to me «well they’ve been coming here for years, nobody knows u»… I know racism is still alive n all but at least try to be subtle about it I was disgusted n come to find out the next day my friends that invited me were all wearing tshirts too smh

Don’t go here if you’re in the mood to dance, unless you go early. Once the place fills up there is very little room to walk let alone dance. You will probably get a drink or two spilled on you. Shoes may or may not get stepped on. Feelings may or may not get hurt. Bartenders lack etiquette and definitely have never heard of the phrase«bar magic» ever. It will become evident to you when they don’t make eye contact, refuse to make suggestions, and possibly overcharge you for drinks. This is Newark, not NYC or even Hoboken. Drink prices should remain moderate. They are not moderate here. $ 12 for a Glenfiddich. I’m accustomed to paying that price at a upscale restaurant in Bergen County. I pay $ 13 for a Glenfiddich at Houston’s, Joe’s American Bar & Grill, Capital Grille, and Legal Seafood. Shouldn’t happen in Newark…

I love adega it is a great local spot I go there a lot and the music is always good. The crowd changed from time to time. The only thing I hate is that it is sooooooooooooo SMALL so a lot of fights tend to break out. But if you looking for a place to party in Newark Adega is always a good time.

BEVERYCAREFULORDERINGDRINKSFROMTHEBARTENDERS! Especially when paying with a credit card! They use the fact that it is very loud and busy to take advantage of you! I ordered a double WELL rum and coke, and she brought me a drink for $ 19! She rang in one shot of Bacardi and one shot of Meyer’s, then she scampered off and ignored me for ten minutes while she helped other people. I just signed the credit card receipt because I didn’t feel like waiting anymore. Then about 30 minutes later, the DJ announces«$ 5PATRONAND $ 5JAGERBOMBS!» So I go to a different MALE bartender and order a Patron and Sprite and ask if he can bring me a water without ice too. Without even asking, he brings me a bottle of water for $ 4 and my drink and says $ 16! I said«The DJ just said Patron was $ 5.» and all he said was«No» and walked off on me! Again I had given him my credit card so he had already ran it. I am not from around there and I was at the club by myself(I had missed a connecting flight), so rather than cause trouble and a scene, I just signed the receipts and left $ 1 tips. But the service was very terrible even by nightclub standards! I recommend asking prices before you order. Bartenders hate that but you know what, I hate paying $ 20 for one fucking drink. $ 12 for another drink, when expecting to pay maybe $ 5 – 7. The club is alright, nice mix of electronic music and rap, hip hop. Pretty nice mix of people, majority Hispanic.

Although it is in the middle of Portuguese-Brazilian Ironbound, this club is about as generic Jersey as you can get, many stereotypical Jersey types can be observed here in their natural habit. The place is ti y, basically the dance floor is a floor lit hallway with a bar to the right with people lining it and some couches and a fishtank to the left, and people shaking booty on the 2 millimetee wide dance floor in between and admiring booty or biceps or whatever is admirable to the party in question from botg sides, which means you will obtain intimate contact with everyone here whether you want it or not as people head back and forth to the rest rooms or from/to the entrAnce. Positive feature of this arrangement is that everyone is close to the bar although navigating. short walk from penn station. since many of the local brazilian and portuguese restaurant bars turn in to dance venues and thus de facto clubs in evening, I would suggest those are potentially much more interesting environments for booty shaking or booty admiration in this locale, but to each his or her own.

Good times! Fun laid-back club walking distance to Penn Station. The dance floor is narrow, but is cute with lighted tiles. I was charged $ 6 for 2 grey goose and tonics, which is basically free, but as with most clubs the drinks were not strong at all. Nice mix of people, mostly on the young side but some 25+ also. Frequent shot specials were announced throughout the night and they also have hookas you can order. Now I can cross off hitting up da club in Newark(or anywhere in Jersey for that matter) off my bucket list.

Strong drinks and a fun atmosphere, with an always interesting mix of people(sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse). Only real downside, and it could be a clincher for you, is that the space is so narrow it might as well be an alleyway.

After having a rehearsal dinner in the main restaurant which was excellent(see my other review), our group headed over to the lounge to keep the party going. It’s kind of a hard place to describe — definitely going for the lounge vibe with the couches and I believe they offer bottle service. The floor was checkered and lit which I found a little interesting. The music was incredibly loud — definitely not my type of place. When I used to go out a lot, I never went to lounges/clubs so this place is definitely not my scene. There was nothing particularly bad about this place — but to be honest, nothing great either. Definitely was a younger crowd here. Drinks weren’t ridiculously overpriced — it was also pretty easy to get a drink. I will definitely come back to eat at the restaurant but will not return for the lounge.

Located in the portuguese section of Newark. I havent been in a while, nor would I again. But when I did attend with friends, the music was good, the drinks were okay, the décor is very 1970’s discoteca with the lighted floors and large fish tank. The crowd is a mixture of mostly italian, spanish, and a couple blacks. Downside is the place is so tiny-reminds me of a renovated alleyway. It gets so crowded, theres nowhere to get your groove on and you risk having a drink spilled on you. More male to female ratio.
