I only go to minado once or twice a year for celebrations. It runs about 33 bucks a person for –all you can eat– sushi which isn’t that bad if you’re someone who can eat the entire sea worth of sushi. The options are plentiful, tons of fresh sushi and sashimi to choose from, a buffet of sauces to compliment said dishes, another buffet of salad-esque options such as seaweed salad and kimchi, one strictly for desserts cakes and your regular fruits and lastly one full of cooker seafood, chicken teriyaki, grill items, soba noodles and a crêpe bar. I recommend either avoiding weekends or going right when they open up for dinner which i believe might be at 4 bc they can get slammed pretty fast!

Great all you can eat buffet in the area. They do have other food other than sushi and seafood if that is not your thing, but for the price, you may leave disappointed and not full if you do not like sushi and seafood. I have been here several times with my friends and everyone always enjoys it and has a good time.

Let me start by saying the prices are a little higher and in the past 3 years, I’ve seen them increase every 6 months or so. But… the options are great and the sushi selection is fresh and decent! So if you’re a fan of asian food/sushi and buffets=winner winner, sushi dinner!

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear sushi buffet? Gross? Food poisoning? Bad bathroom experience?(feel free not to elaborate) Well that’s what I thought when I was first told of Minado’s… and like me, you’d be absolutely WRONG! Let me explain… this isn’t a place where the sushi is made in a backroom and then brought out in massive trays to sit for hours. No, no! THISPLACE has an army of sushi chefs that begin making small amounts of each menu item and places them on a plate for you to take from. In simpler language, everything is fresh! Not a fan of Sushi? They got you covered with a full selection of other Asian cuisine. Fried seafood, lo mein and other selections are also available. The only thing I really didn’t like on the menu was the green tea icecream… not my thing… maybe you’ll like it? Who knows… different tastes. In any case, give this place a try, it’s different and delicious… and VERY popular, so get there early.

Been going here for a few years. Seems like the food quality has gone way down. Maybe it was just the day that i went but i didn’t want any seconds Sashimi and sushi were all bland and mushy(poor quality fish). For the price i rather just go to a regular Japanese restaurant and order freshly made sushi. The only thing that i enjoyed was the Jello at the end. Was looking forward to eating here again but was a very disappointing experience

This is the place we visit every time I’m up visiting family. I recently became a vegetarian so I was pleasantly surprised with the abundant selections of vegetarian dishes. My favorite~ the soft green tea ice cream!

Second time here but my first time for lunch. Dinner is definitely better more choices of seafood. First time I came here the sushi was really good but today it was really bad. I’d take a chance and come back again but if its not good next time it will be my last.

First, I want to say that if this rating was just for food, it would be four stars. My husband and twin 11 year olds(they have been 11 for a week) waited about 30 minutes for a table on a Saturday night — not too bad. The kids’ pricing is for kids ages 12 and under, and based on height: 5 feet and under pays ½ of adult price, 4 feet and under pays ¼ of adult price. Well, my brand new 11 year olds are 5’1″ — and guess what? The manager refused to give them kids pricing and wanted me to pay $ 33.95 each — basically my kids were going to eat a spring roll, a plate of rice and some ice cream. I argued with him that it was height discrimination — if my kids were short and 11 years old, they’d pay less. He eventually gave me the 5 feet and under price(which truthfully was still expensive for what my kids ate). The manager kept saying that was the corporate rule, that you had to be under 12AND under 5 feet — well, it’s a stupid flipping rule. And if you are going to have such a discriminatory rule, why not set pricing based on weight? There was a table of four very obese men(over 300 pounds each) and I’m quite sure they ate way more than my husband and I did for the same price since they were there before we sat down and they were still eating when we left. WARNINGTOPARENTSWITHTALLKIDSUNDER12WHODON’T EATMUCH: Don’t eat here unless you think paying $ 34 is OK. I do not. Reviewing the food: I thought it was quite good. I wish the sushi selections didn’t have as much sauce, but it was all excellent. I had some of the other Asian dishes which I thought were good as well. Everything is clean and the right temperature, and empty dishes were refilled quickly. There was always a line for the crab legs(I’m not a fan but people were very excited about them). I wish the desserts were better — the cheesecake was not edible. There were many little cakes that were pretty — I didn’t try them. Lots of fresh fruits. The ice cream was the best option. Overall — good food, and annoying rules.

I only like the sushi, sashimi, salads, oysters, fruits and desserts. Their amazing food! The stir fried food are not so interesting! Their tea is decent & their service is above average! Totally this place is still very good! I’m glad, I came back 2nite & it’s has been awhile since last time I was there!

Food: 3.0÷5.0 Service: 2.5÷5.0 Value: 2.5÷5.0 Décor: 3.0÷5.0 Overall: 3.0÷5.0 Minado is a half-decent and relatively high turnover Asian buffet spot. The food quality is not quite comparable to the better equivalent products in New York and lack higher quality seafood products on the Chinese food side, but still good for what and where it is. The sushi bar wasn’t keeping up with demand and several of items weren’t being replenished. Ice waters were kept pretty full. Pricing is okay for lunch but a bit high for dinner. All-in-all, worth an occasional trip in you’re stuck in the area.

I’ve been going to Minado Natick, MA for more than a decade, I love crab legs, it’s my main reason to go there, but in the last few months this supply of crab legs have been degraded to such a low quality level that is a shame, dirty looking, over cooked, salty, small, I’ve complained with 2 managers and both gave me a nonsense excuse, one said«we asked our vendor to give us a better selection(cheaper, lower quality)», the other one after denying they changed it, admitted it by saying the market price was a reason(a lie), to what I replied, that in the last 15 years the prices fluctuated many times and they never changed the quality, ultimately what they have done is try to save money while the buffet prices continue to increase(about $ 35 per person). In all these years I’ve been an avid promoter of this place, celebrating my and friends’ birthdays there, bringing and/or recommending it to everyone who would listen, but no more, this is highway robbery, quality does not match price, and what hurts the most is that managers don’t care, all waiters have told me that tons of customers are complaining, I also heard that this debacle started after a new kitchen manager took position, immediately after this practice started, this is bringing down their business… please go back to being great!

The food is Ok. The prices high. The service decent. Mediocrity comes at a price here at Minado. This is a bit of a disappointment because I love the Carle Place location. May repeat because it is the best I can find in the area but in no hurry. The salads and soups were good, both aesthetically and tasted OK. The us on noodles all stuck together. The hot food varied. The fish dishes were dry, the meat and chicken were good. The race looked and tasted like it gad been sitting out too long. The tempura was over battered vegetables and no shrimp in it. In the 90 minutes I was there I did not see it refilled once. The sushi was good but the fish pieces on the rice were far smaller than in the other location. The uni was so small a portion, i could only see it glasses on. There was a nice selection of rolls, nothing out of the ordinary. Dessert was excellent except for the fruit which was not ripe so lacked any flavor. Especially the ginger flan and green tea ice cream. Service was not attentive. Water glasses sat empty too long. Worst part… they stopped putting fresh food out an hour before closing. When I confronted them with their Web page stating a half hour, they told me they had run out of what I asked for. Finally after my persistence, they relinquished and got it for me. Overall passable but not nearly worth the money. Too many deficiencies for me to recommend.

I have been coming here years. My family really love this place and we often come here. I would say over 5 years, they have never really change their menu, everything stay the same and taste the same, getting boring to us. If this place is your first time, it’s great but 4th time, maybe too much. The oyster came out way too slow, and I could tell that they did it on purpose. If you like Minado, Takusan in Cambridge is a great replacement.

Seeing Star Wars in IMAX3D finally gave me a reason to hitch a ride all the way out to Natick to stuff my face at the best all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant in the land. I’m happy to say that Minado lives up to the hype. I have to admit I was a little sketched out by the idea of an AYCE buffet(as opposed to the unlimited ordering system I’ve encountered elsewhere), but the serving stations here are pristine and constantly replenished by a team of hard-working staff. What’s more, quality is not sacrificed for quality, as the sushi is lovingly prepared and the maki is practically filled to bursting with delicious, fresh ingredients. As much as I like spicy mayo, however, quite a few of the roles featured it so prominently that it became hard to tell them apart without the identification cards on the buffet. I didn’t go quite as crazy with the hot bar options, but the baked stuffed shrimp and yakitori grill were certainly standouts. Dessert… well, let’s just say you won’t be disappointed if you’re too full to indulge. Enjoy a small, palette-cleansing bowl of soft serve(vanilla or green tea), and you’ll be all set to travel to a galaxy far, far away.

Well, you’ll leave full. Not a huge fan of buffets because of the focus on quantity over quality, I found myself at Minado’s on NYE. The $ 31.95(weekday) /$ 33.95(weekend, holiday) price is a bit steep, especially when you consider the quality comparable to an average sushi spot. At that rate, I could get 2 special rolls and a few sashimi/nigiri pieces… more than enough to quiet the rumbles in my belly. We were seated after a 30 minute wait and our server was a no-show for 5 minutes. After he finally came around for drinks, we headed out for first plates. 10 minutes later, our drinks were no where to be found. 5⁄6 of our drinks arrived another 5 minutes later, but with 0 straws. But, let’s be real, we don’t come to a buffet for the service. — I don’t remember the rolls other than they were all mushy in texture. Shrimp tempura and spider rolls were all cold. Some combinations were just odd and I couldn’t even muster the strength courage to swallow. — The sashimi came in little chunks on sauce plates. — People stood in line for 15 minutes for oysters and the tray they took out had about 20 and was gone after 5 people. — The hot section was actually better than the sushi and had a decent selection. The chicken wings were delicious. — Adequate selection of desserts and pastries. Standouts include the lychee jelly shot and the green tea ice cream(my preference is for a mild green tea flavor). For a AYCE buffet, Minado ranks amongst the top. BUT, at $ 34 a head, you can get much better quality and equally as full at a normal sit down sushi restaurant. I’ll take fresh fish and quality dishes over selection any day.

I just keep coming back! Came on New Years day and there was no line at 8 pm! They have so many different options of sushi and other meats, seafood, and salads. If you come here for dinner there are king crab legs and oysters which always have a line as soon as they come out. Don’t forget the crepes at the end. Our waiter was super nice and made many jokes. Even if you don’t like seafood, there are so many options in their hot meal line I’m sure you’ll find something you’ll like! Will be coming back.

Minado is quite the experience, and certainly the buffet with the highest quality food I’ve ever eaten at. There were lots of relatively healthy salad options, as well as lots of different meats and seafood, as well as my favorite appetizer– crab rangoon. There was no shortage of sushi, though I’ve definitely had better. This was because the rice was a little soggy mainly. All in all, for a buffet it was quite good though. To end one’s dining experience, you can count on the desert bar with things like green tea soft serve ice cream. Also as a positive side note, Minado is by far the cleanest buffet I have seen, which is a definite positive.

$ 30.95 for weekday dinner buffet is a big bunch of money but there is quality to be had here at Minado. Lots of cooked foods, but also bunches and bunches of SEAFOOD. From the crab legs to the oysters and a long line of different sushi choices, Great variety of cooked and not cooked, but a reasonable selection of sashimi, too! it is very hard to not get your money’s worth here. Service is okay, but really, how much service do you really need at a buffet?
