This is my all time favorite burger spot. The turkey burger with bacon and egg and the fries are off the hook too. I can tell they use a really good bacon not some cheap strips. The burgers are seasoned perfectly too. I usually will throw in a couple tacos to my order… which are pretty damn good too! I moved out the area so don’t get to go weekly like I used to, but still try to go over there just for a taste! They give you a big heavy bag of food and top it off with an ENJOY!!! Parking is shady depending on what time of day, but that’s far from a deal breaker!

Ordered the king bacon burger and my girl got a regular hamburger and two orders of fries. Everything was excellent! The natural cut fries were crispy and delicious. The prices were great along with the customer service. She was very nice over the phone when we called in our order. I’d suggest calling it in before you go there to save time. She was a one woman show when we got there. We’ll be going back again!

I work at smart and final down the street from this place and didn’t know it was here. Until, today, I went and fell in love. The lady that works there goes to my job all the time and is very friendly. I got a normal cheeseburger and it was delicious the meat was super soft. I loved it. I will definitely go back! Oh and she only accepts cash.

YUM! Have had this burger twice and each time, I need a nap after getting done with it, its that satisfying! It is exactly what you’d expect from a joint that calls themselves The Stand. You order through the bullet-proof glass(bad-ass) and when it is ready, they give you your 10 pound bag o’ food and you ain’t goin’ away hungry. There is a bit of a wait because everything is cooked to order and is super fresh. While waiting, I have just walked in and out of the shops next door to peruse fedoras and other random ‘hood trinkets. The meat is well-seasoned and the combo of pickles, cheese, lettuce, mayo, onions(although, I get mine without) is delicious, but not the same as you’d get anywhere else. The Stand does something different and that different equals delicious. I have not tried the turkey taco yet, but by these reviews, I am sure that is super yum as well. Why stop at the McDonalds down the street when you could straight to the source at The Stand? DOIT!!!

I have been to this place a few times already and have always been pleasantly surprised with its consistency. The food is always fresh and usually prepared withing about fifteen minutes. You can always call ahead. The service is excellent, which is often a plague of hood spots. The cooks are always polite and courteous and have heard of the words please, thank you and enjoy and are not afraid to use them. The burger patties are homemade and nicely seasoned. There are a multitude of toppings ranging from eggs, to bacon to chili. Additionally, the tacos are as good if not better than the burgers. Definitely homemade Blaxican tacos. Unlike many burger stands, the Burger Stand does take ATM/DEBIT. But for a nominal fee of one dollar American. So if you happen to be on the Shaw give them a try. It’s definitely better than your average burger.

All I can say is DELICIOUS. The fries are fresh cut potatoes. Burgers are well seasoned. It will make you say«Yummy to the tummy». FYI… If you use your debit card they will charge a $ 1.00 fee.

I finally decided to try The Burger Stand. So happy I did! Ordered 2 King Turkey Tacos and a Turkey Burger with cheese. Everything was amazing. Really loved the tacos. Soft shell grilled flour tortilla, meat, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. Turkey burger was good too but I enjoyed the tacos best. Everything tasted very fresh and the burger patty was a homemade patty. Fries were OK. Fresh cut; average taste. Sodas are 12oz cans. I recommend you call your order in. Also, no parking on Crenshaw between 4p-7p. They say you can park in parking lot next door but its 2 lots so I have no idea which one. Also, if you shop at the Ralph’s down the block, you may get a coupon for The Burger Stand on the back of your receipt.

This place had been everything undet the sun. Made the choice to not call ahead… bad choice! Ordered a turkey burger combo with a king burger combo and chilli fries and 1 taco. It took forever for my order to be completed. Mind you there was no one there. The wait was about 25mins. When we got home the king burger was the size of a McDonald’s cheese burger. The french fries were this strange green color. The chilli fries looked gross! The best part were the beef taco. In a nut shell call ahead and stick to the tacos!

Burger #197: A Crenshaw Treat I’ve driven by this spot a number of times and recently fate was on my side that we needed food when we did. The neighborhood isn’t that ghetto at all and in daylight could be mistaken for a major street in the SFV. Since they were cash only and we were low on funds, I kept my order simple and light; king burger with bacon, egg, cheese, and chili. The girl got a cheese burger. About 15 minutes later a large and quite heavy bag was rotated through the bullet proof glass and we went back to my car to dine. The huge mass I pulled from the bag was as tasty as it was difficult to keep off my car’s interior. Of course the egg yolk was cooked through(I’m still waiting for a hood burger spot to do a runny yolk) but the bacon was on point, as was the chili. I wish I had asked for no veggies since they just get in the way. But as chunks of the loosely packed burger dropped off into a pile of lettuce, chili, and meat, I was left with a nice little meaty salad for dessert. The meat itself was seasoned okay and cooked well done, just like at all ghetto burger spots. While enjoyable and craving crushing, it was far from an amazing burger and only on par with any spot that does king burgers. In a pinch and low on cash, I would consider stopping by again.

Holy Smokes! Now that is a tasty burger. I have heard unconfirmed rumors that ‘Fat Burger’ may have started here or split off from this stand. Perhaps. The burgers are similar in design. This burger is leaps and bounds better than any Fat Burger I have had. Huge patties seasoned to perfection with the right balance of condiments. The parking lane out front becomes a traffic lane during rush hour so parking can be quite a chore here. There is a lack of seating, that is to say there is none at all. Regardless, this is a must taste burger.

If you ever find yourself crusin’ down the Shaw(Crenshaw Blvd for those who don’t know) and you have a craving for some cheap, good eats, I recommend stopping by The Burger Stand. I drive by here every day and never stopped. Mostly because there is no parking on Crenshaw till after 7pm, and partly because I didn’t think their burgers would be that good. That was, until I read this blog post on it. So now it’s a must try for my burger loving self. Low and behold, on their menu is the«king» burger. I plop down 7 bucks for my combo. Fries, a soda and a king burger with cheese. Unfortunately there isn’t a sitting area here so the only option is to eat in your car or take it home. I take mine home, but sample some of the fries while they are still pipping hot. The fries are of the limp sort. They taste slightly sweet and are salted with a seasoning salt. I prefer my fries crispy, but these are definitely good. I get home and unwrap my king burger. It’s a massive ½ lb, hand formed patty. Topped with mayo, mustard, lettuce, onions, pickles and a tomato. This burger made my top 10 instantly. Its perfectly seasoned with seasoning salt and pepper and tasted as fresh as could be. I started to reminisce about the mo’ better burger and now I hear rumors that it’s back. That’s my next stop on the burger train. Don’t be scared away by the lack of parking during certain hours. There is plenty of parking on the street south or north on side streets. Cash only!
