The Search for LA’s Best Breakfast Burrito: Episode 4 It’s a casual Monday and you’ve already had your breakfast burrito search yesterday. But wait, what’s this? A little birdie tells you they may have a new, stealthy, unknown contender for your breakfast burrito search. The interest is sparked. You are aware that you’re developing a mild breakfast burrito addiction. No one demanded that the breakfast burrito search be on Sundays, after all, so let’s have a peek. So there I was, at this little café in the AON building, «Just Down Stairs.» This tiny 1 man operation manages to serve Peet’s Coffee? But I shall not be distracted, I’ve come to take up my little birdie’s wordy. We all know that word of mouth is the best form of advertisement. Don’t expect chorrizo or ordinary tiny chopped bits of sausage here. There’s a true representation of breakfast burrito in it’s finest form via huge chunks of turkey breakfast sausage! No need to stop there, we all know it’s not breakfast without my favorite five letter word: bacon. And bacon cooked to the perfect crunch, nonetheless. Eggs, cheese, and a crispy tortilla tops this breakfast burrito as a 4 star in my search. I do, however, need to add a half star for it’s brilliantly devised chipotle aoli. Together, these items create the true hearty American style breakfast. Join me, just downstairs. This burrito meets all necessities and satisfies all pre-existing ideas of breakfast within a burrito.

A total gem. Small café with a bangin menu in the partially renovated bottom floor of the AON building(now has expanded communal space). Really delicious, great ingredients, freshly prepared and at great prices. FYI, this should be merged with the listing for Euro Café — it’s the same place. See the review for the breakfast burrito over there. It’s spot on. Sooo good.

Holy mother of god the breakfast burrito is freakin’ good. Talk about flying under the radar Did that Jack Black movie Shallow Hal teach you absolutely nothing?! It’s not about the looks, it’s about what’s underneath! This nonchalant café tucked up in the lobby of the AON building in DTLA is so stealth you would never think to stop by unless you were really in need of coffee or something to drink. Little do people know they have a full menu that you need to get from the counter and a kitchen tucked up in back fully capable of making your favorite breakfast bites. Triple B = Beastly Breakfast Burrito Word on the street was that there’s an awesome breakfast burrito on this menu that no one knows about. I made the long and grueling 60 second trek across the street from my work in search of this mythical creature they speak of. After walking past the café twice I realized that the little coffee stand looking place was it! Had to ask them for the menu but sure enough, there it was twinkling in my eye…“Breakfast Burrito — Bacon, hashbrown sausage, eggs, cheese, spicy aoli”. I had to order it. Sure enough, a couple minutes later a wizard appeared from the small kitchen in back with my hot and steaming burrito. With the tortilla exterior still a little crispy from the grill I pealed back the foil and took a bite. Mother of God… it was glorious. How can a place like this birth just a thing of beauty. Cheese oozing out of the side as I try to lick it before it drips onto my hand. Just right right amount of spice to give it a kick from the aoli and tie all the ingredients together… the crispy bacon, the crunchy hash browns, the juicy sausage, and the unforgettable egg. Needless to say, this is my new morning routine. Sorry non-DTLA’ers…only open M-F 6am-4pm. I’ll have one for you.

This place is great! Their sandwiches are fresh and their soups are fantastic. The service is also 10⁄10. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a high quality and affordable lunch.

I just called to place a phone order. Bagel and a latte, no big deal. I asked the gentleman on the phone if it could be ready in 5 – 8(I had already been on hold 5 minutes waiting to order). He said they were really busy. I told him I had a meeting and that I was calling to avoid waiting in line. Isn’t that why they had a phone ahead option? He then told me, «join the club, everyone has a meeting this morning.» Incredibly rude and not okay. I work in the building and I had been stopping here 2 – 3 times a week for breakfast, lunch, etc. Not anymore. Convenience doesn’t overcome my desire for decent(read not rude) customer service.

Two days ago I was in the mood for a grilled cheese. Since it is not on their menu I ordered an egg, ham and cheese breakfast sandwich on sourdough bread. The sandwich was $ 4.50 which I found reasonable. Today, I went and asked for a grilled cheese sandwich with ham. What I got was the same sandwich I ordered two days ago minus the egg. No butter on my grilled ham and cheese, just ham and cheese on toasted sourdough bread. So, why was today’s sandwich $ 8.74? I could have ordered the $ 4.50 breakfast sandwich and thrown out the egg and saved $ 4.24. That does not make sense to me. I usually go there for their meatball sandwich, coffee or pastries but after today I will not be returning. $ 8.74 for a ham and cheese on sourdough is way too much especially since it’s their $ 4.50 breakfast sandwich minus the egg. They saw me coming but they saw me coming for the last time.

I ordered a breakfast sandwich and I’m not sure what the«egg» in my sandwich is made out of… it has a plastic-y texture. I don’t think I’ll be stopping here again. I was better off going to McDonalds for breakfast.

They are located on the first floor of the AON Center building(same as Wells Fargo). They have Peet’s coffee, breakfast items, soup, sandwiches and wraps for lunch, and pastries and desserts. Decent food. They’re good for the quick bites, grab ‘n go items, and those times you eat lunch at your desk. I’m unsure if they validate parking but I would venture most of their customers are those that work in the building or very near. What I love: since they’re located in the foyer, there is a very nice sitting area to enjoy your lunch or cup of coffee. Very high ceiling and bright natural lights. You can order online. They also do catering and have delivery service.
