Jesus has been cutting my hair for several years, and he does an outstanding job! I’m always happy with the results, and I recommend him to all my friends.

Love going to Jesus. He’s an artist and a wonderful person. Really knows how to make you look and feel good.

I LOVE JESUS!!! My mother introduced me to him about 2 years ago. Honestly, I didn’t have any body specific before. It’s hard to find someone that really knows there stuff. He has a lovely personality and I have always left happy with my hair. He’s my go to guy! I won’t let anyone else touch my hair.
I’ve only done cuts. My mother on the other hand has had highlights and I must say he knows what colors to use so that it compliments your skin tone. My mother looks marvelous! I totally recommend Jesus!

I was vacationing in Malibu last summer with my boyfriend, who is a Malibu native and we had to make the journey to see Gary in Silver Lake. Gary has been the family hair stylist for years and I’ve only heard raves about him from my boyfriend, his mom and even his dad. So of course I had to check it out myself!
What an excellent experience. Gary welcomed us right in, unfortunately Jesus wasn’t in that day so I didn’t get to meet him, but I hear really wonderful things about him too. Gary took care of both my boyfriend, and I with ease. He gave the boyfriend an awesome cut, which you wouldn’t think is that hard for a guy, but until you see Gary’s work, you just don’t know a good men’s haircut!
Then it was my turn. I was there for a cut and color, and both were fabulous. He even colored my eyebrows, which I’ve never done before (awesome). He explained to me how he mixes colors and takes into account skin tone, eye color, etc. In addition, we had such a good conversation while he was working his magic, which I find is really difficult with 90 percent of hair stylists. He is so down to earth, friendly and puts you completely at ease. I have super thin and fine hair, which is really difficult to work with, but Gary completely understood the complexities and cut it so that it wouldn’t look lifeless and flat. The color came out amazing (a really amazing, natural looking red). The cut was awesome. I walked out of the salon for probably one of the first times in my life truly loving the cut I received.
I received compliments for weeks after and as my hair grew back, it kept its shape for so long. He not only cuts well, he thinks about how it will look as your hair grows out. In fact, Gary was so good that I was afraid to allow anyone else to touch my hair after. If I could afford to fly out to LA to see Gary, I totally would. That’s how great he is at his art.
Bottom line: if you’re looking for a great stylist, who not only knows how to work magic with hair and color, but is also just a really cool guy to talk to, Gary is the stylist for you hands down. All you have to say is, «Gary, make me look good.» He will not disappoint.

Gary Lacy has been my colorist and stylist for 21 years! He has cared for my hair when it was down to my waist and when it was very short. His cuts are excellent and the shape LASTs as it grows out, and my color which includes highlights has always been so natural no one suspects I am not the darker blonde I appear to be!
He is also great with men’s hair, too. My young adult sons prefer his haircuts to anything they get in NY or Boston where they attend school.
The salon is bright and clean and comfortable. The staff is sweet, friendly and always ready to serve coffee, tea, a diet coke, or run next door to pick up a salad for you. Natalee does the prettiest makeup, too.
The best part, too, are Gary and Jesus. There is no attitude at this salon. Just great talent and two wonderful guys. I just wish they were closer to Malibu. But it is worth the drive.

Gary Lacy has been cutting and coloring my hair since 2006. I had tried several other stylists after relocating to LA from San Francisco but once I found Gary, I was all set. He is amazing and the new salon is terrific. Gary and Jesus are both welcoming and talented. I totally recommend them!

My husband went in to get a hair cut today, and came back very happy. Amazing service. Great haircut. Very personable and friendly staff. Jesus was great! Take advantage of the discount for Unilocalers. he did and even got a discount for being a first timer… You can’t beat the price for the cut, wash and the location. he recommends it highly.

I have been going to get my hair done with jesus, for about 1yr now.
I live in the neighborhood and just walked in & gave it a chance.
I have been to many salons all over LA, & I have to say, I found a great place, walking distance from my home. Great service & great stylist.

Finally I found a colorist/​stylist that I love within walking distance to home! Gary Lacy did an amazing job with my highlights and cut. I was unsure of what I wanted to do and he listened to my ideas, gave me great suggestions, and now I feel like a super star. The prices are reasonable, the salon is pleasant and comfortable, and the people are friendly. I’ll be back for sure and now I won’t wait 3 months between cuts looking all shabby.

The entire experience was very pleasant, starting with the phone call to make the appointment. It’s nice to be able to book an appointment on Saturday for the following Monday. I was a few minutes late and Jesus and Gary –the owners– were waiting for me at the front. They didn’t seem annoyed at the fact that I was late and got down to business right away. I’m a very loyal hair customer and I had lost my hair guy when he moved salons a year ago. Yes, I did not get a hair cut for a year and my hair was a mess. Jesus cut, blew dry and styled my very long hair in 40 minutes! He made it seem so easy and stress free. Did I mentioned I hadn’t had a hair cut in a year? By the time I left the salon my hair looked healthy, fresh and I had a nice haircut to go with it. The salon is really nice and their prices are incredible reasonable. You can tell that these guys care about their business and for me is really important to support the locals. I can’t wait for Barbrix to open across the street. All my future haircuts will be followed by a glass of wine. Conclusion: if you live in the area and want to have your hair done by nice people who care and know what they’re doing book your next appointment with Jesus and Gary. Also, they won’t intimidate you into buying a ton of hair products. Actually, they didn’t put too much hair product on my hair either… just the right amount.
