It is 5:45pm and they are out of chicken. Why the are you called el POLO loco?! Everytime I come here something I want is unavailable.

I am writing this update because twice now I have had trouble getting the service discount at this location. The last time when I showed them my military ID and requested the discount the cashier said that the discount is not for military service members. Today I printed a copy of the webpage that specifically includes members of the military and states that people not in uniform can simply show their valid ID and mention the discount prior to ordering. The gentleman taking my order disagreed saying a uniform is required. I pointed out the fine print. Then he gave me the Senior Discount(10%) instead of the Service discount(15%). Its not a huge deal but if El Pollo Loco offers a discount to those who serve then those people should not have to argue with the staff to get the discount especially when presented with a printed copy of the website.

Pro tip: if your sick or know some one who is sick, get them the TORTILLACHICKENSOUP. it’s the only thing I get here and it is delicious. It tastes like my own grandma made it. As for the rest of the menu, it’s alright. I mean it’s a fast food joint, don’t expect a five star situation. If you want authentic Mexican food, stop being lazy and walk down the street to that taco shop across the bar called Woods. Plot twist: Pollo Loco actually has good chicken… who knew?

Whatever you do DONT order delivery from this place. Food was TWOHOURS late. Every time we called they promised«should be there in 10 mins» They refused call the driver and were completely unhelpful.

This establishment is not fancy like some of the newly built or remodeled locations, but clean, food is good and staff are nice. I especially like the location of this place, located right at the corner of La Brea and Sunset, I love watching cars and busy streets while I enjoy my meals! There’s a big parking lot in a back so no need to worry about looking for a parking;) My fav is Baja shrimp burrito and Shrimp tostada salad.

They always have the freshest, hottest churros around! Pretty sure they are made to order which is much better than most food chains that let them sit around and get old before serving. And for a real cheap price too! Real friendly night staff!

I personally love el pollo loco in general, but I am writing a review for this specific location because I come here frequently. With that being said the staff are all nice and the place is clean. The salsa bar is always stocked and portions here are plentiful. The only reason why i can’t put a 5 star rating is because of the homeless infested bus stop right outside of the restaurant. Nothing against homeless people, I know some individuals can’t be as blessed as others, but these particular homeless have a pattern of being rowdy, drunk(or some other intoxication), and in people’s faces asking for money. This is not a desirable situation. Nonetheless, this is a great location and great quality, inexpensive food! Just avoid the bus stop.

I had the ultimate double chicken bowl for lunch. Ofelia was the cashier who who assisted me while ordering. She was very friendly and helped me decide on what to order. I pretty much filled the bowl with the different types of salsa. None of it was spicy, but gave it some more flavor. The serving size was just right. There’s plenty of parking in the lot. However, during lunch time it can get difficult when trying to find a spot. Some of the parking spaces are tight, so my car couldn’t fit into particular spaces.

This is one of the best El Pollo Loco I’ve ever ordered from. The staff is really nice and friendly. Chicken is always delicious and they probably have the best Orange Fanta I’ve ever had.

There’s a lot I miss about NorCal, specifically the super burritos. Well, look no further Yay Area transplants. It doesn’t seem like it would make any sense at all, but El Pollo Loco’s Double Chicken burrito for $ 6.75(that includes tax) is as big, delicious and satisfying as any staple in the Bay. Stuffed with white chicken mostly with a little bit of bean, cheese, sour cream… this wrap will surely surprise even the most dedicated veteran of Mission-style burritos. Best of all? It’s not filled with a ton of rice. I’m officially addicted, add 2 – 3 ramikens of the spicy red sauce… and folks, we definitely have winner.

I went there on a Friday night with my husband, it was pretty empty. we ordered the 8 piece chicken dish with mash potato and corn. the chicken was very dry and there wasn’t any special taste there, Costco chicken are much better. Mash potato was tasteless too, I didn’t like it. however the corn was not bad. I wouldn’t recommend it to go!

I am typically not the guy that opts for fast food. However, I will opt for El Pollo Loco when I want something inexpensive, quick and somewhat healthy. Yesterday we decided to get an early dinner(330PM ish) at El Pollo Loco on Sunset and Crescent Heights Blvd. Service was reasonably quick and they took our order within 2 minutes of our arrival. Grabbed a booth which was comfortable. Unfortunately it was dirty. We wet a towel and wiped it down prior to eating. So it was clean prior to the arrival of our food. Hey — prices are cheap here so it did not bother me. I ordered the bacon and avocado tostada salad. They forgot the bacon and avocado leaving me with a chicken tostada salad. Fortunately they were able to give me some avocado and bacon separately to add to this salad. Hence, when all was said and done it came out fine. This is an excellent very tasty menu item I have had before. It is consistently delicious. To drink I had an Horchata. It was warm out of the machine and needed plenty of ice. It was tasty; however, wish it were cooler coming from their dispenser. For the money it is hard to beat this joint. You go here for a great salad for under $ 8 including a drink. I will return(often).

It is what it is… I hate that expression. It seems clean. The service was friendly enough. The food was on par with every other El Pollo Loco I’ve ever been to.

I’ve been to many other el pollo Loco’s in my life. They are fine. This one is not. Dry chicken. Bad soda fountain. And it’s full of tourists. Go Across the street to the freaking Burger King I know I should have

Any place that let’s me plop on and take away all the salsa and sauces and I can take down is A-ok with me. It’s like a Mexican Boston Market or KFC. The Chicken is fire-grilled and quite good, plus you can get all kinds of sides, like corn, rice, beans, or even tacos and burritos, or salads. The salads I’ve had here a few times and they are not like those disgusting looking pre packaged wilted ones at McDonalds. Look, it’s not a five star restaurant, but for on the go food it’s a much healthier option than fast food burger joints. The only thing about this particular location is that is attracts a colorful crowd. There’s always homeless people lurking and soliciting for money or a bunch of stoners from the pot depository in the adjoining shopping center, but what are you gonna do? Just get your food and go! Or stay and fill up on the bottomless soda fountain and self-serve salsa bar and enjoy the show!

I will first say the food at this location is great. They have all of the same options as any other el pollo loco, and the food taste great. I normally order the chicken tostada with extra cheese, however when I pay $ 1 for extra cheese I get a tiny salsa cup of cheese. Other than them being skimpy on the cheese, the food is great. Now the location… that’s another story. It is located in the Hollywood area, and since I spend so much of my time in this area, I end up here. When you come here, expect to see plenty of homeless people. Many of them will be right by el pollo loco but you WILL see them. Some will ask you for spare change, others will just go and mind their business. Once you go inside of the restaurant your okay. Now the MALE workers here, I don’t know where to begin. Maybe its the constant undressing me with their eyes, or when I sit down how one of them will sit at the table right next to me. This would be fine if it were crowded, but the time I come here, there is NOONE here but me! That always bothers me, but I try not to say anything, but if it continues I will.

There was a change in ownership here a couple of years ago. Under the new management, they are so stingy, I paid almost $ 12 for chicken and asked for pre-packaged salsa sauce. They only gave me 2 and was not happy when I asked for more. The store is filthy and it is so expensive for fast food. I won’t be back.
