The guy on the phone was super nice! They’re the best Chinese food in Hollywood! I definitely recommend checking them out.

Good sizes for the price but the chicken was purple and stringy and filled with bone.

Wasn’t my fav. Spring rolls were good. This place is inexpensive and you get what you pay for. So be prepared for mediocre. I feel so mean writing this. I’d totally order the spring rolls again.

Hoy’s is my favorite Chinese restaurant in LA. I started coming here when I moved to LA and lived up the street. The food is great! Prices reasonable. Service is great and fast!

I ordered dinner and it explained butterfly shrimp on the menu and I received 8 baby shrimp in a bag. When I called to ask about this they said ‘What can we do for you?” Then hung up on me. With all the good reviews I thought I’d give it a shot. Not ag

Ok, So I had really high hopes but the food lacked a lot of flavor. I was reading the reviews and I thought this looks like a decent place to have dinner. We took our seats and were given menus promptly. It was pretty chilly so I didn’t even take off my jacket in the place. I order the Vegetable Egg Rolls and my friend ordered the Fried Shrimp Wontons. i was kind of disappointed because there was little to no vegetable in the egg roll. Plus the sweet sauce was pretty bland to me. However, there was a spicy sauce on the table that did the trick. For my friend she was expecting cream cheese to intact the shrimp wontons, however it was just a piece of shrimp inside. For entrees, I ordered the Orange Chicken with an addition of broccoli($ 1 extra) and Chow Mein($ 1 extra). The Orange Chicken was good but my Chow Mein was pretty dry and bland. Which is why I got extra orange chicken sauce. The servings are very plentiful, definitely two people can eat on dish. For my friend she first asked for the Fun Noodle with Shrimp, she wasn’t a fan of the noodles, which was her fault. She should of looked at the picture, however the waiter was very nice to change it to fried rice. Which took no time! Just a little greasy. Overall I enjoyed myself and would more likely try again. They are fast as making the food, also if you check-in you get a free Ice tea!

He ordered fried calamari, fried rice, pork buns, sweet and sour chicken & i saiiiid id only take a bite of EACH. .Tell me why i ended up eating more than my starving friend!!! Omg i was so full but i kept eating! It hurt so good. Give this little gem a try.

It’s a little different from your standard Chinese restaurant. They serve some authentic dishes and gives huge portions for a hungry stomach.

I’ve been going to Hoy’s Wok for over 15 years or more. and it’s the best fast food Chinese I have tasted around. I’ve moved to the valley and hate that I won’t be able to have it for take out anymore.

The food was super oily and not very flavorful. The price is «okay» but just not enough to risk the B health rating.

Wow! Shocked at how right on these guys are. The fried rice reminds me of Golden City’s in san diego. simple. and amazingly delicious. The meat in the Mongolian beef is tender. clean. lean. spiced to a delicious perfection… egg flour soup is yummy also. Was suprised… its right on sunset boulevard. when you walk in. its nothing special. but these guys have the right formulas for the food. no question. Will be returning here to try more for certain.

Nothing fancy here. Just good hole in the wall Chinese food. What more could you ask for? Very reasonable prices for everything on the menu. It is in a touristy area, but don’t be discouraged. This definitely has a more locals following. Try the chicken and shrimp with eggplant. It’ll make your heart melt. Oh yeah, and don’t skip the Thai tea. No this isn’t a Thai restaurant, but who could cares?!

Great takeout food! A bit oily, but loved the beef chow fun. Order was ready in 10 minutes for pickup.

For being in a touristy area, I was really impressed with how good the food was. I do quite a bit of traveling and a lot of places where tourists are, chances are the food isn’t the best. I came here during lunch time with a friend of mine. He got the Mongolian beef and I got the orange chicken(both lunch specials) and the Orange chicken was so good! It’s so hard to find good Orange chicken nowadays! I live in the San Gabriel Valley and there is a good amount of Chinese restaurants so I’ve had my fair share of Orange chicken. I took a piece of my friends Mongolian chicken, tasted good but I’m a Orange chicken fan so I didn’t care too much for it. Cool spot, good food, coming back when I’m in the area again!

I was introduced to Hoy’s Wok by my brother who would bring some home occasionally. It’s pretty tasty fast Chinese food. They even have Asian tourists get dropped off there to grub, crazy. Anyway the last time I went here I ordered online to pick up. It was fast and easy. it said it’d take about 20 minutes. When I showed up to pick up 15 minutes later my food was waiting for me. EXCELLENT! I paid cash and took off… super fast and easy. Got home and grubbed. The shrimp was tasty: a perfect blend of sweet and tangy and the chicken was good too. I wish I knew what chicken my brother bought last time, it had the hot peppers… oh well. One thing that sucks… the parking lot is crowded in the middle of the day… I’d definitely recommend Hoy’s Wok it’s tasty and inexpensive. Try it!

Hoy’s Wok is just wonderful, the fast friendly service and high quality food make this place a must try! I eat primarily plant based and I was delighted by how perfectly Hoy’s Wok cooked their veggies, nothing was overcooked! Some of the menu highlights are the sweet and sour chicken, braised string beans, and spinach in garlic sauce… the taro boba tea is delicious as well!

Hoys wok. One of the best Chinese food restaurants in Hollywood. I was nearby with my girl, and all my friends told me about this place, so I gave it a shot and it was totally amazing. I got the hoys chow mein which was excellent, it had shrimp, veggies, beef, and chicken. My girl and I had a small meal before we came in and this was perfect for the both of us to finish and be satisfied for the night. Also the check in for one free Thai iced tea was delicious that went well with our chow mein. Really good place to eat at and I definitely will be back to try out more goodies with my girlfriend or friends!

We were craving some Chinese and as we live 10mins from Hoy’s wok we decided to give it a try. There were some good reviews on Unilocal too. The restaurant does mostly take out so wasn’t crowded when we went to pick up our order, the food take 30mins to be ready so don’t bother going before they seem to have many orders. Upon checking in on Unilocal you get a free Thai iced tea which is great. The food — Mangolian Beef — Meet was cooked well and tender, the sauce however left the stomach wanting more in flavor. There was to much of a meet taste which wasn’t to my preference. Schehuan Shrimp — Shrimp was cooked, it has a very light fishy taste. The sauce was bland and not spicy or tangy as I expected. Fried rice– This was simply bad, has a weird flavor. Mix veggies stir fry– The only thing that was nice was this dish, fresh veggies and well cooked. This is a hit or miss restaurant.

My friend Nelson recommended I try out the food here! We got fried rice with orange chicken, and crispy shrimp. The fried rice was nice and fluffy and the crispy shrimp was still nice and crunchy even with all of the sauce that was on it. We also got Thai tea and it was the perfect combination of sweet and creamy, unlike other places. The best part of our experience was our server, I think her name was linh, she was super attentive to our table and helped us pick out our stuff. I really recommend coming here if you’re ever in the area. The food is good and so is the service! :)

I was craving for some chinese food & was so happy to find this place when i was driving through sunset blvd. No need to park on the side street because they have a parking lot. So i had to give this spot a 5 for so many reasons 1) when u walk inside its pretty nice, bathroom is clean & there are plenty of seats inside! 2) the employees are super friendly! Right when i walked into the door they greeted us & was very helpful answering all our questions about the food since it was our first time going. 3) dont forget to check in. you get a free drink! Haha! 4) they cook the food at the front so you know its freshly done! They cook it fast too, so when your super hungry like i was. This is the perfect spot! I got a side order of the chow mein, wontons for appetizers, crispy shrimp, thai tea drink & chicken in black bean sauce. 5) the food is really good!!! & the serving is large! Good for 2 people to share! 6) last but not least! They carry BROWN& white RICE! Most chinese restaurants dont! So for this place to have brown rice is amazing! I will definitely come back when im around the area! So sad because i wanted to try a lot more of what they had! But i’ll be back! Thanks Hoy Wok!
