I had the lemon chicken. It came with rice and a spring roll and lemon dipping sauce! It was very affordable and tasted very good! Nice size portions for the money!

This is my favorite Chinese food in LA. They have all the items I could want — many places in the area don’t have wonton soup, or general Tsao’s. But the food has always been top notch every time I’ve ordered it, and the owners are spectacularly nice. I have a hard time choosing between the lo mein and the fried rice. Both are so good. But my FAVORITE thing is the pork dumplings. Order ahead and pick up, there’s no place to sit and«dine-in» except for plastic tables and chairs on the sidewalk.

Was working around the block came here for a bite to eat was feeling Chinese food I’m giving it 2 stars because the price is pretty good but I guess you get what you pay for The food was kind of bland not much flavor in it and after about 12 bites I felt getting sick and full. that is rare for me being 6’8350lbs and loving food… Will not recommend it… unless you’re in a tight budget…

Can’t believe this is only a 3 star rating. This place is awesome for to go eating or delivery. You can even eat outside on a catering table. But not really a dine in place. Food is awesome. The lady always remembers my order. She’s really sharp.

It’s been a couple years since I’ve eaten here and it’s still one of the best Chinese food restaurants around town I usually get the salt and pepper crispy fish is one of my favorite dishes The fish is so juicy and spicy I guess that’s what always brings me back. the quality of the food in-service excellent I used to work on Highland and sunset and my company would order out at this restaurant deliveries were prompt

I love the food here, but had an issue with delivery, We ordered at 6:55pm, the food just arrived here at 8:17pm. I’ve called twice and they are very apologetic, I would have preferred a call back to tell me about the delay instead of waiting… and waiting for the delivery Its been delivered and I will say that its the best chinese food in this area… just give it some time for delivery

The delivery took 35 minutes longer than they said it would, and the food was mediocre at best. Would not recommend.

5 Stars! Get the General Tao chicken it’s perfection. The best and most consistent source of Lo Mien in LA. Great and friendly staff with a specialist chef that really makes you feel welcome to wander on the menu and try the next new dish. We always order something unplanned and are always surpised by how fast and great the food is(my gf is from Taiwan). Simple atmosphere and a neighborhood staple.

I did not know it was possible to make Lo Mein dry and painful to eat. Waited 90 minutes for delivery within 1.5 miles and the driver did not apologize. Thanks for cold, late, below average Chinese food. If you order from here, prepare for disappointment.

It’s okay. Friendly owners and cheap food. But the quality of the food is mediocre. They give you really big portions but I have yet to try a dish that makes me want to come back for more. I’ll stop by once in a while when I’m craving something different. But from what I’ve tried, I’ve enjoyed walnut shrimp the best.

Just read another review of this place and was going to go easy on them, but I too got very ill yesterday from eating here. I warn anyone who eats here, they don’t wash their hands after go to the bathroom. I saw the owner, this Asian older gentleman go in and out of the bathroom so fast. The toilet was flushing as he left the bathroom. I ordered some chicken and the food tasted good, but I got so sick only hours later. I called to complained after I got sick and some guy with a strong Asian accent was very mean to me. He started to call me names and hung up on me.

How can there be ANY positive reviews? Total deceit! We weren’t expecting much so we ordered General Tso’s, Fried Rice and Shrimp Lo Mein. All of it was inedible. We waited an hour for a two block delivery and threw our dinner in the trash. I can tell they just go through the motions and never actually eat what they serve and the oil tasted dirty. There’s too much competition in this city for someone to perform this badly and survive. It’s out job as consumers to run them out of business. I’ll take this review down if they give me back my $ 29.00 and promise to try harder.

The best little hole in the wall in Hollywood. Really fresh food made to order and big servings to match. They’re closed Saturdays, which is a shame. Would have thought it was one of the busiest nights for takeout.

Le Mandarette is a Chinese takeout place that I frequent visited on work days in Hollywood. The quick turnover as well as its pricing are the reasons that I’m drawn to it. Chicken with broccoli on brown rice served with a fried veggie spring roll for $ 6 after tax? It’s hard to beat that. Sure, the sauces served there can sometimes be overwhelming, but it’s cheap and very very much reasonably priced. Not shabby ATALL. The boss lady behind the counter is always friendly. If you’re looking for top quality Chinese food like that being served at Newport Seafood in Beverly Hills? Forget about this place. If you’re thinking about Panda Express? Dude, just get your food here instead. As for rice dishes or lunch specials, getting the brown rice or fried rice does not cost extra. Enough of my rambling. Give it a try, because Le Mandarette does not suck at all.

When I first moved to Los Angeles years ago, le mandate yet became my staple go to place! It’s healthy Chinese. It may be just a kitchen with some outdoor seating, but that adds to the appeal and idea of the place. They aren’t there to deliver a great ambiance, they are there to serve great Chinese. The food won’t make you feel bad after eating it. And they always have it made within 15 mins. Recommendations: chicken fried rice and the hot and sour soup. The woman at the desk is very sweet. Make sure to order over 10 dollars or bring cash!
