Waba Waba. I don’t know who the founded are but I really like Waba. Healthy and non expensive. This place is clean bring is in Hollywood near a lot of homeless people. I certain recommend.

This place is the best when you want fast food but want to eat healthy. Not expensive at all, for the quality of food. Perfect for when I’m walking home from the gym. Get the half/half chicken and steak, cause both are really good. Employees are always super nice too.

Ahh WaBa Grill– when you want to eat healthily on a budget and time limit. Absolutely love this place! Both visits I have ordered the same thing– the half/half veggie bowl with brown rice and avocado and both times I have been extremely satisfied with everything going on in that meal. Great healthy alternative and service with a smile.

Nearby similar places Soy Sauce Roll & Bowl and The Flame Broiler both compare favorably to WaBa. I really love the concept as I am a big fan of meat/veggie/rice bowls. But the execution leaves much to be desired. I got the salmon veggie bowl with avocado. It was $ 11.25 so not cheap. The salmon portion was very small. They put the teriyaki sauce on top of the avocado, so the one part that doesn’t need any sauce gets all the sauce. The sauce should go on the bowl before they put the avocado topping on. It took 12 minutes from ordering to be ready. The cabbage and veggies were mushy. The salmon was tasty but so small and needed some sauce. THEONEGOODTHING: BROWNRICEISNOEXTRACHARGE

Love the waba waba waba grill. I like that you can get brown rice and also white meat chicken. Although I’m in the camp that it shouldn’t be any extra for those things but they know healthy people will pay more so they all charge

Very friendly right from the moment we walked in. The food was made to order, and within a very reasonable timeframe. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Great customer service will always get 5 stars from me! The first night I went in, Jamie was cooking and Savannah and Breda were up front. Great team! They were extremely welcoming when I asked if they were still serving(I came in 5 min before close). The establishment was very clean and the made-to-order food was fresh. I have ordered pick up and take out several times since. One of the take out orders was incorrect. When I called, I was given options on how I would like them to correct the mistake. This is great! They were very friendly and genuinely sorry for the error. I get it, mistakes happen. The way it was handled(great customer service) is why I will be a loyal customer. The portion size is good and the options are just right. They’ve been very accommodating when it comes to my special requests… no onions, sauce on the side, white meat, brown rice. They listen! It seems they enjoy working there and care about the success of the business; always pitching the avocado addition. Each time I’ve gone in, the front area, kitchen and restrooms are clean. This is very inviting and makes me feel comfortable with what is going into my mouth. To sum things up… Available FREE parking Friendly Workers Clean Establishment Fresh Food Great Customer Service Convenient Ready in less than 5 min Coupons I hope to see a loyalty rewards program in the future!

I love their menu, but I think I came on an off night. Super dry chicken and meat. You can always judge a restaurant based on how they do their chicken, and this one was underwelming. But I won’t bash on it too much. Maybe it was a bad batch the cook made. But then again, Chipotle never has dry chicken… I’m going to give them another chance bc I really do like how healthy the sections are. You should give then a try too and make your own opinion!

I’ve been looking for an alternative to Flame Broiler because there seem to be none in Hollywood and there is no delivery service. I love the simplicity of rice and chicken bowls, and the sweet sauce that usually accompanies them. At the same time, I’m a fan of supporting local establishments and try not to frequent chains too much(Flame Broiler excluded). However, I was really craving some rice and chicken and decided to check out Waba, since I was already in the plaza. I was very happy with my choice. The portions are great for the price, the meat and rice is cooked perfectly, and the optional avocado on top is a treat, even for $ 1.60. I’ve gone twice and gotten the half chicken/half steak white rice bowl with avacado, and it’s been great each time. In fact, I’m about to dig in. Give this spot a try. It’s clean, the people are friendly and the menu is fresh and simple, and delicious! And there’s plenty of parking, as a cherry on top.

Who the hell actually uses the coupons that come in the mail from chain restaurants such as Waba Grill… Well apparently I do, or at least I ATTEMPTEDTO! TB(thunder buddy) and I were gifted with a shiny extra large coupon for Waba Grill, and I’m not sure what turned our appetites on more, the tasty deals(free chicken plate with the purchase of one chicken plate!!!) or the scrumptious looking dishes, that also catered to my dietary restrictions. That being said, when we hit up Waba, because I have to modify everything, we were left with the ability to only use one of the 6 or 7 coupon deals on the card– Womp Womp… FREEAVOCADO. Initially I thought to myself«wait what? Avocado is extra? That’s dumb» but… When I got my meal, I saw why, because hot damn they give you a huge hunk! Any who… While we wound up handing over our coupon to the woman taking our order, she managed to F up, and still charged us. Initially she was confident that she didn’t, but TB, being extremely smart, KNEW she didn’t ring up our order correctly and questioned her only to be defensive in return… THATBEINGSAID, when we were filling our drinks, she waved us over and pointed out her error, but at that point it wasn’t worth spewing over, so Waba got to keep that extra $ 1.25, or whatever… Dammit. Could have bought a pack of gum to freshen my breath after the meal! TB got the chicken bowl, with WHITEMEAT(they charge extra for white meat, FYI) and I got the salmon plate, no rice, just steamed veggies and a little microscopic side salad, and no sauce. Our order was ready within 4 minutes, which is great for those who are hungry hungry hippos! My salmon was actually extremely tasty and fresh, and I think Waba subconsciously knew that I adore the pairing of salmon with steamed cabbage! Steamed broccoli is okay … However, I hate steamed carrots, which also comes in the trio of steamed vegetables, so I’m warning you right now. My only real qualm with this dish is that the salmon portion is microscopic… For the $ 10 price tag. I mean you can get ONEPOUND of salmon at Whole Foods for $ 12… But in this dish, they give you a measly 3.5 ounces(I did the research, ha ha, cause I’m awesome? Or perhaps a flat out loser…). Thankfully the avocado was there to help fill me up, otherwise I would have left hungrier than when I walked into the joint. How was the chicken bowl? Apparently dry, but good enough to eat the entire contents of! I give Waba props for trying to shell out healthier fast food, and I definitely see it staying in business, however, I think they should offer side portions of meat as I would have liked more and I actually would have liked to try the chicken… Oh, and they need to hire staff that actually honor coupons. Just saying… Or BYOA– bring your own avocado, ha ha!

This is one of the very few fast food restaurants that you cannot go wrong with. The foods are very simple and we’ll prepared. They’re healthy and usually under 700 calories per serving. My personal favorite is the chicken Veggie bowl because I always feel healthy — ish after I eat it :) I do love that the LA Brea location is so clean and the service is great. I’m looking forward to going back there again.

Fast and inexpensive especially for clean/healthy food. Grilled go order. Vegetables are actually crispy. Pretty good value.

Definitely happy to have a healthier lunch option in a reasonable radius of my work! But this is a «I didn’t bring my own healthy lunch so this is a guiltless option» sort of deal NOT a craving/in the mood for deal. At least for me. Sort of like I don’t crave taking my vitamins in the morning, but it’s a good thing to do. I usually get the shrimp+veggie bowl over brown rice. The grilled shrimp is always delicious. The vegetables, although healthy(steamed), leave something to be desired. It’s just broccoli, carrots and LOTS of cabbage and I’m pretty sure they’re steamed from frozen. I KNOW, I KNOW – I HAVESUCHHIGHSTANDARDS. But if it’s a GRILL, how about throwing some squash, maybe some mushrooms in there? Dare I suggest BELLPEPPERS?! Even grilling the carrots and broccoli would take it up a notch. Just some ideas. The hot sauce is good, although I have not tried the Louisiana Hot Sauce. The Waba sauce is good, too – but if your health-consciousness involves limiting your sugar intake, keep in mind it has 9 grams per serving. The tofu dishes have more sugar than the meat. Avocado, much like guac in other establishments, is extra. $ 1.50. I like(never thought this day would come) that their calorie content is clearly displayed and the nutritional info is very accessible. Another plus for lunchers who work in this area – it is AWAY from the clusterfuckery that is Hollywood and Highland.

Third visit here and I love it! It’s not just a healthier option than other places in the area, but also a better tasting one. Can’t go wrong with the chicken and brown rice bowl with avocado. Add some of the Louisiana hot sauce and it’s gold! I’ll definitely be a regular here.

They still have a ways to go to catch up to Chick-fil-A in customer service but they’re a welcome addition to Hollywood. Cheap, fast, clean, tasty and decently healthy without being pretentious.

I’m so glad that Waba Grill finally opened! I went in today to ordered their combo number one with their teriyaki chicken and steak with brown rice salad and a slice of orange and it was delicious! Staff was friendly and efficient I didn’t have to wait long for my food. The restaurant just opened so it’s impeccable. I will definitely be coming back it is healthy and reasonably priced and I appreciate the cleanliness of the place.
