I loved this place I can’t believe it closed down!!! Hopefully when the construction is over they open again. The staff was always excellent.

Well it sucks that its closed but it wasnt that great. service took forever but you got a free breakfast meal on your birthday. I think it was the grand slam. You can get this at any dennys when you show your ID. there was also this funky smell in there. the waiters were always nice though.

Probably the worst Denny’s ever in the history of mankind. Showed up at 10pm just to get a milkshake and a coffee. Coffee came out quickly but tasted burnt and nasty. Waited nearly 30 minutes for the milkshake and finally gave up, left a $ 5 on the table and walked out. Place was run-down, nasty green carpet, horrendous dim fluorescent lighting that made it feel like we were in horror flick. Service truly was horrific. The couple next to us sat there for 15 minutes with their menus closed before someone finally came by to take their order. I’m hoping they’ll bulldoze this place when USC renovates this shopping complex.

Came here after an event at the Shrine next door because it was close and open. Big mistake. We waited ten to fifteen minutes for our server to acknowledge us and take our order. Took another ten minutes to bring us our drinks and they weren’t correct. People who got seated after us are getting service before us. And to clarify, our group of four isn’t college kids from next door either. The place isn’t even busy and there are open tables. Not even waiting for my food to come to write this review. Oh wait, half out food came out. But no silverware to eat it with. More time going by and no food or silverware. Dreadful place.

I come here often. This Denny’s in particular has moderate to slow service when I do come here. Sometimes even with an empty restaurant its take a bit to even get seated. The food however is really good. I recommend the slamburger or a grand slam. Seasoned fries rock too! They do split checks and allow people to take their time to chill. A USC neighborhood Denny’s. Convenient parking right next to it.

Worst place ever!!! Horrible service… I left a ring that was given to me by someone special(took It off to show it to A friend placed it on the table… Forgot about it) … My friends were still in inside … I called and they didnt want to give the ring to one of my friends. … The manager is an ignorant and incompetent person, no one can reason with him. I went back a couple of times to get the ring back and the manager didn’t want to give me the ring back. … He said«I took too long» … About 2 – 3 years ago I used to go here all the time, the the manager was changed and everything went downhill. :(I never got my ring back. Also the servers are sometimes really rude… They get mad if you ask for things after bringing the food.

The only reason I am giving this restaurant one star is that there is no option for zero stars. My experience at this Denny’s was so dreadful that I felt a part of soul die while waiting for my food. We waited a total of one hour before getting out food after the waitress came and got our order. Overall only come here if it’s your last option.

Great friendly service any time of day. Well, especially at 1 am when the after-party crowd rolls in. The space is kind of old and dingy, but it’s a Denny’s after all so décor expectations are low. The last time I rolled in here I ordered the brownie topped with Vanilla ice cream and it was aaaaaamazing. I don’t know how I’ve never ordered that before. It was crazy good.

This Denny’s single-handedly provided me with the absolute worst eating, service, and ambiance restaurant experience I have encountered. I must write about it. We are a respectful group of 9 and arrived around midnight, in which we were seated after a few minutes. Not too busy, and within eyesight I could see at least two waitstaff in addition to the manager. Now we could understand waiting 5 – 10 minutes before a server comes to welcome us and get drink orders, but we waited for almost half an hour before the manager came up to ask if we wanted water(which was then already the full food order, because we had so much time with the menus). The establishment itself was just plain NASTY. Unfortunately I had too much«sitting around» time with the wait for the food that I had a chance to fully take in how this place is decorated and how it represents itself. It must have previously been an old YMCA because the ceilings were very high(over 40 feet) and everything was colored pink, purple and blue like a gym from the 70s. Peering up at those ceilings scared the crap of out me because not only were the lights and vents completely BLACK with dust, but it looked like the dust in the lights were actually written on with fingers. I couldn’t make out words, but I could make out letters. Seriously — can’t that be cleaned?! I honestly don’t understand how this place could ever pass a health code. Décor-wise, half of the seating area had children’s pictures on the wall(clowns, etc.) and huge brightly-colored balloon balls hanging from the ceiling. I’m talking balloons like 6 feet in diameter — and these were not for a recent birthday party — they appeared as if they had been hanging there for years. Pan your vision to the left and you’ll see a random 3D American flag framed poster and then a «Zephyr 2000» poster of a monorail train. Last but not least was the frame right behind where we were sitting — not only was it hanging crooked but it had a PIECEOFCHRISTMASWRAPPINGPAPER caught on the corner of it. Like it was given to Denny’s as a gift and they couldn’t rip off the rest of the wrapping paper before hanging it up. Seriously?! The other girls in my group tried the bathroom and said they were really scared, so I decided to not even go there. The food itself was so-so, but my eggs looked so fake and the yolks so unnaturally neon-yellow that I couldn’t stomach it. Transactions at the end were the icing on the cake to this experience. Paying separately up at the counter, everyone was overcharged approximately 20% by the manager. After I questioned it and he shot me down, I settled paying the extra money and realized I would soon write this review. Walking out of this sad establishment around 1:30am, I realized that what I encountered tonight made me feel like I was in the premise of a horror film or adventure book where you start at the bottom, and well… this is the absolute bottom. I truly hope Denny’s Corporate reads this review and helps spiff up this place.

Pros: Free wi-fi, it’s open 24⁄7! Cons: The service there is the worst I have ever encountered. We waited almost an hr for our food. Took the waiter 30 minutes to bring our drinks and the table behind us came in when we got our drinks AND got served before us. When we went to pay, the guy was on his phone– how professional! Maybe the students at USC don’t mind, but when you have visitors coming in it shines a bad light on the restaurant. I’ve been here maybe 3 or 4 times(hoping it was just our waiter the last time) and every single time it was a bad experience. If you’re in no rush to eat, by all means come here. Three stars because its the only place open 24⁄7!

Is there a Denny’s that has more than 3-star review on Unilocal? I only come here because it’s open 24 hours and it’s never a wait. Anyway, this one gets ONE star. The service is horrible. I don’t think I’ve ever had an experience at this Denny’s where my food was made as I ordered it. Several times, they brought me something completely different than what I asked for. Several times, I’ve asked for a correction on my food and the server just made excuses. For example. I ordered a scramble that had grape tomatoes in it(which the menu explicitly listed) and the grape tomatoes looked good. When they brought out my scramble, it has chunks of regular tomatoes in it, so I asked if I could have grape tomatoes instead since that’s what the menu listed. The response I got was«That’s the way it’s supposed to be» and then«We don’t have grape tomatoes»… really? Then TELLMETHAT when I order it! Sigh… A sign on the front door advertises their free wi-fi, but every time I bring my computer here, it’s never worked. There was ONE time when it started working, but only after my computer had been«connected» for about an hour. I will admit that the manager of this place is pretty nice, and I’ve always been treated well by him, but the rest of his staff need to attend some customer service classes or something… go to Chick-fil-A and observe how a FASTFOODRESTAURANT treats their guests better than they do…

Got a Bacon Avocado Burrito. First cut, found a black, inch-long hair. Sent it back and got a burrito WITHOUTBACON. IT’S FREAKIN’ BACONALIASEASON. I NEEDMORETHANONEBACONSTRIPINMYBURRITO. Ahem, anyways… My friend got to her second pancake and found a blonde hair in her food as well. One star. Forever and always. Don’t come here. No excuses. Not worth it. Nuh uh uh.

I always like to go to any Denny’s, since I LOVE junk-food. In most regards, this Denny’s is just like any other Denny’s: — service is OK but not excellent(if I was looking for PERFECT service, Denny’s would never be the place to go to). — food is just as well prepared as at any other Denny’s — OK but not excellent(if I was looking for a PERFECT dinner I’d go somewhere else). Soooo what’s the reason the score came down to a bare two stars, you wonder. I’ll tell you why: THEIRCARPETSMELLSHORRIBLE! I am not particularly sensitive to smells, and I do have an ordinary-not-too-clean carpet at home which I do not freak out over. But at this place… it just smells SOUR. I had a hard time finishing my meal because of this smell. Yeah, and the wi-fi was slow.

After waiting around 10mins to get seated, which was a major fail, our waitress actually came and took out order speedily. Usually I like this Denny’s and, as a Trojan Alumna, have been here a trillion times. It seems like everyone called in today or something cuz there is only one waitress for our whole section. But she’s handling business. Three stars for her, none for the rest of the staff. Minus a star for the one chick in the rocawear jacket who’s been frowning. AND the last time we were here the waitress literally lied and told us she couldn’t give us an extra side of croutons and onions for a salad. Like seriously? Just say«I don’t feel like bringing it.» At least I’ll respect your honesty.

Like what Suzy S said on her review, there’s some weird smell that emanates from this particular Denny’s. It’s not unpleasant, but at the same time, it definitely isn’t coming from food. And the interior needs a major redo! The positive of this location are its workers. They’re usually friendly and service is at a good pace. If there’s a big late-night crowd, you can expect a slight delay, but nothing that will get you steamed Food is your regular Denny’s fare but at times, you’d have to check your order. There’s this bacon thing going on at Denny’s these days and i ordered a three-bacon breakfast. With the entrée, there’s hash browns with cheese and bacon pieces. i ordered the hash without the cheese. When my order came, there wasn’t any cheese, but no bacon either. Asked them to redo it and it came back with large pieces of bacon For these chain breakfast diner places, i’d rather go to the IHOP on Flower and 8th, but parking isn’t always available

Denny’s make average food and I think people seem to forget that. This Denny’s location is within the Village and serves all the USC and Mt. Saint Mary’s students. The diner tends to be steadily busy all the time and even offers free wi-fi for guests. The morning I stopped by, I was seated as soon as I walked in. The table was ready and I saw no tears or holes in the seat, which is not the case at other Denny’s locations. The waitress came within a few minutes and took our drink and food order. She was nothing but polite and all smiles. The inside of the diner is all USC and bleeds Trojans, which I think is pretty cool for a corporate chain. Our order came and my Chicken Sandwich looked delicious(and healthy). The sandwich consisted of a grilled chicken breast served with lettuce, tomato and pickles on a sesame seed bun. I switched out the honey mustard for BBQ sauce and went with fresh fruit instead of French fries. The sandwich itself was surprisingly tasty and flavorful. The grilled chicken was grilled to perfection and the tangy BBQ sauce gave it a great flavor. A great late breakfast — early lunch.
