Steak tacos are good. Not special, but good. Not crazy about the salsa, rice, or guacamole.

We went to this restaurant with 11 people. The lady named Sofia has a problem with customers that walk in. This lady is so rude. We asked for water along with drinks and she seemed to have a problem. I asked for jalapeño verde and sho all peppers are green. WtF. This lady is crazy. I don’t see her business last too long if she continues with her attitude.

If you would have asked me to create a review 4 years ago I would have given this place 4 or 5 stars. this was my go to taco place in the area. I recently went back and the food was pretty horrible! The quality of the meat was gross, and everything in the taco was pretty bad. The only reason why I gave them 2 stars is because they are cheap, fast and the guacamole was super good. I would maybe try them again if I was desperate and I would absolutely not get the meat. They do use corn tacos which is good for me since I am gluten free. In the meantime I am on the hunch for a taco place that has corn tortillas

Horrible Experience. Not one to bash neighborhood businesses, but service here was awful. They shorted me food. Don’t waste your time and check out Los Burrito. Placed over an $ 80 order and they shorted us a burrito and taco dinner. I called about the mistake and they accepted the mistake, but refused to deliver the meal. The response was«we do not deliver», which I found odd since they just delivered ¾ of our meal 45 minutes before. We drove to pick it up and they responded with nothing but excuses.

This is the best mexican food around, hands down. Try the steak nachos or tacos even veggie tacos are good. Been going here for at least ten years.

I liked this place I saw it on a whim by my work and gave it a try, I got the taco dinner and I was pleasantly surprised to see fresh steak hit the grill after I ordered. The portion of beans and rice was a little on the light side but the beans had good flavor and the rice was authentic The tacos themselves were really good the meat was tender and the tortillas were nicely warmed. All in all not omg best place ever but way above average for hall in the wall Mexican food. I would go again.

It’s Saturday afternoon and I stopped to pick up a steak burrito to go. I was standing by the counter watching my burrito get prepared. The gentleman cooking proceeded to take two small scoops of what turned out to be precooked meat and put it on the grill to reheat. I asked him if he had fresh meat and he responded that the meat he was reheating was fresh and it was just cooked for the prior order. I was the only customer in the place. Regardless, I decided to take his word for it. I brought the burrito home but was sorely disappointed. The meat was hard and the steak pieces were so small it almost resembled ground beef. This place got my $ 6.50 for this crappy burrito, but I will never be back. Los Burritos Tapatios is so much better.

The tacos. Mmmm. The tacos here are so good. I don’t know why I haven’t written a review of this place earlier. I think I was planning to try some of their other offerings, but I’m always ordering the tacos and a large horchata. Try the Chile Rellenos tacos. It’s not on the menu last I checked so you have to ask for it. So worth it. I’d post pictures, but by the time the food arrives I’m already digging in.

Small little taco stand in a strip mall with a small menu. Prices are reasonable for their size compared to some other places and this place is all right. It is not very easy to find in the choked streets off Roosevelt road and I guess if you live in the area it is worth to go there for lunch.maybe.once.

I have no clue how long Allende has been here, but I just recently gathered enough courage to try it. Courage you ask? Yes, I’ve always been curious about this place but for some reason was scared of food poisoning or E. Coli scare, I mean a local joint down the street recently got shut down by the health department for it. Anyways, so yea, finally I visited and I wasn’t disappointed nor did I get E. Coli(for those that were wondering). It’s dingy, small and I’m sure scares some people off, but as Tony H says, it’s quick, it fills you up and sends you on your merry way. I lunched by myself, can I use that word like that? Lunched? Well I am. Like any other Mexican joint I had the chips and salsa which were ok. The chips sit under light to keep warm so please don’t come in expecting home made chips. Salsa is limey which added a little kick to the spice. The salsa for the tacos was spicy, just the way I like it. I had two steak tacos and I’m not going to lie, they were pretty tasty. Seasoned well and topped the right way, cilantro and onions only. Very pocket friendly for sure. If I ever need a Mexican food fix I’m sure I’ll visit this place again since it’s right down the street.

I love the salsa here. It tastes so fresh and delicious. Sometimes, if I have a party to go to, I go to Allende and just get a big cup of salsa to-go, and then just buy my own chips. People always give me lots of compliments when I bring over Allende salsa! I also used to get their steak burritos here before I became a vegetarian, and those were SO good! Their veggie burritos are ok, but I wish they would put grilled vegetables in them with the avacado and beans. I usually put on lots of that green sauce on the veggie burrito to give it more taste as it’s pretty bland on it’s own. I find the people in here are only as friendly to you are you are to them. I tend to go in cheerful and with a smile and they are always nice to me, but they may recognise me too since I’ve been going there for years now(mainly for the salsa).

Holy fresh guacamole! Sans onion please. The salsa is fresh and tasty. Bottles of Mexican Coca Cola, yummy cheep tacos. What more could you ask for. It is a hole in the wall with clap board menus, it looks as if it needs repair but I keep coming back for more tasty tacos. Sometimes the staff isn’t super friendly, but who cares, take yours to go!

Hands down best tacos al pastor I’ve had. I’ve been trying pork tacos for years… had many winners and many duds. I put Allende down as the best I’ve had. Place is small and family run… but very tasty food.

Just a small little place; does breakfast and standard Mexican(burritos, tacos, tortas…). I’m a fan because while they don’t have numerous vegetarian options, there is one vegetarian option for each type of food(two for breakfast, both egg-based), even the tortas. OK, it’s avocado, but at least I can order a torta off the menu. Meat eaters will have plenty of options, like at any authentic Mexican place. The taco was really tasty(soft shell style, $ 1.75!!) and the avocado quesadilla was simple but good too. Lunch with two of the unidentified sweet things in the case up front was less than $ 7 with no drink. The cook is out front, always a plus, and the food is done quickly. Another real plus is they knew what was in the food, and they were friendly, professional and fast when I asked. The refried beans are made with vegetable oil and are quite tasty; the Spanish rice, sadly, like many places, has chicken among the seasoning ingredients, which apparently come in a box. Didn’t think to ask about the sour cream but it’s the Mexican kind so it probably is gelatin-free — and if I ask, apparently they’ll know.

Super cheap and fast Mexican food. I have been to better on Ogden and on Roosevelt and probably won’t be back. Ordered the huevos a la Mexicana and a large horchata. The takeout container had far less food than I anticipated when I opened it. The horchata was delicious, and didn’t have too much ice. Very tiny place, especially tight at the counter where you order and also where the waiter needs to get plates and supplies for diners… but has some seating enough for a quick lunch. No desserts except for dessicated sweets in glass case by cashier.
