Had dinner there. It was excellent! I had the chile rellenos, the best I’ve ever had, and it is favorite of mine. They haven’t been open long, not too many people in there when we went. There were four in our party and we all liked what we had. Five stars for food. Authentic Mexican flavor.

Hard to get a really great Mex restaurant to stay in this location. No Way Jose was exactly that! — No Way Jose! Although they were open even in the most severe weather, never could bring myself to eat there after the initial round… WAAAYY! overpriced and nothing to write home about. Especially when their competition down the road is cheaper, faster and tastier! New hope came when we noticed Restaurante Mexicana was opening their doors — another place to try! Yay! We love variety! And we love a place that that is close by and can be our go to joint in times of extreme hunger. Have to tell ya, this has been it. Anytime that craving hits, we’ve been here. 3 – 4 times now at this point, and have never been disappointed as of yet. They don’t serve booze — which was initially a Darn! But with the quality of food, it’s most definitely not a strike against. They make a mean horchata that will quench any thirst! And you’ll need them! Food here is HOT. Spicy hot. But not for the shock value of being hot, there is some wonderful flavor behind that sting! Everything we’ve had is super great. It’s a no frills, what you see is what you get — down to earth homemade, like your Mama would make — or my friend’s mama — we had white boy tacos growing up! So good, find myself tearing into those goodie bags we bring home with us when we’re walking into the door. Double thinking about putting them in the fridge. The Bisteak is wonderful, Tacos — of course. Have tried steak and chicken at this point. They make a mean burrito — even with the sour cream, which is usually a Hold No! for us — don’t like a big goopy surprise. And their pozole special for lunch was the best I’ve had in years. Very good beans. Is it wrong to judge a place by it’s beans? I think not! Plenty enough warm tortillas, And no. they don’t charge extra after 2! Their avacados are great… fresh. and a nice green! I love their salsa. Now, let me say it’s not stick to the spoon thick, and just like Godilock’s porriage, not too hot, not too cold — simple and just right. Service has always been good. Sometimes overworked, but always on the ball, treating us right. Simply can’t go wrong here. If you’re looking for something more then a hit and run joint for tacos, definitely a new spot to check out and add to your list! ~

I went to visit this restaurant during lunch after a recommendation from some coworkers. The food was just okay; I had a chicken taco and a steak taco with rice and beans. The salsa however, was very, very good. It was spicy and fresh. They also had a mild version of the salsa that was more smooth than chunky. This place does not have a lunch menu, however all the plates are very traditional Mexican. The staff was friendly and nice. They were attentive to refilling our drinks. It took about 25 minutes for them to get our food out, which is pretty slow for lunch hour. I only get 45 minutes for lunch, and we were running behind! I can’t say I wouldn’t recommend Restaurant Mexicana; they are good. However, I think there is some significant competition in the area.
