Maui Built! On my second trip here, my friends requested for Maui Built shirts. The store name is somewhat deceptive since you can only get Maui Built novelties here.
Shirts are OG and come in a variety of sizes from infants to adults. I went to three locations on the island and found the one in Kihei in the Safeway plaza to have more sizes and designs.
Was able to get my toddler nephews t-​shirts here so that they can sport them in daycare.
People who worked here are really friendly and helpful. Shirts are decently affordable compared to other brands.

I love this little Maui Built store. Great place to buy Maui Built t-​shirts, towels, backpacks, stickers, boardshorts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, whateva! And they are so nice. We needed a size 33 boardshort, and they called other stores to find and save them for us. So nice. You don’t usually find anyone who cares enough to do that, or who will do it without an attitude.
I really appreciated the girls and how nice they were. I love the selection. From kids to adults, you will find something you love here!

I’m a main-​lander so not exactly the target clientele but I was impressed by the designs of their shirts and wanted to bring something home unique. The staff was friendly and helpful despite not having anything I wanted in my size. I guess the big boys on the island suck up all the large sizes, so call ahead if you wear 2X+. I still wound up finding something I liked, and after telling them I snowboard every weekend back home, they showed off the one snowboard they had in the back. Hey that’s pretty cool for a shop that is pretty much all surfer gear. I was shocked to see they even had a snowboard but I guess it snows on the big island? I will have to come back and bring my gear to ride it…

Tropix Surf is the only place you can purchase Maui Built paraphernalia. Their Lahaina location is staffed with a young sales staff who truly aim to please. Although not as big as their central location, it’s the only place on the West Maui side where you can find this local favorite.
No online shopping, only 3 locations spread throughout the island of Maui… these days it doesn’t get much more exclusive than this!
p. s. their t-​shirts shrink like crazy so buyer beware.
