Super tasty Mahi Mahi fish and Korean beef tacos. The Mahi Mahi was perfectly grilled. Very friendly and helpful cashier. Eight year old son enjoyed the chicken Katsu.

Crazy Fries, Maui onion strings and grilled cheese delicious! The chicken bites sauce and breading was good but the chicken itself was nasty dark meat. It would be so much better with chicken breast. The fried dark meat was slimy and not very appetizing They have tables and chairs outside covered by umbrellas. It is like a built in foodtruck more than a stand alone restaurant :)

This place was nice and convenient when walking Front Street. Nice little Plaza off the road. I know of was a little disappointed based on the Unilocal reviews I read. Maybe I just had a bad service experience today but it took a long time to get my food and one order was wrong. We just ate it anyways because we were waffling between the two anyways. I’m betting the time really affected my analysis of my Korean BBQ player lunch but it seemed like a bit much for the small portions. Plus it lacked any real Korean BBQ flavor. They had the obligatory Sriracha and assorted accoutrements that help a restaurant’s food but I was kind of hoping for flavor from the kitchen. I witnessed a table over from me with the tacos and thought to myself this is the reason for many of the Unilocal reviews. Looked tasty and fresh with mango salsa. Wished I had ordered that. One note to servers that have the iPads as the POS machines, at the point when it asks me to leave a tip and gives me options. Don’t roll your eyes at me when I choose to not leave one on the ipad. I like to leave tops in cash on the tip jar you have in the window. Kind of started the experience off on the wrong foot. Think I’ll try another place next time. Aloha mixed plate is about a half mile north on Front Street. Give that a try if you want to actually sit down and eat inside.

We came for a quick bite of lunch, and ordered the kalbi beef tacos and teri chicken bites plate. Both portions were well sized and the food tasted great. The Teri bites came out really hot and juicy, with great flavour. Although I’d say it’s a little too sweet for my tastes but I think so most it’ll be perfect. The beef tacos had lots of beef, and tasted really good. Tacos were warm and soft. Overall a great place to grab a quick bite. Our lunch came to $ 24 for 2 people.

This place is a hidden gem on Front Street! They have a great selection of tasty food and great prices. The seating/dining area is very casual with stools and tables right out side of the kitchen. I really enjoyed the Mahi Mahi tacos and the Crazy Fries are also so delicious! I appreciated the super kind and friendly wait staff. They were really helpful is providing further description about the different food items they serve. They also provide different sauces both spicy and sweet that are excellent with the fries or just about anything on the menu. I will definitely be back here every time I visit Maui.

Hidden in the corner shopping center this quick service café is great if you’re looking for good local food with gluten free options. Only outdoor seating here and the plate lunches are pretty solid. Mahi mahi tacos are a must.

Came back to enjoy another onolicious dinner. Lahaina Luna Café continues to serve-up delicious and tasty food at a reasonable price. On this visit, I ordered the Luna Burger and Garlic Fries, my wife had the Front Street Dog, my sons ordered the Teri-Fried Chicken Bites plate and the Lahaina Korean BBQ Beef plate. All the food was cooked perfectly and tasted ono. The flavors of all the food is spot-on. The service is always exceptional here. Besides being friendly, they are also very helpful when you aren’t sure what to order. I always enjoy stopping here when I’m on Maui.

3.5 While my hub was in the Ululani line, I found myself Unilocaling its next door neighbor, Café Lahaina Luna. I wanted that shaved ice but of course I wanted something savory too but I didn’t want to eat too much since dinner wasn’t far away. I debated heavily between the Korean beef tacos and the chicken bites. We went with the tacos since it seemed to be «lighter» on the belly than saucy chicken poppers. The tacos came out quick and as requested, the sauces were on the side. The korean beef didn’t remind me of korean beef. In fact, if it weren’t for the aioli and toppings, the beef would be lacking in flavor altogether. The tacos were decent though, and they load that taco up with lots of meat! It was a good way to satisfy a semi hungry belly. I imagine my visit this time might have been a teeny flop since most rave about the goodies here. Will definitely give them another shot next time.

This casual take out stand is the real deal for great food. Order at the window and eat at the outdoor tables or take it to go. We ordered the crazy fries, luna burger with cheese and the Korean beef tacos. We started with the tacos. So flavourful! The tacos were amazing — a wonderful combination of flavours and plenty of savoury beef inside. The fries were skinny fries and had the sesame and seaweed flavours of sushi: delicious. The cheeseburger was fantastic. We ate well for $ 30. I highly recommend!

Great, quick eats at this café on Front Street! After plenty of fancy meals in Maui, my family was really looking forward to some casual food. We ordered a variety of items, and the person who took our order kindly informed me that orders were taking 20 minutes plus. No big deal, but nice that she let me know! We walked around the area while waiting for our order. We ordered our food to go, but there were a few tables to eat in the area if you wanted to stick around. Our favorites were the fries(both crazy and plain), Luna burger, and chicken bites, but the burger stood above all else! It had a little kick to it, which I loved! The food was affordable, but still high quality and delicious! This was the best deal for food we had while in the Lahaina/Kaanapali area. I can’t wait to go back on my next visit!

Came here on a recommendation and dangggggg I’m glad we did. Location: I didn’t expect it to be an outdoor window with outdoor seating, so just putting that out there in case ppl are looking for an air conditioned location. There were public restrooms nearby that were surprisingly clean. Food: Crazy Fries — We couldn’t get enough of this! Furikake seasoning is a Japanese seasoning that we became addicted to after this trip. Korean Beef BBQ Tacos — Delicious. There’s nothing more to say. Just delicious. Fish and Chips — I actually am not a fan of fried fish and this was also top notch. The quality of the fish and the batter they use are perfectly balanced. If you do like fish and chips, you’ll without question enjoy this dish. If you’re in Lahaina and want to grab a quick and delicious bite, check it out! Plus it’s next to Ululani’s Hawaiian Shaved Ice for dessert. :)

The food takes about 15 to 20 minutes to come out, but it’s so good. It’s also hard when you smell every aroma that’s coming from the open kitchen. You order at the stand and seat yourself in the nearby public tables. That’s Maui style. We shared the crazy fries, kale and brussels sprouts salad, and combination tacos. I have to give it to them. Hawaiian food is good because it’s a fusion of different ethnic foods. They do fusion well here. The crazy fries were crazy good. The sweet chili sauce and seaweed seasoning added magic to the fries like I’ve never had before. The kale and brussels sprouts salad could have been better. It was just chopped up vegetables with slivered almonds and tiny mango pieces with a not very flavorful vinaigrette. There could have been more twists added to it. The mahi taco had a huge, flaky piece of fish with a little heat and mango salsa to balance it out. It was very good, along with the Korean BBQ taco. It was a good choice of meat for the Korean BBQ and good marinade that made it the best one I’ve had so far on the island. There’s always room for dessert at the Ululani’s Hawaiian Shaved Ice next door, which has awesome shaved ice!

Amazing service, gotta hand it to ya’! I love island hospitality. Came here since we did not want to spend more than three dollar $ign$$ on another meal. We’re glad we did! A little stand where you order your food and then sit outside to enjoy the sun and breeze. I had to order the soba noodles since my stomach was not feeling too happy and wanted to opt for something easy to digest. This was delicious, light, and fresh. It did not look like a lot of food initially, but it was more than enough. Friends ordered: taco combination, green goddess quesadilla, and crazy fries. The tacos received two thumbs up & was demolished quickly. The quesadilla was filled with veggies & cheese, but also received a remark of «it’s so soggy.» The crazy fries were crispy and good — we all wish it had a little bit more sauce though(where’s the aoli?) Spent $ 27 on the crazy fries, taco combination, and soba noodles for two people — Maui prices. Walk on over to Ululani’s next door for some shaved ice too!

Wow, amazing local Hawaiian and Asian fusion food. Came here for lunch and it did not disappoint. We all ordered different things but no one complained because they were busy stuffing their faces. I ordered the green goddess chicken quesadilla and I was completely blown away! FYI no child high chair available. Lots of casual, first come first serve. Be mindful when you order for table for your family. Overall, we had a great experience here and I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting casual and local food.

My credibility for being a harsh critic has been questioned from the large number of 5* ratings I’ve been giving Maui restaurants and establishments… but I don’t care. Lahaina Luna Café gets a shining 5* star review(again hits the top of the top of my 5* list) and if that strikes my reputation so be it. Lahaina Luna Café is phenomenal… exceptional…mindblowing. This is owned by the same owner as Ululani’s Hawaiian Shaved Ice. If you tried that, you’ll know exactly what to expect from Lahania Luna Café. You do not need to tamper your expectations. I have sampled their kale salad(crunchy and nice) and their ISLANDMAHIMAHI dish. This mahi mahi dish is exceptional and trumps all the mahi mahi I have eaten in my entire life. Everything blacks out around you and nothing matters except this fish. That’s how good it is. The cost? $ 12. Yes that’s it. I don’t know how they do it considering the size of the mahi mahi. This is a horrible thing to say for consumers because I don’t know what the business will do in the future, but if they charged $ 40+ for this dish at an upscale restaurant in Maui I would not have flinched. Even for those who are picky about the décor(there is no décor here b/c you are eating outdoors), this is something you will truly enjoy. The marinade and charring on the fish is pristine. It is grilled to perfection and the marinade is light yet flavorful. The mango chutney on top added a great fruit flavor(wish it was more of a purée like Ohana Grill which I think has the best mango chutney) to the fish. The components blended so wonderfully and I was literally licking my fork and scraping any remnants of mahi mahi left on the plate. I cannot remember a time when I enjoyed grilled fish this much(I do not enjoy grilled fish in general). Prior to my leaving Maui, I wanted to sample the Mahi Mahi at Mama’s Fish House in Paia to compare this to what is considered Maui’s top restaurant, but I wasn’t able to make my schedule work. Mama’s may have better presentation for their mahi mahi, but I have serious doubts that the dish would be much better than this. My one regret is not trying out the rest of the offerings at Lahaina Luna Café. They offer their mahi mahi tacos(different preparation & marinade from the island mahi mahi dish) as well as their Kahulua Pork sandwich. If the Island Mahi Mahi platter is any indication of how good things are here, the other dishes have to be well-above average compared to other restaurants in Maui. On my next visit to Maui, this place will be one of the first places I will visit and I will be sure to sample every dish that this restaurant has to offer.

I was looking for something casual and quick, and saw the great reviews and so thought the combo tacos would be worth a try! Both the mahi mahi and Korean beef tacos were excellent! The fish fillets were thick, cooked and seasoned perfectly, and the fruit salsa was great! The beef was tender, and cooked with the slightly crispy edges I love! The salad on the side was fresh and a tasty alternative to chips or beans and rice, They cook everything to order, so even though it is outdoor counter service(think permanent food truck) expect to wait 15 minutes or so for your food. Seating is limited up front as there are a few places sharing about 3 tables, but there are a few more around the side. The only downside to those side tables have a lovely view of an abandoned work area of some sort… old refrigerators, etc. Next time I might get the food to go and head down by the banyan tree to eat!

Almost walked by and missed this place. Really casual… you order and sit outside. We had the mahi mahi tacos, bulgogi tacos, crazy fries and a side salad. The salad and fries came with some tasty house made(or house modified) dressing and aioli. The crazy fries are just fries with furikake on top; not really that crazy but delicious nonetheless. The fish portion was not bad, probably 6oz total and lightly battered and seasoned. The pineapple pico was fresh and complemented the fish well. The bulgogi was a bit too sweet, but the portion was decent sized and the flavors were well balanced when paired with the sauce. Overall a good meal with enjoyable flavors at standard Maui prices. Definitely give them a try!
