Wow! The ahi and shrimp tacos here a killer! Friendly service, good prices, awesome, no frills lunch in Lahaina. It’s cash only too so be prepared.

The Window’s gone, but there’s a «Sure Thing Burger» now. We’ll have to try them when we back in Lahaina. There’s a kamaaina discount, bringing the $ 8 burgers down to $ 6.70.

Good news and bad news. First, the bad news: The Window has closed, permanently. I tried to visit with my family, and there is no window any longer. I asked around, and finally ran into someone who used to work at The Window, who told me that it has been closed and replaced with a new restaurant… Now, the good news: the owners of the window have started a new restaurant in the same place: Sure Thing Burger. I know what you’re thinking, because I thought the same thing: how could they replace a delicious hawaiian place with a burger joint?! We were about to turn back to find somewhere else to eat, but the aforementioned employee told us that these were some seriously delicious burgers. And they are. If you happen to go there, my recommendation is this: get the Pork burger. It is not what you’d expect at all from pork — it is JUICY, tender, and incredibly delicious. It’s like they took roasted kalua pulled pork, turned it into patties, and put it into a mind-blowingly delicious bun unlike any you’ve ever had. So don’t give up on the Window… give Sure Thing a try.

Went by on 12÷20÷11 for fish tacos but they were still closed. The place was boarded up. I hope they are renovating and will be open again. Try to call first’ If not front street is a fun place and you will find other options. 1 star is for them being closed. I will change or remove rating if they reopen.

Was really excited to try the Window while in Maui thanks to all the Unilocal reviews. Got to the address and had to ask over at Ululani’s Shave Ice where the Window was. They told us that they’re closed until after Thanksgiving. Would be nice if the website was updated to show that so people don’t come by wanting lunch.

I wish we would have found this place at the beginning of our trip instead on the last day. We had the mahi mahi taco, shrimp taco, pork taco, and the seared ahi open faced sandwich. All of them were incredible!!! Everything Ben uses is fresh from the island and absolutely delicious!!! I highly recommend this place. I think the location on Unilocal’s map is slightly off, but ask around… you’ll find it. My ahi sandwich was better than the ahi I had for $ 30 at Kimo’s.

The Window is a perfect light meal choice! Especially If you do not want to wait at the other packed main street restaurants or you just overall hate the busy bustle they have! I had lunch there with my sister 2 days ago after she found The Window on Unilocal. We didn’t know which tacos to get so we just got all of them: The BBQ Kalua Pork, Mahi Mahi Fish Taco and the Shrimp Taco. Ironically, that is the opposite order of my preferences. The shrimp taco was really amazing! It had a creamy avocado sauce and some mango salsa to accompany the juicy grilled shrimp. There were sprouts along with the usual cabbage/lettuce so the whole taco was crisp, fresh and delicious. It was topped with a nice touch of black sesame seeds.(5⁄5) The fish taco had everything the shrimp tacos did. They cut the fish in several small pieces about an inch long and had several per taco(which makes it easy to pick at!). Yummy, yummy.(5⁄5) The kalua pork taco on the other hand, could use a little extra ingredient but I don’t quite know what. The pork itself was a generous amount, which I always appreciate, but the taste felt like it needed an extra kick. It couldn’t compete with the other more festive colorful fish and shrimp tacos that we had.(3⁄5) Tortillas were delicious. They honestly taste like no other tortilla I’ve ever had(in a good way) added to the fact that they grill them. Also, the cabbage/lettuce in every taco is crisp, fresh, and a hearty amount which makes me feel like I’m being a smart, healthy eater!(A rare feeling when you’re a tourist in Hawaii!). Last but not least, the pineapple sauce(the mild and the spicy) went SOWELL with the seafood tacos. Goodness gracious! My little sister was squirting it onto her finger and licking it. She was obsessed. Oh also, service was great– friendly cashier and attentive cook who brought our food out to us. Supposedly the place opened a year ago and the two guys working at the moment had moved out there from the Valley in LA. Overall, purely enjoyable! I mean… when eating finger-licking tacos from a small shack located in a quiet little space between two bigger buildings that literally functions as a «window» to the sea(and you are in Lahaina!) how could you complain?!

I loved this place. Located in the heart of Lahaina, The Window is totally unassuming. In fact, you probably wouldn’t even notice it if you walk by. The mahi mahi taco was amazing. They use really fresh ingredients and I loved the mango salsa. Their pulled pork taco is also very good. They’re not like the street tacos you can get here in LA, but they are very fresh and flavorful. It may seem pricey for a taco, but trust me, you’ll probably pay less for a meal here compared to other places around the island. They are super nice and accommodating as well. There is no restaurant seating, but it’s located in a nice courtyard with public tables available if you happen to snag one. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth trying. And when you’re done, grab some shave ice from Ululani’s. You won’t regret it!

The Window is exactly that, a semi-shack with an ordering window. After you place your order, you give your name and grab a seat at one of the outdoor tables and wait for your name to be shouted and food brought to you. I met up with some family and friends for a pre-celebration and welcoming on the beautiful island of Maui. The Window was the perfect spot for an evening out in casual wear. Because we had such a large party, I basically tried everything on the menu: — Grilled Mahi Mahi Taco($ 3.95) — Hand-cut cabbage, fresh chopped pineapple, capers, red bell peppers and herbs. The mahi mahi was cut in strips, was moist, though erring to the ever so slightly overcooked side, but luckily it was somewhat flaky. The mahi mahi was nicely seasoned and good all on its own, but when combined with the pineapple, capers and this green-like salsa, all the flavors seemed to get muddled and nothing really seemed to accentuate the other. Capers on its own are usually salty, but I couldn’t even really notice the saltiness in these. — Grilled Shrimp Taco($ 4.25) — Hand-cut cabbage, fresh chopped pineapple, fresh mint, clover(which looked more like baby bean sprouts) with Thai coconut sauce, and topped with black sesame seeds. This taco was a step up from the grilled mahi mahi. The shrimp were cooked firm and flavorful, and the sweetness from the coconut sauce and pineapple added an extra level of Hawaiian flavor. Very good but the kalua pork was the probably the star of the 3 tacos. — BBQ Kalua Pork Taco($ 3.95) — Hand-cut cabbage, local spices with fresh chopped pineapple. The shredded kalua pork was not incredibly saucy, but its tenderness and full bbq flavor profile made this a delicious treat. There was also a healthy serving, adding to the bang for the buck. This taco is definitely worth trying. — BBQ Pork Sandwich($ 5.25) — Slow cooked Kalua pork on top of locally baked Hawaiian sweet bread toasted with fresh herbs, pineapples, with a not too tangy homemade BBQ sauce. The pork was prepared in the same fashion as the taco but the BBQ sauce did add a subtle tanginess along with the not too sweet bread to make this an alternative to those who don’t like handling tacos. — Maui Classic Burger($ 6.25) — 100% grass-fed island raised beef, lettuce, all natural white american cheese, grilled onions, and homemade 8 island dressing. This burger was just released three days ago(6÷27÷11). The burger was mediocre, the beef was slightly overcooked and didn’t have that juiciness to the meat. The flavors didn’t really seem to carry through the meat all the way, leaving it a bit plain. If I had to improve, I would probably grill it at a higher temp to get the outside of the burger a little more grilled, yet keep the inside moist. The marinade could also be tweaked to amplify the flavor a bit more, not only making the burger that much tastier but also bringing out the flavor of the beef. Two squeeze bottle compliments were also available. The yellow(a sweet pineapple sauce) and red(spicy pineapple sauce) were both very tasty. I found myself squeezing the red bottle on almost everything to give some added oomph. It has just the right amount of heat to not make you fire breathing. Service here is superb. The chef constantly came out to talk with us, and all around made us feel at home. We joked around with him, and he was just a very enjoyable man to talk with. A few of our party members informed him that we were getting married, so he was very generous by bringing over a few bottles of soda and couple bottles of water. A few moments later, he also brought over a whole basket of pound cake, to which he gave to several other tables and announced my upcoming marriage. Thanks!!! I will definitely come back here as the service is top-notch, prices very fair, and portions very generous. As far as flavor profile goes, there needs some improvement, but The Window definitely has some great potential to be a rising star for tourists and locals alike. I’m rooting for you!

We were looking for a quick lunch and«The Window» came up on Unilocal Mobile… The fish tacos were good, but not«incredible»… Good cheap food on the run! I remember the staff was friendly and as a nice perk, they offered cloth napkins… Not what you would expect from a place like this.

Awesome fish tacos. The best I’ve ever had. I came here after searching for a great food place in Lahaina, and it took me right to The Window. It’s a bit hard to find, but just take note that it’s right next to Ululani’s(save room for dessert and go there, you won’t regret it!). The kitchen staff is amazingly friendly, and we had a lot in common since they were all from LA area. I ordered 2 fish tacos, and I ate every bite. The fish is very fresh and cooked perfectly. The mix of the pineapple and capers on the fish tacos was delicious — it made it cool yet flavorful. I highly recommend using the«hot» sauce they bring around to the tables(it’s not hot at all) because it gives the taco just a bit of a kick. I would come back here in a heartbeat if I was back in Lahaina.

Incredible fish and shrimp tacos. You can really tell the seafood is fresh. Kitchen staff was friendly and seemed to enjoy me saying the food was great. Pork sandwich was good, but not the best Ive had. Their mild and spicy mango habanero sauce was perfect compliment for the tacos, and helped cut through the richness of the pork and BBQ sauce. Parking sucks, as this place is on Front Street in über busy and über touristy Lahaina. Right next door to some awesome Shaved Ice, it was a good day. Steve out.

A friend and I came here for a fish taco, thanks to Unilocal recommendations. The taco was very good on it’s own. Scott, the owner, talked to us for a while and ended up giving us a complementary burger to taste test since it had only been on their menu for 3 days. It was the best burger I’d ever had. No bull. There is a thousand island sauce with pineapple in it that is simply out of sight. The rest of our crew didn’t get to Maui until the next day so Scott told us to come back the following weekend for a private party. How many times do you get a private party set up for you? This time around I got the Pulled Pork sandwich. Ridiculously juicy and goes perfect with some cold Hana waters. We had a lot of polarizing experiences with restaurants and excursions in Maui, especially when it comes to service. With such a high turnover in customers it’s gotta be difficult to expect return business. It seems you can take that either of two ways. Either provide great service regardless or not really give a shit. Thanks to Unilocal we can track these places. Scott, Kyle and the rest of the crew here are as inviting as any place I’ve ever been. I’ll always stop by when I’m in Maui.

The most amazing fish tacos I’ve ever had in my life! The owner and staff were very friendly and come out to talk to us and ensure we had enough napkins and sauce as well as to warn us of the falling nuts from the surrounding trees. This was the greatest meal I had while in Maui and I would go back here no matter where I stayed on the island when i return.

We wanted to try this place out, sounded really good on Unilocal. Here’s my scoop. We ordered one each, Mahi Fish Taco, Shrimp Taco, and Kalua Pork. The Fish and Shrimp Taco were tasty and creative, with fresh ingredients. Not much fish or shrimp on top, but it was in line with the price of just under $ 4. The Kalua Pork Taco was a mushy mess. I could not save it even with the tasty pineapple salsa sauce. It’s open air under the banyan tree, right next to the famous Shaved Ice place. A cool atmosphere for a quick bite, but a bit too casual for dinner.

Funny story– My friend and I actually had a reservation across the street that had a 45 min wait… so we wondered around a bit and found«The Window». kinda tucked away in this cute courtyard… all I can say is OMG! Thank goD! I was sooo hungry, the smell of smokey Kahlua Pork was irresistible. We split the«One of each» as an appetizer while we waited for our table. I was immediately sold! These guys know what they are doing! They were so good… long story short, my girlfriend and I ended up coming here for lunch everyday while we were on vacation. Side note– The boys are cute too! LOL =) Its apparent these guys love what they do, it shows in the food. If you want something fast, fresh, DELICIOUS!!! I definitely recommend this taco shop fer sure!

The mahi mahi tacos are as every bit delicious as everyone says they are! The only thing I didn’t care for were the capers, but that didn’t really keep me from scarfing it down… ha! It was really ono-licious! I also had a bite of my son’s kalua pork sandwich and Oh-Em-Gee! The pork was literally melting in my mouth. So tender and juicy! I almost wished I had ordered that instead. Sooo freakin’ good! Wish we had more time on our trip to try more stuff on the menu. I’m already putting this place down as a MUSTHAVE for our next trip to the islands.

Im claiming The Window has the best seafood tacos I’ve ever had. The mango sauce is ridiculous. The 3 tacos and a drink for 10 $$ deal is awesome. The people at The Window are really mellow too. They dont just make you food, they feed you at your own pace. Go for a surf and grab a few tacos at The Window!

4 stars purely for their fish tacos. I think I am a bit confused as to what a fish taco is supposed to be, because every fish taco I’ve had in Maui was not breaded. Anyhow, I ordered the fish taco mild and boy was the mild not mild. I felt that the flavoring was pretty good, fish was moist and its definitely refreshing after spending time at the beach and in the sun. Everything in the taco kind of just overflows and spills out so it can be a bit messy. There’s a lot of cute shops there and I definitely recommend taking a stroll after grabbing a quick snack here. $ 3.50 for a small fish taco doesn’t seem worth it, but it is!

It’s easy to miss! Try to look for it tucked behind a banyan tree in the«middle» of Front Street. It’s worth it for a nice reprieve from all the shopping you’ll do. Small take-out taco kitchen, with a friendly cook — «We’ve got action!» Enjoyed the kahlua pork taco’s and the mahi-mahi taco’s. 2 for $ 10 The open-faced ahi tuna sandwich wasn’t as big of a hit, rather bland. They are very proud of their hot sauce. Way too spicy for me, but my friend enjoyed it!
