This place has the best chicken fried steak. It’s better than my mom’s. I’m not even kidding. You need to eat here. Just do it.

Cute place and nice staff. I fee like this is the type of breakfast you can make at home so it was an average experience for m. Coffee is not good. I did love the idea of how they have the kids menus on the back of a kids book!

This place is very cute and unpretentious. It feels like REAL Kirkland; meaning Kirkland before Kirkland was invaded by people who look like they’re from the Jersey shore.(Go back to your mothership, Jersey people.) I digress… Best sausage links in Seattle in my opinion. Great omelettes. And try the chicken fried steak if you’re feeling a little more greasy-spoon. It’s delish.

My third times to get my lovely and fluffy pancakes!!! I just can’t quit milky, soft, and huge that’s what I love the most! Their link sausages are pretty huge and delicious as well. This time their rib eye cooked perfectly, but the biscuit is still kinda salty to me. P. s. their hush brown is yum, too!

This is the best breakfast restaurant in a five mile radius, and I have tried around 20 different places. They have a huge menu, generous portions, innovative dishes — look at menu, everything is made to order, you can order half potions, friendliest staff around. Think of whatever superlatives. Pretty sure the food will live upto this hype with most anyone.

Overall decent restaurant with tons of options on the menu but was recently left unimpressed by breakfast. After eating her for dinner one night and enjoying the ‘home cooked’ items on the menu(the chicken pot pie is delish!) we really wanted to give breakfast a try since it seemed like what they were known for. Lots of positive Unilocal comments led us here on a Sunday morning along with a 30+ minute wait time. Our expectations were high and unfortunately left unsatisfied. Perhaps we just ordered the wrong menu items? The pancakes and waffles others were ordering looked great however our meal was overall bland and a bit sad. My prime rib & eggs dish was more than enough food for one person… however the prime rib was over cooked and chewy… the hashbrowns tasted like previously frozen with little flavor. The biscuit with gravy… not overly exciting. The gravy tasted spicy and was only so-so in my book. For $ 15 I would not order this again. The bf’s scramble was good but nothing to write home about. Not sure we will be back for breakfast as it did not live up to the hype.

6 of us had brunch on a Saturday morning: Eggs bene with bacon, hash browns & gravy; chicken fried steak & eggs, pigs in a blanket, strawberry waffles, a custom omelet with veggies, avocado, & bacon; and German potato pancakes with Apple compote. All were delicious with one exception. The potato pancakes were not the traditional German kind, and we should know because we are! In fact, their hash browns came closer to the genuine deal than the potato pancakes which contained way too much flour and seemed to be potatoes mixed into pancake batter — something never done with the true item. They also came with Apple compote, which we’ve seen at other restaurants in these parts, but not the real deal. Only plain applesauce will do, but they didn’t have any. So 5 of the 6 of us were pleased. Our wait time at 10 am was about 20 minutes, longer than for smaller groups of 4 or fewer because they have only 1 table set up to serve 6. There were other tables that could be arranged to accommodate 6 but those were all occupied by smaller groups. All in all, it was a nice, cozy, somewhat noisy, locally owned place for good, hardy brunch. Not as diverse a menu as the Screen Door in Portland offers not and no were near as large, but similar in its homey-ness!(Is that a word?) Oh and good, friendly, fast service! No handicapped parking at all, however! That was a real bummer. And really made me mad. No excuse for that.

I’d say 3.5 stars. Pros: Great service — twenty-five minute wait when we got there and we asked if we could have coffee and drink it outside until we had a table. They were really nice and gave us coffee/creamer right away. French toast was really good. My husband loved his omelette and mother-in-law loved her pancakes. Cons: I ordered my french toast with strawberry topping. it was a strawberry compote topping. Some people like that but I really prefer fresh berries so I didn’t eat mine. Maybe that should be an option on the menu — either compote or fresh berries? I know this is a weird comment, but the portions were way to big. I didn’t even eat half of mine and neither did my mother-in-law, and pancakes/French toast with syrup on them aren’t really something you can take to go. I felt bad wasting food! Otherwise it’s a good place for breakfast food and I’d go here again, but maybe just order something else. :)

An amazing little hole in the wall! Decent prices and fantastic food! The chicken fried steak and gravy are homemade! The portions are huge — I had the kitchen sink scramble and a pancake. Both very good!

We are from Eastern Washington and had no idea where to eat. I saw that this place had great reviews and breakfast is good at any time of the day. We pulled in and was greeted by our wonderful waitress. After choosing from an extecive menu I chose the Denver omelet and my wife got pigs in a blanket. We both chose wisely, but I don’t think you could go wrong with any of it. As we sat there for awhile I noticed the regulars rolling in, a sure sign of good eats. If you’re local or passing through, put all pretence aside and treat yourself to a delicious meal.

We came here while traveling for work, and my co-workers kept raving about it after we left. The food comes in generous amounts, I could barely finish my meal. I did a custom omelette with hash browns and toast. The hash brown was a little more buttery for my taste, but the omelette more than made up for it. Other people at the table loved the hash brown, so it might’ve just been my personal taste buds. Overall nice people, good service, great food in large quantities.

A bit run down interior, but food was really good. They let me order off menu an egg scrambled, 2 bacon crispy, 2 slices french toast. I enjoyed every bite and the servers were very sweet and attentive. Creative salt and pepper holders, you’ll have to go see for yourself. :)

Went here for breakfast, but I chose the wrong breakfast. I ordered their prime rib and eggs because prime rib. My mistake. The prime rib was some of the worst I’ve ever had. Dry, not very tasty nor tender. Just not a good job cooking it. The service was so-so with a waitress who didn’t seem interested. Not one of my better experiences for breakfast to say the least.

We received a «Buy One Burger Get One Free» Coupon in the Kirkland Shopper. Was very excited to go try a Burger. When we arrived we ordered our drinks and $ 12.99 Burgers. We presented the coupon. We were told if you read the fine print(I mean really fine print) this coupon was for dinners only. We asked if they would honor it since we had already ordered. We were told no? Really? Could not believe it, W got up and left and never experienced the special Cousins Burger. You would think if they had gone to all that trouble to get us in their with the coupon they would of made us happy? No go!

Couzin’s café is now serving dinner with an all-day breakfast menu so I ordered the Pigs in a Blanket. The combination of the topped warm apple compte, sweet cream pancakes and the savoury sausages made my meal divine. There are old photos of Kirkland nicely framed on the walls. The place is clean and tidy. I like the cleverly made salt and pepper holder(photo). The café is in a good location and easy parking. While waiting for the food, a sing-along and ‘guess who the artist is’ game kicked in by the influence of the background music but that did not last long as our food arrived quickly. The server was very attentive and pleasant. Be it breakfast, lunch or dinner this family owned café will give you a satisfying food experience.

Very small seating area with old and outdated furniture and décor. The food was very underwhelming. It wasn’t inedible, but it was very subpar. The coffee was burnt and watery. Disappointed with my meal. Service wasn’t bad, but not worth the money. Not coming back.

Oh mama… love it when I find a new favorite food spot(which doesn’t happen often :(. After hearing locals rave about this place, I had to check it out myself. This morning I went there for breakfast and was blown away by the freshness and incredible taste of the food. I had the sour cream waffle and the homemade sausage and truly needed a cigarette afterwards, it was so good. It was a mouthgasm! My friend had the chicken fried steak and I thought she was going to get on the table and smother herself with the gravy. It’s a small place and we were there during a weekday so it wasn’t crowded. Even if had been, I would have waited. The staff were friendly, attentive, and continually refilled my coffee.

It is a-ok. It can get crowded. The food is very diner-esque and if one is in the mood for diner-esque food then Couzins is as good a place as any. The milkshakes are delightful. The sandwiches are okay though the omlettes are much better. The service is courteous and polite. Overall, A-OK!

This place came highly recommended by friends, so I came to try it for breakfast. I ordered a basic dish, the eggs Benedict, and was very disappointed. Both of my poached eggs were cooked through, which made the dish utterly dissatisfying. Although the hash was crispy and pretty good, it wasn’t enough to make up for the disappointing poached eggs.

The idea of a small privately-owned restaurant serving breakfast close to me was just too good to pass up. I almost always eat breakfast at home, but I can understand the appeal of having someone else serve it to you. I was able to have that happen at Couzin’s Café, and I would come back more often if the prices were lower. I actually didn’t think I would like my dining experience here at first. The waitress was nice, but the wait seemed to take longer than usual. When it did arrive, however, my worries melted away. The portions were huge, very calorie-heavy, and filling. I certainly wasn’t expecting them to go all out like this. Toast, scrambled eggs, hash browns, and steak. Very rarely do I have the luxury of eating like this. I was absolutely starving when I went in, but they fixed that problem very well. I don’t like paying nearly twenty dollars for breakfast, but when it’s this good, that alone deserves at least four stars.
